The good news is that things are going quite well. We had hoped to sell 48 classes and ended up selling 49, so we split up one of the larger classes. A change for this year is that we will have separate voting for the Muscle Mustang classes and all other classes. This addresses the complaint of too much walking to vote on all show classes. For the first time in 28 years, we will not have goodie bags. Over the past several years, all we have been able to attain are advertisements, decals, and ink pens. This is embarrassing to be giving out so it has been discontinued. We will, however, still have our pre-show BBQ on the preceding Saturday. If you have not collected sponsorship money please do so before the show. As always, we need all of our members to be available the day of the show as we need many hands to make this all work. O ur club has been asked to display our cars and trucks at Sinclair Ford on June 28th. Sinclair is our major sponsor and we need as many members rides in attendance as we can get. Club member, Ron Schodroski is our contact to Sinclair and would appreciate the help of our members to fill the lot. We will meet at Sinclair after 9am. We will have more details available at our board and membership meetings this month. This is a club event for points. O ur board of directors meeting will be held on June 4th at Sybergs and our membership meeting will be held on June 11th at the Sports Café. Both meetings start at 7 pm. Come early if you plan to eat. We have two club cars shows for points this month. The Mustang Club of St. Louis will hold their all Ford show that will be held at the Museum of Transportation on June 7th. We will meet at the Sugar Creek Park at 9 am and we will be leaving at 9:15 pm. The park is located at Dougherty Ferry Road and Des Peres Road. Exit Highway 270, west to the intersection at the traffic light. Turn right to entrance. A new show for our club will be the 6th Annual Midwest Rides for Guides Car Show that will be held at the Machinist s Hall located at St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton. The June 22nd show benefits Guide Dogs of America. No caravan for this show as we will meet at the show location. Club member Burt Pennington would appreciate your support.

2 O n April 26th, twenty plus members of our club headed to Hermann, Missouri for the 8th annual Shelby Fest. The weather started out great and the turnout was outstanding. The event is now open to all Shelby s, Mustangs, and interesting Fords and there was plenty of Shelby iron to view. Some of our members arrived early but fourteen of our cars were able to park together. The bulk of the show cars were late model Shelby's and Mustangs but there were a few classics present including Jack Andersons 1968 KR. Fox bodied ponies were well represented by our club with four in attendance. As mid-afternoon arrived, so did the clouds and many of our members headed east to get home before any possible storm could arrive. Bart McNail who went to the banquet noted that it was announced that this was the last year that this event will be held at Hermann and that for 2015 it will move to Jefferson City. Here is a picture from the Mustang 50th that I thought you might want to put in the newsletter. It's of Donald Farr and wife Pam sitting down, and standing next to them is Kyle Carraway of Shelby Fest and his wife Tracy, Jim and I, and next to us are hopefully new members Reg and Mary Stockwell. Reg was also one of the "instigators" of Shelby Fest. He makes parts for Shelby and American Muscle. Mr. Farr was also at Shelby Fest was a guest speaker. I didn't know who he was, but apparently he is quite a celebrity. We were proud to be in his company.

4 Stan Zoellner-3rd Dan Kelly-2nd Mike McCallister G reat weather was featured at the May 3rd, 16th annual Valley of Flowers Car Show. The show had 298 entries and large crowds of spectators. Our clubs presence was felt as we had 14 members cars in attendance. Our group started the morning with a stop at a local donut shop for some fabulous empty calories. Even Paula Goodrich made it on time which was great considering the bogus directions that she had been given. Many of our members won trophies or plaques and several were in display only. The crowded streets made leaving early mostly impossible but trophy presentation went on with few problems. 5 TOUR O ur club held our C a l o r i e s Unlimited Tour on May 17th. That day we took a tour of the Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Company and did some serious chocolate testing and purchasing. The place is spotless but sadly, there is no candy production on the weekends. We followed up with a trip to Rigazzi s for lunch and it was well worth the trip. The day concluded with some of us checking out the Show- Me Mustang Club s Quick Lane charity fundraiser that was held at Pundmann Ford. We thank Sandy Carey for setting up this high calorie day. O ur club was represented again this year in the Valley of Flowers Parade. Members cars and family in the parade included Dan Kelly, John Sullivan, Jake Turnipseed, Jerry Grimmer, Brian Berger, and Ed Mauzy. 6 T he Salute to the Troops Car Show was held on May 18th. The show was a benefit for the VFW Post 5077 in O Fallon, Missouri. Our club was able to provide 21 of the 67 entrees. Club members, Kenny and Gwen Simms and Mark and Sandy Carey, plus Bart McNail helped out with the show. Lynette and Scott Lewis generously donated their time to chair the event. Since it was a benefit show, there were not many trophies but two of our members, Kenny Simms and Jake Turnipseed, did win in their respective classes. We thank all of our members who were to support our troops that day. 7 Our winner at our May membership meeting was Barb Dennis. Barb went home with an additional $40. L isted below are the points standings as of the Chocolate Company tour. They do NOT include the car show sponsor points which should be added next month which will drastically change the standings. S teve Dennis submitted this photo that he took at the Charlotte Mustang Celebration. Thanks Steve. Club member, Don Branson, has had a setback on his recovery from his burns. He has moved to another location for treatment and things should be looking better soon. Our condolences go out the Jerry Grimmer on the passing of his mother, Lucille Grimmer who passed away last month. This month we welcome two new members. Shawn LeBlount and his wife Angelina reside in Jonesburg. Shawn drives a 2007 Mustang convertible. Also joining is Russell Kuhlman. Russell lives in Foley, Missouri and drives a 2005 Excursion.
