This is a very special year for Karate Nova Scotia in March 2018 we hosted Karate Canada s largest National Championships ever - and now we bring our neighbouring provinces together for the 2018 Atlantic Championships. In this - my final year - as President of Karate Nova Scotia - I would indeed like to thank everyone for their ongoing support and dedication throughout my entire three terms. I have genuinely enjoyed working with all of you and will always have a special place in my heart and mind for all of the memories and friendships that have developed over the years. I have truly enjoyed my role as President, and all the amazing experiences, challenges, and accomplishments that come with it. I will continue to focus on the remainder of 2018, and together we will bring in the new year of 2019 I will then welcome our new President at our next provincial AGM in the Spring. From that point on, I look forward to focusing more on Family, NCCP Coach Development, the Karate Canada Board, our Dojo, and of course Robotics (and Rock and Roll)!! Each athlete wears a small hockey shoulder pad style vest (provided), the belts are placed up higher so the kids don t always have their heads down. There is also an extra belt on the back (worth 2 points as opposed to 1 point for each of the belts on the front). This will hopefully discourage competitors from turning their backs to their opponent. Follow this link for a few short clips of a couple matches from some previous events under this new format,
