February 14-17, 2020, more than 2800 athletes, coaches and officials from across Alberta will be in Airdrie to compete, learn and share experiences of a lifetime at the 2020 Alberta Winter Games. Ranging in age from 11 to 17 years old, the athletes will compete in one of 23 different sports for this exciting four-day event. As the host community, we are thrilled to welcome more than 6000 visitors to the City to share in this epic opportunity. These Games belong to everyone! I encourage individuals, groups and business to get involved and become a Champion of the Games as a spectator, volunteer, or sponsor. These Games are made possible with our Champions generous donations of time, money and services to inspire youth in sport. BE A PART OF THE LEGACY // LEADERSHIP The Games Society intends to expand their mandate to become the Airdrie Sport and Major Event Host Society effective March 1, As a Host Society, Airdrie will continue to be a vibrant and a welcoming host to many future events. // SUSTAINABILITY To offset our carbon-footprint, we will dedicate a future growth area for the youth of Airdrie by planting 500 seedlings in the community. Funds received through trees sales will be used for sustainable upgrading for the 2020 Games. // INNOVATION We are creating a website dedicated to sport tourism in our city, highlighting local businesses, cultural events, attractions and accommodations. This will include a centralized event calendar that can be used post-games for the sport community and visitors to Airdrie. 4 GAMES WEEKEND $40,000 Opening Ceremonies Sponsor SPORT The opportunity to sponsor a specific sport brings high value to our local community. Signage on site, and emcee opportunities during the sport specific opening and/or medal ceremonies. When possible, sponsors will have an opportunity to provide their own on-site brand activation.* *The valuation of the sport is based on the size of branding opportunity, visibility and number of participants in the specific sport $2020 each $5000 each A stunning night of celebration filled with live music, entertainment and a light show to be streamed live by Global TV. An anticipated attendance of approximately 6000 participants and spectators, the 2020 AWG Opening Ceremonies are sure to be a spectacle no one will forget! Along with high energy performances, we look to feature elements of projection light mapping and digital art within the ceremonies. Enhanced technology and equipment sponsorship is vital to take us into the future. Games CREW (Volunteer) Sponsor More than 1800 volunteers will be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Games. As the Games CREW Sponsor your logo will be incorporated into the volunteer Games attire, titled at the volunteer rally and appreciation events. Signage will also be available at the volunteer headquarters. Alberta Games Reception - $10,000 This By Invitation Only event kicks off the 2020 Alberta Winter Games with a toast and recognition from provincial and municipal government along with special guests. Athletes Dance - $7500 Athletes Dance into the future with a night to remember, making new friends and shared experiences along the way. More than 2000 athletes expected to be in attendance. 5 CULTURE $20,000 each 2020 Cheer Squad Sponsor The Airdrie 2020 Cheer Squad will be rallying the community starting July 1, 2019 through February 17, These young, talented dancers and artists will bring to life the Games experience by performing in schools, parades, and community events leading up to and during the Games Weekend. Sponsoring our Cheer Squad will provide exclusive recognition on uniforms and during formal cheer announcements. Logo recognition will also be available on the Cheer Squad transportation vehicles and website. Cultural Weekend Pass Sponsor As a part of the 2020 Alberta Winter Games weekend, Airdrie will showcase its arts and culture flare with a weekend of vibrant and captivating performances, events and spectacles. As the Cultural Weekend Pass Sponsor, logo and name recognition is available at each site, on the weekend wristbands,an opportunity to distribute a limited number of passes to the community, as well as, prominent placement on the online events calendar. Local Entertainment Package - 3-day, multi-venue During the three-day weekend, local talent will be hired and paid to entertain the crowds in heavy pedestrian traffic areas and each medal ceremony of the 2020 Alberta Winter Games. As sponsor of the Local Entertainment Package, your funding will allow Airdrie talent to shine. Recognition on entertainment signage, website profiles and photo booth backdrop. 6 SUSTAINABILITY LEGACY YOUTH $15,000 each $10,000 each $5000 each Fresh Air Carbon Off-set Sponsor Games Office Sponsor City Youth Ambassadors Airdrie 2020 Games Society will offset their carbon footprint with a future growth area in Airdrie. The trees planted in this area are a legacy program and fundraising investment for the youth of Airdrie. The sponsor of this program will be titles as X COMPANY, Focused on a Fresh Future. A digital website banner on the tree forest will be prominent, as well as, recognition through our social media platforms. The sponsor will have a key speaking role at the planting site. Games Fleet Sponsor The Games team is looking for a vehicle fleet to provide internal transportation needs for VIPs, Technical Officials and Games staff. Our ideal fleet sponsor is a supporter of environment efforts, with either an electric or hybrid fleet, or one that supports clean fuel initiatives. Giving Forward Sponsor With the Games requiring a large amount of equipment, tools, furniture, sport and event needs during the planning and over the event weekend, the Host Society is offering the opportunity for a Giving Forward Sponsor. As such, the Host Society will redistribute the inventory from the Games to nonprofits and community members on their behalf, with direct input from the sponsor. This allows the Host Society another opportunity for sustainable resource planning. Food Centre Sponsor Logo placement around the main food centre and sustainability features, including water trailers, compost stations and leftovers food rescue program giving back to the local community service agencies. Digital Wayfinding Information Kiosks Sponsor As we move into a tech-savvy future, the host community will be installing digital information kiosks as a prime local venue to provide access to the Alberta Winter Games website, including local information, at the touch of a finger. Logo placement opportunities available. Recycling Sponsor Add-on $1500 Corporate Airdrie will be offered the opportunity to ensure they are focused on the future with an Airdrie 2020 recycling bin that will be added to their offices. These recycling bins for beverage containers only, will be collected weekly with all proceeds going directly to the sustainability enhancements during the Games weekend. Support the Host Society with your sponsorship of the Games Office. Logo recognition will be featured on the Games Office front window, during the local parades and at fundraising events. This will be enhanced with our local recognition social media campaign leading up to and after the Games. Technical Officials & Coaches Sponsor A key part to the success of the Games are the dedicated individuals that give their time to provide mentorship, leadership and expertise to the athletes. By sponsoring the Technical Officials and Coaches, you will be highlighting your support in the development of all aspects of Games. Sponsorship recognition will be at the private Coaches Corner Dinner, an in-room hotel gift drop and signage at the Official Hotel of the Games where these vital team members will stay. We estimate more than 330 Technical Officials and 476 Coaches will be a part of the Airdrie 2020 Alberta Winter Games. Recharge Welcome Lounge Sponsor We will create and designate a lounge area for ticketed fans and zone parents to recharge, relax and re-energize in immersive and meaningful ways with each other. A part of the community support will include civic campaigns where Airdrie can open its doors as a welcoming host to the thousands who will be heading in for the Games. Who better to welcome our young athletes then the Airdrie Youth Ambassadors. As the face of the Games, our ambassadors go above and beyond to provide support at each of the venues and throughout the Games weekend. They are also representing the Host Society at rallies, parades and other key events leading up to the Games. Sponsorship include logo recognition on the ambassador uniforms. We estimate 50 ambassadors to be involved in our Games. Athletes Chill Zone Sponsor Throughout the Games weekend, working with local community agencies, athletes will be able to socialize with one another in immersive and meaningful ways. This includes photos booths, Wi-Fi gaming, board games and more. Airdrie Welcome: Peer-to-peer A part of the community support will include civic and school campaigns where Airdrie students will create cards of support to participating athletes. Working with in-school social groups, such as Me to We, students will make and sell cards that will be left in classrooms for the athletes. This also includes opportunities to purchase small zone colored cheer paraphernalia, such as, cowbells to add to the thrill of the spectator zone. To host a successful Alberta Winter Games, the Airdrie 2020 Alberta Winter Games Society is seeking private donations and sponsorships to help offset the operational costs to deliver this prestigious event. Monies raised are invested directly into the delivery of the Games, with special focus on our aspirational pillars. The purpose of this society is to act as a host community for the Alberta Winter Games, Feb and we intend to continue as a Sport Culture Tourism Society for Airdrie after these Games.
