2 July 4. August 31 - August - 8. August About Generation Handball Generation Handball is a handball festival for children and young people between 10 and 19 years of age. Play alone, bring your family and meet other handball players from around the world. Generation Handball is an international handball meeting for handball players around the globe. Children, young ones and their families have the opportunity to participate in the international handball festival in Viborg one of the most beautiful cities in Denmark. Generation Handball takes place for the fourth time from July 31 - August The organizers dream big, Generation Handball will grow further in participant numbers and event schedule and we are very much looking forward to welcoming yet more handball enthusiasts to Viborg in summer The tournament- and festival area The tournament- and festival area includes: 8-10 outdoor courts, 5 indoor courts, 2 beach handball courts, food court, entertainment, shops, event area with varying activities, discos, sports café, tent village, indoor sleeping facilities and much, much more. Also the tournament- and festival area is located right next to the city centre and shops in the midtown, so there are plenty of opportunities to explore the hometown of Generation Handball. In essence Generation Handball is a city of handball in the heart of Viborg with everything in close reach! Season preparation with an international touch The annual handball festival is very much an international event. During the exciting week in Viborg, the teams will meet players from many different nations. It is the perfect preparation for the upcoming season, offering practice matches as well as opportunities for teambuilding before the new season. For the whole family Generation Handball is also very much a family event. The Generation Handball family camping facilities are close to the festival area. Even before the official start of registration, many participating teams from Generation Handball 2016 had already indicated they are ready for Generation Handball 2017.We are thrilled about the positive feedback. 4 Program for the week Monday July 31 Meeting- and festival area opens. Teams from around the world arrive in Viborg and find their accommodation in the tent city or in schools/sports centers. Teams can explore the festival area and the city of rest of Viborg at their own pace on this day. Tuesday August 1 The tournament starts Tuesday morning. All matches are played in the unique Generation Handball area, so participants can reach any of the courts on foot and in a very short space of time. We meet at the Grand Opening Ceremony on Tuesday evening. The amazing party at Generation Handball 2017 features international music acts and entertainmen Wednesday August 2 The tournament continues throughout the day, at night the dancefloor opens for the Generation Handball disco. An event reserved to all coaches and leaders also takes place that night.

U19 finals will be played Friday evening. Saturday August 5 Saturday is the day of the big finals, where the last teams fight for the medals, closely followed by the prize-giving ceremony. Ultimately it is time to say farewell and see you in 2018.

The positive response of the crowds was incentive enough for the organizers to offer fun activities between matches for all participants as a permanent fixture at Generation Handball. Within the event area, the two beach handball courts, can be used at liberty during the Generation Handball week. Adjacent to the courts the zone has a cozy environment for relaxing in the chill out area and enjoy fresh brewed coffee or other refreshments. The event area is placed in the heart of the Generation Handball, and is thus the connecting link between the various sleeping facilities, sports centers and food courts. The area is placed in the center of Viborg in walking distance to all the highlights Viborg has to offer.
