3 President s Message What a month of July this has been. Thank you, Vince, for the fabulous car show at Montgomery Village. As always it was a great success and everyone had such a great time. I would also like to thank everyone who helped with and attended the Lei d Back Luau. Nanette Chuck for working tirelessly in getting things together, Con Faraudo, the master chef, for doing the cooking, Donna Jones for the use of her grill, Larry Summerfield for finding the exciting tour route and Steve & Debbie Cavalli for arranging the hula dancers and performing. A special thanks also to Steve & Debbie Cavalli for helping with cleanup and putting things away. Thank you all for a great Luau.I look forward to seeing all of you at the overnighter. Rich The next club meeting will be held on August 11, 2016 at the Round Table Pizza at 2065 Occidental Rd., Santa Rosa REMTC National Tour At the national club meeting that took place in Albuquerque, a vote was taken and we were approved to be the provider for the 2018 National Tour. There will be at least two National tours in 2018 to celebrate the 110th year of the model T. The tour committee met and reviewed what went well and what did not on the Albuquerque tour. In Albuquerque we talked with several of the tour chairs and (after the dust settles) we will be in contact with them for ideas and the steps they went thru to put on their tour. Jack Mulkey Great Event in San Jose! September 11 - San Jose, California. The 16th Annual Antique Autos in History Park, presented by the Santa Clara Valley Model T Ford Club and History San José, will take place on Sunday, September 11 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This event fills History Park (Kelley Park, 635 Phelan Ave., San Jose, CA) with stock antique autos, fire equipment, bicycles and motorcycles of all makes from 1900 to Early Lincolns will be featured this year. Also located on the grounds will be the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. There will be antique crafts demonstrated and antique collectibles displayed. Admission to the event is $5, and free for participants and HSJ members. 5 Redwood Empire Model T Club General Meeting, July 7th 2015 Meeting held at Round Table Pizza, Marlow Rd., S.R. Secretary s Report : The June 2, 2016 Meeting Minutes were read by Nanette Chuck, approved by Pete Rich, and 2nd by Clare Pearson.. Treasurers Report: was read by Steve Cavali, approved by Vince Gregoire, seconded by Vince Gregoire. Membership Report: Larry Summerfield reported that we have a new member, Bill Rothman. Andy Clary suggested establishing a Student membership by and a discussion followed. Andy moved that we have a Student Membership category and Jeanne Nelson Seconded it. Members voted and it was passed. Tour Report Steve Vining reported that the events for the Overnighter will start on Wednesday. Ginny noted that there are two rooms left. Richard Chuck reported that the Luau event will include a roasting pig, a tour, and games. Special Events Vince Gregoire reported on the fun at the Montgomery Village event. Editor s Report Ginny Rich reported she sent out 30 newsletters by postal mail. Sunshine Report Pam Johnson reported that she sent out two cards last month. Ginny Rich reported on the passing of Rosemarie DiCarli. Linda Mori read a card from the McCoy family. Old Business Andy Clary reported the MTFCA Board voted that REMTC got the National Tour for Members shared the tips they learned from their recent National Tour, and ideas were discussed. Robin Summerfield reported on the Christmas party at the Quail Inn. The menu is Salmon, Ribeye, Veggie Wellington, Caesar salad, Berry cobbler for dessert, and there is a corkage fee. New Business Richard Chuck reported that due to the Overnighter event, the August meeting shall be postponed until the eleventh and will be at their residence unless another venue can be located. Donna Jones suggested the Round Table Pizza on Occidental Road. (Update: the meeting will be held at the Round Table Pizza on Occidental Road on August 11). 7 Richard & Nanette Chuck planned a wonderful fun filled Lei d Back Tour and shared their theme decorated home for the enjoyment of REMTC members and their Model T s. The weather was perfect and the food delicious. Thanks to the Chucks for all their hard work putting this unique tour together. Larry and Robin Summerfield mapped out and led the group on some of our best Model T roads. 7
