2 OVERVIEW BE A PART OF THE LEGACY From February 14-17, 2020 over 2700 athletes, coaches and officials from across Alberta will be in Airdrie to compete, learn and share experiences of a lifetime at the 2020 Alberta Winter Games. Athletes ranging in age from 11 to 17 years old representing 23 different sports will befriend teammates and competitors from eight regional zones. // LEADERSHIP The Games Society intends to expand their mandate to become the Airdrie Sport and Culture Tourism Society effective March 1, As a Tourism Society, Airdrie can continue to be a vibrant and welcome host to many future events. These Games belong to everyone in the Airdrie region and I encourage you to get involved. Join in the excitement and take this opportunity to show with pride our vibrant community, our first-class facilities for sport and culture and Airdrie s genuine hospitality. Take this opportunity to invest in our most precious resource - the youth, the future of Alberta. // SUSTAINABILITY We will be planting 500 seedlings to offset our carbon-footprint and dedicate a future growth area for the youth of Airdrie. Funds from trees sales will be used for sustainable upgrading during the 2020 Games. These Games would not be possible without the individuals, groups and businesses that donate their time, money and services. Collectively, they are known as the Friends of the Games. 4 GAMES WEEKEND $40,000 Opening Ceremonies brought to you by ATCO A stunning night of celebration, streamed live by Global TV. Expected attendance SPORT The opportunity to sponsor a specific sport brings high value to our local community. Signage on site, and emcee opportunities during the sport specific opening and/or medal ceremonies. Where possible, sponsors will have opportunity to provide their own on-site brand activation*. The valuation of the sport is based on the size of branding opportunity, visibility and number of participants in the specific sport. (participants and spectators) 6,000. Live music, entertainment, and light show AWG Opening ceremonies are sure to be a spectacle no one will forget! Along with high energy performances, we are looking to feature elements of projection light map ping and digital art within the ceremonies. 5 CULTURE $20,000 each 2020 Cheer Squad The Airdrie 2020 Cheer Squad will be rallying the community starting July 1, 2019 until Feb 17, These young, talented dancers and artists will bring to life the Games experience performing in schools, parades, community events and throughout the Games Weekend. Sponsoring our Cheer Squad will provide exclusive recognition on uniforms, and during formal Cheer announcements. Logo recognition will also be available on the Cheer Squad transportation vehicles and website. Cultural Weekend Pass As a part of the 2020 AWG weekend, Airdrie will showcase its arts and culture flare with a weekend of vibrant, enlivened and captivating performances, events and spectacles. As the Cultural Weekend pass sponsor, logo and name recognition is available at each site, on the weekend wristbands, along with the opportunity to distribute a limited number of passes to the community, as well as title on the online events cal endar. Local Entertainment Package, 3 days/multi-venues Throughout the 2020 AWG weekend, local entertainment will be hired and paid to entertain the crowds in heavy pedestrian traffic areas, busking, and for each medal ceremony. 6 SUSTAINABILITY - PACKAGES LEGACY - PACKAGES YOUTH $15,000 each $10,000 each $5,000 each Fresh Air Carbon Off-set Airdrie 2020 Society will offset their carbon footprint by planting trees in Airdrie. These trees are a legacy program and fundraising investment for the youth of Airdrie. The sponsor of this program will be titled as the X COMPANY, Focused on a Fresh Future. A digital website banner on the tree forest will be prominent, as well as recognition through our social media programs. The Sponsor will have a key speaking role at the planting site. Games Fleet Sponsorship The Games team is looking for a vehicle fleet to provide internal transportation needs for VIP s, Technical Officials, and Games Staff. Our ideal fleet sponsor is a supporter of environment efforts, with either an electric or hybrid fleet, or one that supports clean fuel initiatives. Giving Forward With the Games requiring a large amount of equipment, tools, furniture, sport and event needs, during the planning and over the event weekend, the Host society is offering the opportunity for a Giving Forward sponsor. As such, the host society will re-distribute the inventory from the Games to non-profits and community members on their behalf, with direct input from the sponsor. This allows the Host society another opportunity for sustainable resource planning. Food Centre Sponsor Branding around the main food centre and any of the sustainability features, including water stations, com post stations, and leftover food rescue program giving back to the local community service agencies. Digital Wayfinding Information Kiosks As we move into a tech-savvy future, the host community will be installing digital information ki osks at prime local venues to provide access to the Alberta Winter Games website, including local information at the tap of a finger. Brand opportunity available. Recycling Corporate Airdrie will be offered the opportunity to ensure they are focused on the future with an Airdrie 2020 recycling bin that will be added to their offices. These recycling bins for beverage containers only, will be collected weekly and all proceeds will go directly to the sustainability enhancements during the Games weekend. Value: $1,500 each Games Office Support the host society with your sponsorship of the Games Office Recognition will be featured on the Games Office front window, during the local parades, and fundraising events. This will be enhanced with our local recognition social media campaign, leading up to and after the Games. Technical Officials & Coaches A key part to the success of the Games are the dedicated individuals that give their time to provide mentorship, leadership and expertise to the athletes. By sponsoring the Technical Officials and Coaches shows your support in the development of all aspects of sport. Sponsorship recognition will be at the private Coaches Corner dinner, and in-room hotel drop, and signage at the Official Hotel where these vital team members will stay. We estimate over 330 Technical Officials, and 476 Coaches will be a part of the Airdrie 2020 Alberta Winter Games. Recharge Welcome Lounges (Parents and Ticketed Family) We will create a ticketed Fan/parent zones where during event downtime, parents and ticketed visitors will be able to socialize with other sport or zone parents, recharge, relax or re-energize in immersive and meaningful ways. City Youth Ambassadors Part of the community support will include civ ic campaigns where Airdrie can open its doors as a welcoming host to the thousands who will be heading in for the Games. Who better to welbeyond to provide support at each of the venues, come our young athletes than Airdrie youth am bassadors. As the face of the Games, our Spec tator Services representatives will go above and and throughout the Games Weekend. They are also representing the host society leading up to the Games at rallies, parades and other key events. Sponsorship include logo branding on the uniforms. We estimate 50 Ambassadors to be involved in our Games. Athletes Chill Zone Throughout the Games weekend, working with local community agencies, Athletes will be able to socialize with one another in immersive and meaningful ways. This includes photos booths, Wi-Fi gaming, board games, and more. Airdrie Welcome: Peer to Peer A part of the community support will include civic and school campaigns where Airdrie students can create cards of support to the athlete s participation. Working with in-school social groups, such as Me to We, students will make and sell cards that will be left in classrooms for the athletes. This also includes opportunities to purchase small zone colored cheer paraphilia such as cowbells to add to the thrill of the spectator zone. To host a successful Alberta Winter Games, the Airdrie 2020 Alberta Winter Games Society is seeking private donations and sponsorships to help offset the operational costs to deliver this prestigious event. Monies raised are invested directly into the delivery of the Games, with special focus on our aspirational pillars. The purpose of this society is to act as a host community for the Alberta Winter Games, Feb 14-17, 2020 and we intend to continue as a Sport Culture Tourism Society for Airdrie after these Games.
