This event was revised last year and again will benefit BackStoppers. Started in 1959, The BackStoppers provides needed support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of all local and county police officers, firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs and volunteer fire protection units, who have lost their lives performing their duty. The BackStoppers provides assistance to counties served by Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C in Missouri and Illinois State Police District 11 in Illinois and Cape Girardeau County in Missouri. This event will be held with our friends from the Show-Me Mustang Club. Both clubs provide the funding for advertisement, the disc jockey and all of the concessions. We will need members from both clubs to arrive by 3 pm to help set-up. We will also set assignments as needed but this is not a heavy work project. The cruse will end by 8:30 pm and we will need members to stay for a short time to help clean up. Our concessions will include hotdogs, chips and drinks. We could fill the lot if just the members of both clubs would participate so please try to keep that date open for this very important fundraiser. As with all of our events, we need our members to participate. ` Pur Performance is located north of the Cave Springs exit from Highway I-70 n Truman Blvd.

2 A new event for our club this year was the annual ShelbyFest that was held in Hermann Missouri on the weekend of April 29-May 1st. Our club traveled to the event with the Show- Me Mustang Club. Although only Mustangs, Shelbys, and Cobras were allowed to enter, some of our members showed up just to spectate although all members who attended received points. The event grows each year and had about 200 entries with many nice cars and trucks parked outside the show area. The show was covered by several of the Mustang and Ford magazines and is quickly becoming a national event. Cars came from as far away as Florida, Canada and Colorado. This was really a nice spring event.

4 T his month, we welcome new member, John Peluso. John resides in Ballwin, Missouri and is the proud owner of a 2006 Mustang GT. John was sponsored by board member, Bill Giese. Our second new member joined at the Elsberry s Classics on Wheels Car Show. Michael McCallister shows a 1969 Mustang Coupe and also resides in Ballwin Missouri. Michael was sponsored by John Sullivan. Also joining was Jay Lafaire. Jay lives in Wentzville and owns a powered GT. Jay was sponsored by Jack Greiwe. We welcome you and encourage you to be active in your new club. A pologies go out to club member, Mark Wisbey whose name was spelled wrong in previous editions. Also, Bart McNail s truck was listed in last month newsletter as black. Of course it is in reality blue. Sorry guys! The Southern Illinois Mustang Association s all Ford Show will be held on July 16th at Roberts Ford in Alton Illinois. We will be meeting at the UAW Hall on Pershall Road in Hazelwood next to the old Ford Plant. This is a club event. W hile many of our members were at the ShelbyFest, some headed to the Lake of the Ozarks for the Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals. This is a very large event that drew close to 1,100 cars trucks and motorcycles. Members from our club attending were from upper left clockwise are Jimmy Steiner, Terry Koch, Eric Hohl and Jeff Hohl. 5 W e will hold Go- Kart Races and a JJ s Cruise on June 11th at Boschertown Grand Prix Karting. Located at 3500 North Highway in St Charles. We will meet at the track at 1:30 pm. After a couple hours of racing, we will finish the day by heading up to JJ s for their car cruise that starts at 4 pm. We will have a sign up sheet at our June 8th membership meeting or you can contact any board member if you plan to attend. This a points event. O ur Club will be attending the Mustang Club of St. Louis 2nd annual car show that will be held on June 18th. The location of the show has been changed from last year as it has been moved to the St. Louis County s Museum of Transportation that is located at 3015 Barrett Station Road. The show will be held on the lower parking lot. Fords Unlimited members can travel to the show as a group if desired. We will be meeting at Sugar Creek Park located at Dougherty Ferry Road and Des Peres Ross. Exit Highway 270, west to the intersection at the traffic light. The park will be to your right. The car show profits will be used to benefit BackStoppers. We will meet at 9 am and be leaving at 9:15 sharp!! The Mustang Club of St. Louis has supported our club events and we would like a great turnout that Saturday to represent our club. This will be a club event for points. O ur club has been invited to be part of the Classic Cars & Warbirds event that will be held at Smartt Field in St. Charles on June 25th. There will be 5 or 6 car clubs in attendance and we would like a good showing from the Blue Oval fans. We will be meeting with the Show-Me Mustang Club at Fastlane Classic Cars located just off North Hwy. 94 at 9:30 am and be leaving at 9:45 am. If interested, a lunch will be available that will include a ticket for 2 hotdogs, chips, a cookie, and a drink. The cost for the lunch is $5 and is a fundraiser for the Missouri Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. There will be several classic aircraft in attendance and you can get in the belly of a Mitchell, B25. The event will be open from 10 am until 3 pm but you can leave when you want. This is not a club event but is well worth the time, especially for those who have not attended these events in the past. We will need a head count so please let us know if you are coming.

6 O n May 7th, our club h e a d e d north to Elsberry Missouri for the annual Classics on Wheels Car Show. A l t h o u g h the weather threatened, the raindrops stayed away and a successful car show was able to be held. We all have known the disappointment of having a long planned event curtailed by Mother Nature. Despite the rain several of our club members were in attendance to represent our club.
