2 Welcome to the 2011 BCHSA Benefit Horse & Pony Show- A tremendous thank you to all BCHSA members for making the 2011 show season a success! We would like to express our gratitude for the many sponsors who supported this year s show. The Benefit show is our major fundraising event of the year, and we thank all of you who became division sponsors for today. Our benefit show marks the end of our competitive season. We will miss seeing friends ringside each and every weekend. However, our Medal Finals and Banquet are just around the corner, and these events will bring us together again. Until then, we wish all our riders, trainers, and parents the best of luck today; ride safely and well, and we look forward to seeing everyone for the 2012 show season! The BCHSA Board DIRECTIONS From the Baltimore Beltway (695): Take Exit 20 (Route 140/Reisterstown Road) north one mile to the intersection of Reisterstown and McDonogh Roads. Turn left at the light onto McDonogh Road. Proceed 1.5 miles to Farm Road and make a right. Proceed to the top of the hill. From the Northwest Expressway (795): Take Exit 4 (Owings Mills Boulevard) and bear right off the exit to Town Center/Owings Mills Boulevard. Proceed through two traffic lights until the road ends. Turn left onto Lyons Mill Road, continuing to the traffic light. Turn right onto Painters Mill Road, then left at the next light onto McDonogh Road. Farm Road is the third drive on the left. Entry Fee- $15/ Class. Classic entries are $20/ Classic. A $10 office fee will be charged to all post entries, except Lead Line. Pre-Entries will be charged a $5 office fee. No numbers will be given out without a signed blank check. 2. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the BCSHA rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance herewith. 3. Three entries in equitation classes and four in medal classes must complete the course for points to count. Three entries must begin a class for performance points to count. If there are less than three entries in either Lead Line or Mini-Short Stirrup, half points will be awarded. 4. All entry blanks must be completed and signed in accordance with Rule XVI. Membership Liability Forms must also be completed and on file prior to competing.

4 5. The management is not liable for any injury to person or to any horse at any time, which includes going to, coming from, and in the ring. Neither will it be responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to tents and other properties on the show grounds. 6. Should any question or dispute arise that is not provided for in the ongoing rules, the same shall be submitted to the show executive committee, whose decision is final. 7. Proof of negative coggins must accompany all entries, or be presented to the show secretary when picking up numbers. 8. Stallions are barred from the show grounds. 9. All dogs must be on a leash at all times or fines will be imposed. 10.McDonogh School s smoke free policy will be enforced. 11.Championships & Reserves will be awarded in all division. 12.All riders must wear ATSM/SEI approved helmets at all times when mounted, with chin strap fastened Rule VI. 13.Management reserves the right to make schedule adjustments if necessary. 14.BEST CHILD RIDER ON A HORSE, ON A PONY, and BEST ADULT AMATEUR RIDER determined by a special committee and the judges. Based on horsemanship and sportsmanship. These trophies will be awarded at the BCHSA Banquet of Champions. Entry Fee $5.00/ 15.PARENT LEADLINE There is no charge for this class. Donations will be graciously accepted at the gate. All proceeds will be given to the Bonnie Thomas Memorial Fund at GFS.

5 16.BCHSA/DOVER THOROUGHBRED CLASSIC- ATTENION ALL THOROUGHBRED OWNERS/RIDERS: We are pleased to introduce the inaugural BCHSA Thoroughbred Classic at our October 1st Benefit Show with a new perpetual trophy sponsored by Dover Saddlery. The premier of this BCHSA Classic (2 over fences) honors the Off Track Thoroughbred and all the strides they have made in the show ring. Great prizes and Dover Gift Cards will be awarded to the top 8 winners. Look for our OTTB display during the show and learn how starting your own Blue Ribbon Fund can help give these talented animals a second chance. All TB Classic entry fees and proceeds will be donated to MidAtlantic Horse Rescue & Angel Acres Horse Have Rescue. You can register your horse in the BCHSA TB Division on the day of the show ($15 fee) (and as a BCHSA horse, if you haven t already) in order to participate in this classic and points earned in this TB classic will count towards the year end Thoroughbred Division. See prize list on bchsa.org for details. Entry fee- $ BCHSA/ MARYLAND SADDLERY CLASSICS 1st round of the Classics will be the 2nd O/F Class of designated divisions. Top 12 in each combined section will return for a 2nd round. Entry fee- $ CATIE CARNES JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT HACK this class is designed to raise funds for the Junior Scholarship that will be awarded at the Banquet of Champions. To be judged as a pleasure hack. Entry fee is $10 at the in-gate.
