Bring a covered dish or dessert to share. Hot Dogs, burgers, & Soft drinks will be provided by the club.the meeting will take place after eating. It starts at 7pm, but people can start coming anytime after 6 We will be accepting driver names for our annual awards and for the hall of fame so please try to attend this meeting!!! 2 SECRETARY REPORT by JEAN COLEY Notes from the Monday July 18, 2016 meeting at Truck World Mall. 12 members were in attendance. The minutes and Treasurer Report were given. We have $ in our Treasury. Membership reported on July 2, 2016 we had 634 regular members, 24 Honorary and 15 Media with a total Membership of 673. Our next meeting will be the picnic at Liberty Park in North Jackson. Everyone is to bring a covered dish and/or desert. The club will furnish the Burgers and Hot Dogs, buns and drinks. We will be getting there around 5:30 August 16 th. With members arriving around 6pm and eat around 7 pm. Our Face book has 994 likes. It is doing very well. Mercer club night went very well and celebrated the Birthday of the Mercer kids club. Deann Byers and Jim Wolfe presented the plaques. Spitzer Raceway put the club up in a suite and furnished them with Pop and Pizza. Dan Allen presented the plaques. August 13 th is Deerfield Club night. It s the Phil Wertz Memorial. August 20 th is Sandusky club night. August 6 th will be Wayne County club night. Jim Balentine Sr. made announcements. There was no as we had a small group. We will take nominations AND THE REASON THEY DESERVE THE AWARD until OCT 1st 2016 so we can have a good list in the OCTOBER newsletter with the ballots and we will need those ballots back BEFORE the OCTOBER 18TH meeting!! Please send any nominations to any officer or to our facebook page so we can begin reviewing thelist. (Rookie of year,hard luck, most improved,owner,sportsmanship,and driver of the year). We now have a committee to review each nomination and a list will be made for members to vote on instead of a write in. YOUR VOICE MATTERS!!!

3 PRESIDENT'S REPORT by Matt Wertz Twin State's annual picnic is this month, so we hope you plan to attend. Details are elsewhere in the newsletter, but let's just say it's always a good time. So mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 16. Arrive around 6:00, and we will eat around 7:00. And with that, Twin State returns to its regular scheduled meetings of the third Tuesday of each month, after adjusting our meetings so not to conflict with some big races that were scheduled in June and July. This past month was very busy for Twin State with Club Nights. Thank you to all members who participated and helped. Jack Coley got things organized for us at Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh Motor Speedway on July 9 and got some fine people to help with presentations. Thank you to Matt Miley! Stepping up to the plate next was Vice President Dale Miles who did yeoman's job for the next four Club Nights. Starting at Mercer Raceway Park on July 16, the Club had a grand time with Don and Jess Kennedy, Jim and Donna Balentine, and Deanne Byers all helping with the program that included a very successful Mercer Kids Club Night headed up by the Kennedy's. Mercer bossmsn Bill Altman and his crew kept asking us if we needed anything and we thank them. The next day, Dale headed up the contingent at Spitzer Motorsports Park (Mansfield) on July 17. Mansfield's Chris Mize gave the Club the VIP treatment, giving us an air conditioned suite and complimentary pizza and soft drinks! The Modified portion of the show was top notch at the impressive facility, with a huge field. And thanks to Danny Allen who assisted with Club presentations. The following weekend, record heat did not deter Dale or over 100 Club members who took part in Club Night at Sharon Speedway. Dale and wife Judy headed up the Club table at the entrance. Board Member Tonja Pemberton came armed with her mother Kathy, son Greg Schmied and his better half Kenzie Ambrose, who helped with presentations and brought a ton of Glo-Sticks to pass out! Cheryl Dellinger and son Dennis threw out the Club frisbees, with Dennis also helping with presentations. Bob and Aaron Davis were lending a helping hand as usual! Thanks to the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila families, and to Sharon GM Dave Willoughby for the red carpet treatment! Things continued on the upbeat path the following evening at Eriez Speedway with the track making us feel like VIPs. Dale was helped at Eriez by the Preston brothers. New member Mariella Frajia made her first Club presentation and again Dennis Dellinger was a big help! As usual it was a great show at Eriez and we thank the Rohrer family for their hospitality. So nice seeing so more Club members stepping up to the plate. If you'd like to be an active part of our Club Nights, join us at Wayne County Speedway August 8, Deerfield Raceway August 13, Sandusky Speedway August 20 and Lake County Speedway Sept 10. While on the subject of more members contributing, it is not too early to consider a possible run for officer or board member. A few long time dedicated and invaluable active members have indicated they may be stepping down from their posts and the end of this year Twin State will need more dedicated members to step up to the plate. Thank you for considering it. Nominations are coming quickly in the fall. Looking forward to seeing many of you at our picnic or a Club Night. Until then, be nice.

Over the years, the club has evolved into a membership of about 200 people. Some activities of the club involve fund raising to benefit young people with life-threatening illnesses and Hospice of the Valley. In the last 10 years the club has donated about $90,000 to benefit recipients and Hospice of the Valley. The club fills its warm weather month activities with participation in parades, visits to nursing homes, and day long and overnight cruises to various locations throughout Ohio and
