With the recent success of the University of Louisville football team, Kirk will have more to discuss this year than ever before. GAME PLAN: Begin with time to network with other professionals and then hear expert commentary on the 2016 and 2017 football seasons. You ll even have the opportunity to ask Kirk your questions. CROWD: 1,000 business professionals, civic leaders, and entrepreneurs from across the Louisville Metro Area, with over 100 companies represented. This event is a great way to recognize employees and/or entertain clients, and is great for local networking. IMPACT: Funds raised from Kick-Off Luncheon ticket sales, sponsorships and day-of donations, support the annual operations of The Parklands, which relies on community contributions, not tax dollars, to operate this free public park to a world-class standard. With your help The Parklands will provide recreational and educational outdoor opportunities for 3 million visits in 2017, free of charge. ABOUT KIRK HERBSTREIT: Since 1995 Kirk has been a college football analyst for ESPN/ABC. In 1996 he joined ESPN s College Gameday program, making 2016 Kirk s 21st season on this popular Emmy Award winning studio show. Since 2006 Kirk has been the game analyst for ABC s Saturday Night Prime Time broadcast. Kirk has been nominated 7 times for the Sports Emmy Award as television s Best Studio Analyst and is a two time winner of the Award. Kirk has also been nominated twice for the Sports Emmy Award as Best Game Analyst. In addition, College Gameday is a 6 time winner of the Sports Emmy Award as television s Best Studio Show. Kirk is a 1993 graduate of The Ohio State University where he played quarterback and was the team captain for the 1992 season. ABOUT TERRY MEINERS: A Louisville legend, Terry Meiners has been on air in some form or fashion in Louisville since and with WHAS since He was voted favorite media personality over 20 times - forcing Louisville Magazine to get rid of the category altogether. His deep love of Louisville is undeniable as he s led countless philanthropic efforts through the years, not least of which is his annual leadership of WHAS s Crusade for Children. A UK grad, Terry enjoys golf, marathons, and is a frequent user of The Parklands. ABOUT KATIE GEORGE: Born and raised in Louisville, Katie attended Assumption High School where she won two state championships and was named Prep Volleyball s National Player of the Year. She continued her volleyball career at the University of Louisville where she won three different conference championships and was named the 2015 ACC Player and Setter of the Year as well as an NCAA All American and CoSIDA Academic All American. She was also crowned Miss Kentucky USA 2015 and placed in the Top 11 at the Miss USA 2015 Pageant. Katie joined WDRB in January of 2016 and reports news and sports.
