With a pay your way breakfast. After this meeting we will proceed based on the survey results. Election of Officers A nominating committee will be formed at the October meeting for our upcoming elections of two Executive Board positions. The Director and Secretary positions will be on the ballot this year. If you are interest in either being on the ballot or on the nominating committee please let the officers know at the October meeting. 4 Minutes of September 2014 Meeting Minutes of Meeting Winnipesauke H.O.G. Chapter 2529 Meeting September 14, 2014 The meeting was called to order at 9:24 am by Director Rick Bassett after the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There was 1 new member and 1 guest present. They were welcomed. Rick introduced Kevin Seidel, Chief Operating Officer of American Road, who addressed the group with his thoughts and ideas for the dealership and the Chapter going forward. He then introduced the new General Manager, Ed Compton, who also addressed the group sharing his plans and open door/availability by cell phone policy to the membership. He then introduced the LHD team members present at the meeting. A new Sales Manager is in training and expected to begin shortly at the dealership. Secretary s Report: Motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as written in last month s newsletter and on the website. The motion passed. Membership: Fran reported on our total members of 194. He has processed since our last meeting 9 renewals and 5 new members. Ride Committee: Carl reported on the season winding down and a meeting of the Ride Committee scheduled for 10/5 to review the season. He welcomed suggestions from the membership for discussion at that meeting. Carl reported on the recent Bar Harbor trip that was very successful with 10 motorcycles and 16 people. It was really a great take and a great ride. Rick reported on his ride to the Mohawk Trail and Smugglers Notch as well. The next ride is on Wednesday (mid -week ride) to Portland Head led by Carl, Tom and Joe see website and facebook for details. Today s Ride was cancelled due to the opportunity to meet and greet the dealership team and take advantage of their generous 15% off shopping opportunity today after the meeting. Road Captains Tony reported that we are looking for volunteers to train to become Road Captains which will enable the scheduling of more and varied rides next year. The Mileage Program will end at the October Chapter Meeting. If you are not able to ride to the meeting to get your mileage checked, you can drive into the dealership and have the service department witness your mileage and give to Tony for consideration in the contest. A tire will be the Grand Prize along with other prizes for achieving various mileage levels. All prizes and winners will be announced at the Harvest Supper. Please be sure to get your official ending mileage to Tony for consideration. New Business: Harvest Supper - The group was asked to indicate by a show of hands if a Harvest Supper was desired to be held again this year. A majority of the group raised their hands indicating they wanted a Harvest Supper. Rick reviewed what goes on at the Harvest Supper for those that may not have attended in the past. All information will be available at the October meeting. Survey Barb explained to the group that a survey will be mailed to all members in the next week, or so, requesting feedback from the membership on meetings, rides, activities etc. Also included will be a listing of officer positions and appointed positions within the Chapter. It will include descriptions for members to review and consider getting more involved with the Chapter. Please complete and return the survey at the Harvest Supper or at the dealership at your earliest convenience. Have a voice in improving YOUR Chapter. Elections to be held this year are for the Officer Positions of Director and Secretary. A nominating committee will be formed at the next meeting to accept applications for these positions. Voting will be done in December. We are considering having breakfast meetings November March because our Chapter room is being used for winter storage of bikes. The cost for breakfast will be paid by each individual. More to follow on locations etc. Next meeting will be on 10/12/14 at 9am at Laconia Harley Davidson in Meredith, NH. 5 . Ride led by: Tom Cady Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site ( U.S. National Park Service ) Arrived early for a Chinese Buffet in Claremont NH Good choice Tom it was worth wait for! Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site in Cornish, New Hampshire, preserves was owned by Augustus Saint- Gaudens ( ), one of America's foremost sculptors. This was his summer residence from 1885 to 1897, his permanent home from 1900 until his death in Beautiful!

8 The Owners' of Laconia Harley Davidson Remarkable Story Steve Deli & Anne Deli Steve Deli, owner of Laconia Harley-Davidson, is a savior of Harley-Davidson. As an investment banker, he saved the company from bankruptcy in the late 1980s, and then led Harley s IPO (initial public offering). Not resting on his laurels, he started Harley-Davidson Financial Services. He is praised in the famous book of Harley-Davidson s turnaround, Well Made in America, and is featured on the Discovery Channel and at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Anne Deli is no stranger to Harley either. She grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin next to Bill Harley, son of the founder, who took her on rides in the sidecar of his motorcycles (She called him Shaggy Dog because of his long, bushy sideburns). She went on to help define the Harley brand of today, as Vice President and head of Global Marketing at Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Laconia Harley-Davidson has grown exponentially under the leadership of Steve and Anne Deli to be one of the largest and most successful dealerships in the world. They also own Orlando Harley-Davidson. Working with the local dealers, Steve and Anne have opened, and own and operate almost two dozen Harley-Davidson merchandise stores across the country. They are dedicated to the Harley-Davidson brand, as is the customer base who ride Harleys or dream about riding Harleys.
