Payment via PayPal is now available from the CWA website! For more informa on or to purchase ads via paypal, visit: h p:// nentalwhippetalliance.com/ll.htm NEXT DEADLINE : December 31st The CWA and the Line and Lure take no responsibility for statements or claims made in adver sements that appear in this publica on. B ecause this issue has grown to epic propor ons already with the material already submi ed, and because I m s ll wai ng for some of the material about the Na onal, I ve made the editorial decision to split it into two parts. Part 1, which you re reading now, contains all the meet reports from August through October, with the excep on of the CWA Na onal. The Na onal issue, with the match cri que, photos, meet results, travelogue and hopefully a meet report, will be published soon as part 2 of this issue. I know everyone is anxious to see the Na onal issue, and I m sorry for the delay, but I am le with two choices: publish a Na onal issue without much material about the Na onal, or go ahead and publish the rest of the material that is ready to go now, and give a li le more me for the late material to come in. Such is the painful dilemma of the editor, and I hope you all understand That said, there is plenty of material in part 1 of this issue to keep you busy while you wait! There are a couple of ads that will be held for part 2 so if you don t see your ad in this part, stay tuned. There are a few more meets le, and one more regular issue (in addi on to part 2 of this one!) of Line and Lure before we close out the 2012 CWA season. The remaining meet results and reports will be published in the final issue of the year, which will also be our annual Versa lity issue, featuring our CWA whippets achievements in conforma on, agility, obedience, coursing, tracking, therapy, dock diving, flyball, or any other ac vity in which whippets can par cipate and excel. Of course regular adver sing is always welcome too! The next deadline will be DECEMBER 31st. Happy holidays to all, and all the best in the new year! 14 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC August 25/26, 2012 O ur August meets traditionally draw our biggest entries, so it was great to see we had 35 adult racers to start the day on Saturday. The weather also held up its end of the bargain by providing us with sunny blue skies. Thankfully the really high temps of the week before had eased off to more typical mild conditions. We were very lucky to have more California visitors make the long trip up to our meet. This time we had Jean and Vince come with their speedy Wyndsor clan; we always know a fun time will be had by all when they make the trip up. For some reason our meets tend to be very grade C heavy, and today was no exception with an amazing 16 grade C dogs running today. However, we had some very tight racing throughout the grades, with many of the races very evenly matched. ARX points were going to be very hard to come by with so many great running dogs in the line up; it was really anyone's race this weekend. Today s meet win, however, was not close, with the Mighty Bolt winning all four programs very easily. On the other hand, the race for second place was a close one, with Marshall and Zuri finishing only half a point apart. Zuri was having a very good weekend; he seemed to really feed off running against his siblings. The ARX points, once again, all came down to the final program. It looked like the point takers would depend on who placed where in the high point and semi point races. The semi race was a very tough one to win with Hokum, Jimmy and Jake all looking to be strong contenders in that race. It did end up to be a very tight one with the line judges having to call a tie for the win between Hokum and Jimmy. This meant both would get ARX points today but which set of points would depend on where Miss Jane finished in the high point. Miss Jane rose to the challenge by running one of her career best races beating her sister which Jean says has never happened before to finish fourth in the high point and tie with Hokum for the top set of 4 ARX

15 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC August 25/26, 2012 points each. As a result Jimmy would get the bottom set of 1 ARX point. Our two FTE racer Peter and Shine also did very well for their first official race meet. Lunch was another great spread of food with smokies for the main course and lots of salads, desserts and even sushi to choose from for sides. It was very hard to get back up after eating all the great food to finish the fourth program. Saturday s match judge was Janis Castle, who had a nice large entry of 12 whippets to choose from. Her match winner was Lovey, followed by Sonny, Tristan and Jonah. Sunday started out much cooler than the day before with lots of clouds and a nice breeze to keep things from getting too hot. We had a little smaller entry but the racing was just as tight. Meet points were once again going to be very hard to come by and the race for those ARX points was going to be very tight. Saturday match line-up: Judge Janis Castle and #1 Lovey, #2 Sonny, #3 Tristan, #4 Jonah

16 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC August 25/26, 2012 Sunday s meet winner was Bolt, who once again made it look easy, with a clean sweep of all four programs. Marshall and Zuri continued to battle it out for second spot with Fred also joining into to keep things interesting. The big excitement of the day was trying to predict who would take home which set of ARX points. The big points race was between Miss Jane (who only needed 3 points to finish) Olive, Bode and Stella (all of whom were fresh as they didn't race the day before) and Jimmy, Jonah, Jake, Becca and Audrey (all of whom have taken points in the past), so with nine potential dogs in the hunt and only three sets of points, it was setting up to be a very exciting day of racing indeed. Coming into the final program there was still no clear picture of who was going to get which points, and with all the dogs in the high point finished, the race for the top sets of ARX points was going to come out of the semi. Miss Jane was not going to leave anything to chance, and won the semi race to claim the top set of 5 ARX point and finish her title!

17 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC August 25/26, 2012 Sunday match line-up: Judge Linda Buchholz and #1 Tristan, #2 Kiwi, #3 Jonah, #4 Jake Olive and Jimmy had a very close finish for second place, with Olive just edging out her cousin at the finish line to claim the middle set of 3 ARX points. This opened the door for Bode, who won the previous race, to scoop up the hotly contested bottom ARX point. Now I can't forget to mention lunch! For our main course we had a special treat, bratwurst that had been soaked in beer and onions along with a beer and cheese dip that was featured at last years national. Think we had a bit of a theme going on here... There were also lots of other great salads and deserts to choose from that kept everyone happy and well fed. Sunday s match judge was Linda Buchholz, who had a lovely entry of seven whippets to choose from. Her match winner was Tristan followed by Kiwi, Jonah, and Jake. We could not have asked for a better weekend of racing, with perfect weather, very fast tight races, and lots of wonderful food. I would like to thank everyone who came out and supported the meet from both near and far. Without you there would be no Racing For Fun, so a BIG thank you to everyone who came out, worked hard and had fun while doing it. - submitted by Jennifer Szabo

22 DAIRYLAND WHIPPET CLUB Milwaukee, WI September 1/2, 2012 T his year s Dairyland Whippet Club s Labor Day events featured fantastic weather. The temperatures were in the 70 s both days with low humidity, a breeze and partly cloudy skies. Whippets competing this weekend were from seven states: Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Saturday s entry was 30 adult starters (including 8 champions) and one puppy. Kazi won all four hi-point races (5 NARX Photo: James points) followed by Ziggy (3 NARX) and newcomer Benjamin (1 NARX). The ARX points were captured by up and coming one-year old racers. Benjamin placed 3rd in the meet, earning 5 ARX points, Goldie placed 4th in the meet and took the 3 ARX points with Travis, Jackson and Bose tying for 6th in the meet and splitting the last ARX point (1/3rd each). Maud was the only puppy competing. Saturday s Conformation Match was judged by Susan Cook and drew 15 entries. Her selections were: 1st Caleb, 2nd Tripp, 3rd Photo: James Reba, 4th Josie. Tripp gets credit for the conformation win since Caleb is already an AKC Bench Champion. We had the use of a power horn brought by Phoebe Booth. She said it was gathering dust in her storage so she thought she would bring it and see if we could use it. We will be bringing it to the CWA NATIONAL in Virginia for their use. After adding eight new C batteries it worked like a charm for the usual announcements The Board is posted, Racing in 10 minutes We need the following dogs to the Paddock. On Sunday our lure operator, Fred Luehrs, used it to tell a few jokes between races and keep the group chuckling throughout the day. Photo: James

23 DAIRYLAND WHIPPET CLUB Milwaukee, WI September 1/2, 2012 Photo: James The entries for Sunday s races were 24 adults (including 4 champions) and 1 puppy. Tied for hi-point adult and splitting the NARX points were Ziggy (3 NARX) and Kazi (3 NARX). Placing 3rd for the meet and capturing 4 ARX points was Goldie. Benjamin was 4th for the meet and earned the 2 ARX points. Ursula, Maud s litter sister, was the only puppy competing. Carol Sumbry judged the Sunday Conformation Match. She awarded CWA ribbons to: 1st Ursula, 2nd Max, 3rd Benjamin and 4th Goldie. The beautiful weather made for a hungry group both days which enjoyed the delicious spiral baked ham prepared by Janet Siehndel. There were too many tasty side dishes and desserts to name. However, Janet brought her tasty beans, Connie and Photo: James Janell brought their tuna pasta salad (my personal favorite dishes). Saturday was Lisa Costello s birthday and Joyce Szymanski brought a delicious decorated carrot cake to celebrate. Photographer Ule James snapped some outstanding pictures during the weekend and posted his shots at = gle.com/ /01sep1 2CWAWI?authkey=Gv1sRgCKKzlprym6HqdA and /02Sep12CWAWI?authkey=Gv1sRgCI2J2qqL58fTFw We would like to thank all those participants who generously donated prizes. The trophy table was full with a wide variety of prizes. Thank you also to those who helped officiate during both days of exciting racing. The weekend could not have been a success without everyone working together and offering to help. A big thank you especially to John Shebesta, who operated the boxes on Saturday and Ule James who did honors on Sunday; Janet Siehndel our dutiful Paddock Judge and Queen of the Food; Fred Luehrs who ran the lure on Sunday and entertained us with the power horn; our regular foul judges Dean Wegner and Mary Huff; the dedicated line judges, Susan Cook all day Saturday and Lynn Ollswang all day on Sunday. Thank you to everyone (especially Peggy Berg) who helped catch or take down someone else s Whippets. You are all great! It is truly a group effort to put on these events and we thank you all. Hope to see all of you back at Arthur s Acres next year. - submitted by Doug & Mary Beth Arthur

28 GEORGIA RAG RACING Hull, GA September 22/23, 2012 G RR s September CWA Bash lived up to its name. What a great weekend of whippets, friends and southern hospitality! If you have not joined us in Georgia you are really missing out. Over all this weekend two dogs finished their ARX titles, one dog earned their DPC title, a NARX2 and we unveiled our new Best Overall Combined Conformation/Race meet winner award. The beautiful ribbons for the award were made by Peppi A. Greco and a beautiful whippet print was given to each winner. Saturday we ran 17 adult dogs and three puppies with one FTE adult. The high point races were tough as expected and it was a constant battle between Beau and Ziggy as to who would get to that bunny first. Beau (3 NARX) was our meet winner for the day followed by Ziggy (1 NARX) with Joey close behind, coming in third in the meet. Our FTE Oen earned a respectable 8.5 meet points and will start as a C on Sunday. The ARX points were split between Goldie and Flynn who tied with 13 points; the 2 ARX points finished Goldie s ARX title and left Flynn needing.5 of a point to finish. Photo: James We had a large entry for Jan Liscombe to judge on Saturday. I can only assume everyone wants a chance at the Best Overall Combined Conformation/Race meet award. The award is based on the dog s placement in conformation and the race meet, rewarding the dogs that excel in both venues. Jan s conformation placements were 1. Ginger, 2. Cora, 3. Jackson and 4. Rye GRR s first Best Overall Combined award went to Jackson, owned by Watkins/ Latimer /McNulty. A big congrats to Jackson and his owners and breeders!! We had some great turtle prizes to give away and the hotly contested turtle went to Kenzie! All of our puppies ran like the big dogs! They all come out of the boxes and ran straight never looking back! Very soon we will see them as adults. Photo: James

29 GEORGIA RAG RACING Hull, GA September 22/23, 2012 Saturday night GRR hosted a BBQ at the house with chicken wings and chicken by Chef Shawn and lots of sides and good eats to go with it! Thanks to everyone who made the day a success, we could not have done it without everyone s help! Sunday we ran 18 adult dogs and two puppies. Our meet winner was decided by only two meet points, and Joey had the edge today, winning two out four high point race to make him our meet winner and a new NARX2!! Ziggy and Beau tied and shared the 1 NARX point. Sage had excellent runs and box breaks. Another large entry for conformation made things tough for judge Teresa Morrison of Cross Track Kennels. Her first place dog and new DPC was Cora, with Elsa, Joey and Sage rounding up the remaining placements. Photo: James Flynn finished his ARX title today by earning the top set of ARX points and Oen, our FTE from Saturday, got his first ARX point and finished in the top 10!! The coveted turtle went to Elsa, who was fighting hard with Kenzie to win, and she was not going to let Kenzie have it two days in a row. Way to go Elsa!! Chance was our first place puppy again and Our Best Overall Combined award for Sunday went to Jan Liscombe and Joey. Congrats to Joey and his owners and breeders!! I want to thank everyone who helped to make the weekend a success! Thank you to Chris and Dave for their hospitality and the Watkins family for the use of their field. You will be seeing the new award at our next race meet December so we hope to see everyone here in Georgia. -submitted by Mary Hawemann Photo: James

34 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WHIPPET FANCIERS ASSOCIATION Suisun, CA September 22/23, 2012 T he weather has been incredible for the NCWFA's 2012 Race Meets. This was a very small race meet, we had 13 whippets on Saturday and 20 on Sunday. Once again the weekend was dominated by the House of Wyndsor. Jean's Bolt is two days closer to his Supreme racing title, winning both meets. The top five each day were Wyndsors or Wyndsor decedents - no surprise there. Niko made his way to the high point several times both days and did a great job. Frank's Arrow picked up top ARX points both days coming in third on Saturday and second on Sunday. Barbara's Harley showed he's got the stuff by picking up 2 ARX on Sunday. Congratulations to Frank and Barbara. Sunday brought us more whippets, but less people to work, but we made it through in good spirits. But what was a surprise was Janet's Gnat-E coming in first in her race in the fourth program. I thought for sure this must have been an error so I called back to the finish line and they confirmed the #3 dog came in first. I still didn't believe them so I asked Janet, and sure enough, she came in first and wrecked her chances at the most appreciated award. We had three FTEs on Saturday Turbo and Guin's Imari got the most appreciated on Saturday with a perfect day of last place runs. But she had fun.

35 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WHIPPET FANCIERS ASSOCIATION Suisun, CA September 22/23, 2012 Zipper, owned by Valerie Barnard, and Nigel owned by Jen Haas. These guys did a great job their first time out and I look forward to seeing them run at our next meet. Suede took seventh place on Sunday and showing that he's a rock solid racer. I want to thank the veterans Scout, Mr. Darcy, and Colby for helping us make 20 dogs on Sunday. Ok, let me write about our conformation matches. On Saturday, I was the judge and I had five nice dogs to judge. I think we all I want to thank Brad for bringing the trailer, running the lure and making friends with the head grounds keeper, in the hopes that we'll be able to keep using Solano Collage. I also want to thank Russell for helping with field set-up and take down on Saturday and running the boxes. Rick and Kim are incredible helpers, ready to do whatever needs to be done. Our practices on Sunday were the best run practices I've ever seen, thanks to Kim. Jean, thanks as usual for all the great prizes. love our little Tessa, but that cute cattiwompous ear put her in third place behind Jade and Niko; Janet's Bessie was 4th. As the judge, I have to say even though my entry was small, they were all really nice dogs. - submitted by Kellee Livingston Guin Borstel judged Sunday and had a big entry of seven males and three females. She looked at the boys and then the girls and narrowed the potential winners to two bitches and two dogs. Hallie came in first, followed by Niko, Tessa, and then Turbo in fourth.

40 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC September 29/30, 2012 W ell I really don't know where to start with this one. So I guess I will just start at the beginning... Things have been running very smoothly all year and we have been having great entry numbers with lots of people coming and helping out at the meet. So we thought there shouldn't be any problem holding a meet in October when Linda and Steve are gone... Our numbers were looking good up until the morning of the meet when poor Barb called to say that she had to cancel last minute. Luckily I was able to send a message to Beth early enough that she was able to bring two extras so we could make 20 dogs. When we arrived at the school, we found that all the main gates we use to access the field had been padlocked with locks for which we didn't have the keys. Luckily there were two gates we could open that were big enough to fit the trailer and boxes through. With the secondary gates closed it would mean a long day with a lot more walking then we usually do, but at least we got in! Photo: Szabo Photo: Szabo On the plus side we couldn't have asked for better weather this time of year; the sun was out, but with it being October, the temperatures stayed nice and mild all day long. There was some major construction happening on the freeway so there was some worry for the people coming from Vancouver could get suck for hours on the bridge. Thankfully there were only minor delays and everyone was able to make it in time for roll call. However there was one close call at the border, with Beth almost not making it into the country, as she had lost her passport and only realized when she pulled up to the border agent s booth. However, this being very neighbourly Canada, we welcome anyone in, we just can t guarantee you will be able to get home... Please don't try this at home, and if you do make sure to remember your politicians, as there could be a test. With only 20 dogs racing, and even fewer bodies able to work, we were very shorthanded with loaders and catchers, but once we got a system and plan down we managed to pull it off without too many hitches.

41 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC September 29/30, 2012 Photo: Szabo The first program went off well with some close races and once again very tight competition for those ARX points. The second program also started off just fine and almost finished that way, but then the sprinklers went off... I think they started while the high point race was being loaded into the boxes. We waited for the closest set to turn away from spraying directly on the track and then went for it. All the dogs seemed to take it in stride, and made it down the track none the worse for wear. The sprinklers then proceeded to work their way down the track, turning on in intervals every ten to fifteen minutes. One set of sprinklers turned on just as the lure operator Peter turned to chat with the line judges and he got a nice shower up his backside. Another set turned on just as the catchers were going to get their dogs and all those involved got a nice shower. In the end we were able to get through all four programs without getting everyone too wet and, well, the weather did call for a chance of showers. Saturday s meet winner was Marshall who won all four programs picking up 4 NARX points. Following him was Merlin in second spot, picking up 2 NARX points. The ARX points once again all came down to who placed where in the final program, with Hokum, Jimmy and Audrey battling it out in the high point race and Cobalt needing to place first in semi race. Hokum was able to hold off Jimmy and Audrey to take home the top set of 4 ARX points. He was really on fire today, challenging all those looking for points. The bottom set of 2 ARX points went to Jimmy, who finished fifth in the high point race, holding off Cobalt, who tied with Fred in the semi. Saturday s match judge was Shawna Mckay, who had six lovely boys to choose from, with her match winner being Hokum followed by Cobalt, Jonah and Tristan. All that was left now was to hand out prizes, pack everything up and hope for a much smoother day tomorrow. Sunday was another very nice fall day with lots of sun and mild temps. We had a slightly larger meet of 24 adult starters. This time we were ready to battle the sprin-

42 RACING FOR FUN Abbotsford, BC September 29/30, 2012 klers, and came prepared with buckets and rocks to cover those near the track. The only downside was when we went to remove the bucket you would get very wet feet from all the water that was trapped inside. Ah the things we do for our dogs... With the sprinkler situation under control things went a lot more smoothly. We were still a little short handed when it came to finding enough loaders, catchers and line judges, but we made it work as best as we could. The racing was hot, again, with many of the programs having full 6 dog races resulting in very few meet points separating placements. Sunday s meet winner was Marshall, who won all four programs and took home 4 NARX points. Following in the second spot was Zuri, who took home 2 NARX points. Now the real excitement was once again to be found in the race for those ARX points, with it all coming down to the final program. The semi race had no finished dogs in it so Jimmy, Cobalt, Audrey, Bode and Becca all needed to win this race in hopes of picking up some points. Jimmy was able to hold off Cobalt and win the race, so now it all depended on where Olive and Hokum finished in the high point. The high point race was also a tough one, with Portia and Pete in there to really make Olive and Hokum work for it. The finish was a close one with Olive coming across the line just behind Portia, in fourth place, followed by Hokum and Pete. This meant that Olive would take the top set of 4 ARX points and Jimmy would take the bottom set of 2 ARX points. It has been a very exciting year watching all the very tough racing for those ARX points, I think we now have six dogs needing 5 or less points to finish their title. Sunday s match judge was Ellen Kerfers, who had a nice sized entry of 12 whippets to choose from. Her match winner was Hokum followed by Lucy, Tristan and Lovey. I would like to thank all those who came out and supported this meet and all others this year. I would like to make a special thank you to all our line judges, box and lure operators, loaders and catchers, BBQ cooks and those who help set up and take down the field. Pulling of a race meet is a team effort and I could not do it without all your hard work, so thank you. Our last meet may have ended on a crazy note but it really has been a great year of racing for fun with lots of new dogs and people joining racing for the first time. Looking forward to another exciting year of racing and hope to see you all in Vancouver for the CWA National. -submitted by Jennifer Szabo

47 TULSA SIGHTHOUND ASSOCIATION Vinita, OK October 20/21, 2012 T ulsa Sighthound Association held our very first CWA race meet on the weekend of October 20th & 21st in Vinita, Oklahoma. The meet was hosted on the Couch Ranch. Saturday started out a pretty cool morning with most of the whippets sporting some sort of fleece. There were a few entrants who took the long way to the races but all showed up in good spirits ready to start the day. There were a total of 30 whippets entered on Saturday with a good amount of those being FTE s. We also had a nice disbursement of each of the graded dogs as well. All of us with TSA were thrilled with the support from out of our area. Dogs came from Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansaw, Nebraska and Kansas. The racing went well with all the dogs sorting themselves out through the day, other than a few disruptions from Kristal s back pocket ringing with Redneck Woman. We had to teach some of our northern friends the statement It s a Southern Thang. And around these parts We Live It!

48 TULSA SIGHTHOUND ASSOCIATION Vinita, OK October 20/21, 2012 On Sunday we started 26 dogs and three puppies. With all of the previous days FTE s now sorted through the grades, we started with seven races in the first program. By the 4th program we were down to 24 dogs and 4 races. Once again Kazi ruled the day with 29 points and 4 NARX points. Sunday s top ARX points were taken by Cash Kazi showed us what CWA Racing is all about scoring 29 points and earning 5 NARX points. But Beyonce, owned by Libby Rice & Lori Wilson, proved that the FTEs at this meet were a force to be reckoned with, scoring 5 ARX points and 1 NARX point! Also an FTE, Serena scored 3 ARX points! The match was judged by Lisa Stewart and there were certainly some interesting entries I m not sure who was wielding the wicket, but I m not sure this last dog could truly measure in. Sunday s match placements were Cash, Travis, Hazel & Serena The match was judged by Dana Moran. She had a nice ring of qualifiers as well as supplemental entries. There were a total of 17 entrants in the match. Dana placed the dogs: Caleb, Jersey, Beyonce, and Moto. Saturday concluded with a wonderful pot luck supper. You haven t eaten until you ve had fresh beef burgers from The Couchs own cattle or Theresa Buzzard s DELICIOUS baked beans served in a cast iron skillet, and even our northern friend Lisa Costello made a dish that no one could get enough of. Her broccoli salad was out of this world! Sunday the TSA group had a better idea of how to efficiently run a day at the races (almost too efficiently). The day was a little warmer No fleece to be seen. It was quite a bit windier (this is Oklahoma after all) but the dogs were just as fast. Special thanks go out to Mary Beth Arthur for all her help on our first weekend. She was there to answer every question we had on sorting, placing and scoring, all with a smile on her face, although sometimes we think it was more of a grin! A great big YeeHaw goes out to Mary Beth! - submitted by Donna Bennett

53 LAGNIAPPE RACING CLUB Bush, LA October 27/28, 2012 O ur second meet, held at Deborah and Maurice Bahm s property in Bush, LA, could not have been with nicer weather. Highs were in the mid 60 s even though it was cloudy on Saturday. We welcomed several long distance teams to Louisiana as well as a few newcomers from the south of Texas. It was so nice to have such a good turnout! We had 30 dogs entered both days with seven FTEs, four A dogs, four B dogs, ten C dogs, and three D dogs. Love seeing new dogs and new owners enjoying CWA racing. Photo: James The low for me was learning how to officially give a DQ to a dog and owner which is not part of the job I enjoy since I ve been on the receiving end myself. Hopefully, he can be schooled back up to par and run with us again. Zeke Talbert was a wonderful box operator both days. Maurice worked his magic with the lure both days as well. Photo: James I must say I learned lots of finite details on Saturday for sure and thank Ule and Jennifer Smith for guiding me through. The high points of the meet were the FTE Vader finishing the meet in 3rd place and earning 5 ARX/1 NARX. River was our meet winner for 5 NARX and Joey took 3 NARX. Jennifer Smith s Jackson picked up the second set of 3 ARX points and is closing in on his ARX! Deborah Bahm s Preacher picked up his first ARX point. Our conformation judge was Myrna Cagle, a long time standard poodle breeder. We had 12 entries for her to go over in the match. She placed Cora 1st, Joey 2nd (for his DPCX!!!!!), Rose 3rd and Jackson 4th. We did get to warm our tummies with a brief lunch break of incredible Louisiana chicken and sausage gumbo with potato salad. Photo: James

54 LAGNIAPPE RACING CLUB Bush, LA October 27/28, 2012 Sunday started way too early for most of us but we wanted to get travelers back on the road as soon as we could. It was a cool and sunny day to be enjoyed by all. We started with five A dogs, six B dogs, eleven C Dogs and seven D dogs. We had a newcomer take the meet and make his family very proud. Vader was our meet winner for 5 ARX and 5 NARX and is well on his way to both titles. Joey was 2nd for 3 NARX, and River took the last NARX point. Jackson took the second set of 3 ARX Photo: James I just want to thank everyone for supporting us and coming to our meet. I think we made some new friends and hopefully have them coming back for more fun. -submitted by Catherine Odom Photo: James points and finished his title in a very rapid fashion. Way to go Jackson! Alley, a Williams dog, took the last ARX point but it s her first weekend running and her first ARX point. Everyone ran well with no major injuries to end the day. With several people on the road already our conformation part was smaller than Saturday but Judy Weiland was our judge and still had several to go over. She placed Flynn 1st, Cora 2nd, Paisley 3rd (her 2nd DPC leg) and Joey 4th. Photo: James
