Eurocamp is a family of Basketball Residential Coaching Camps. We are now in our 18th year of providing a top class basketball camp experience to players from all over Europe and beyond.

2 Eurocamp is a family of Basketball Residential Coaching Camps. We are now in our 18th year of providing a top class basketball camp experience to players from all over Europe and beyond. Barrow in Furness camp opened in 1998 followed by Bradford 7 years later. In 2014 we added the Chichester University camp to our portfolio and we are excited that in 2015 we will add the fourth member of our family in Oslo, Norway. The three 2014 Eurocamps provided a top class experience for well over 500 performers enforcing our opinion that Eurocamp is the market leader in UK basketball camps. In 2014 we welcomed players from the UK, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Channel Islands, France, Germany, Italy, Estonia, Kuwait, Cyprus, Iceland, Denmark, the Netherlands and for the first time in Eurocamp history, Iraq. Eurocamp is led by the World renowned Dr Laszlo Nemeth, Senior Lecturer at Chichester University and former Head Coach to several National teams including England men and women. He brings with him a select team of coaches hand picked each year. The 2014 coaching staff came from Hungary, Spain, Kuwait, Norway and the UK and included 2 former England National team coaches, a 2011 Coach of the Year, the former Head Coach of the Kuwaiti National senior mens team and a current National team junior coach. Dr Nemeth, and therefore Eurocamp, promote and encourage the European style of play, focusing on tough defence, strong fundamentals, fast break and mid to long range shooting. We are probably the only UK camps which run hour long intensive themed coaching sessions. We don't believe in the USA style system of 10 minute "stations" we believe in intense sessions where everyone participates all the time, building understanding of the subject being taught and progression. We certainly do not believe in sitting around watching other players train. The philosophy at Eurocamp is one of hard work, Eurocamp is NOT a holiday camp. Unlike most other camps, Eurocamp is for those players with serious intentions to improve their game. We invite you to come and join us at one or more of our camps in 2015.

HEAD COACH DR LASZLO NEMETH Laszlo has been Head Coach at Eurocamp since it opened in 1998.

Private School. He graduated as Physical Education teacher (MA), Senior Coach (Bsc), Doctorate from Training Methodology at the Hungarian University for Physical Education (HUPE) Budapest.

He brings a wealth of experience to Eurocamp from the competitive end of sport.

Coach O'Leary made it to the Eurocamp 15 times missing only two years once when his wife was in labour and once when he wrote his PhD.

3 HEAD COACH DR LASZLO NEMETH Laszlo has been Head Coach at Eurocamp since it opened in Laszlo has huge experience as a performance and excellence coach, but also worked as a Physical Education teacher and Head of Physical Education Department in Hungary and Kuwait's Modern American Private School. He graduated as Physical Education teacher (MA), Senior Coach (Bsc), Doctorate from Training Methodology at the Hungarian University for Physical Education (HUPE) Budapest. He has coached Premier Division basketball teams in five different countries - winning national titles in four - and coached three different Senior Men National Teams around the globe including England between He was involved in Olympic Games, Asian Games, Universiade, Games of Small Nations, Pan Arab Championships, European and World Championships, Gulf Championships, Scandinavian Championship. He brings a wealth of experience to Eurocamp from the competitive end of sport. COACH DR NICK O LEARY No accident that we say regular because Nick is the only coach who was on the staff when the first Eurocamp was held on UK soil 17 years ago in Barrow in Furness. Coach O'Leary made it to the Eurocamp 15 times missing only two years once when his wife was in labour and once when he wrote his PhD. Nick is a Senior Lecturer at University of Wolverhampton, an expert on higher education in the UK and so he is happy to give advice and guidance for future University Students UK, EU or overseas alike. He has coached basketball at all levels in the UK and is a Basketball England approved tutor for the coach education programmes in the UK. He knows Eurocamp operations inside out and acts as deputy "sheriff" to Laszlo Nemeth. Needless to say he is a Boston Celtics fan. COACH GUSTAVO GARCIA Another very popular member of our Eurocamp staff from Madrid. He is the former head of Real Madrid development program, he brings huge experience in player development and a lot of smiles to campers and staff alike. His credentials include Superior Basketball Coach (Highest level in Spanish basketball) Coach Real Madrid/Canoe Real Madrid (Junior}, assistant coach Coach Spanish Basketball Federation. COACH ISAAC PUJOL ALONSO From Barcelona, Spain. He is considered as a senior member of Eurocamps staff after completing 4 years in Eurocamp Barrow and Bradford. Coach Pujol has an impressive record coaching in Europe s top basketball nation. He is currently the Head Coach U16 Women s National Team at Catalonia, Catalan Basketball Federation. He is also Coach at Skills Development Program for young players, Catalan Basketball Federation. Previously Head Coach U14 Women s National Team at Catalonia, Catalan Basketball Federation. He won National Titles with his teams Spanish Championship: Champion 2010, Bronze Medal 2012, COACH FAISAL BURESSLI Has a long career as a National team player at junior and senior level and was a member of the Kuwaiti senior mens team coached by our very own Coach Nemeth. He was offered 6 Scholarships to play in the NCAA leagues in the USA. His coaching career spans many years and in 2010 he was Head Coach of the Kuwait senior mens team. He has held many Head Coaching positions at both senior and junior level, Internationally and on the club scene. Amongst his achievements so far are:- Kuwait Coach of the Year 2007, 2008 and 2009 Head Coach to the Gulf Championship winning Kuwait Youth National Team Head Coach to numerous Championship winning junior club teams. COACH MICHAEL BERNARD It is our policy that we always have a coach who is still playing professionally. If you read Michael Bernard s resume you realise that in our camps you may get first hand advice of the possibilities in basketball. Coach Michael has been with us since 2010 and is very popular among campers. Michael played for Laszlo Nemeth s England squad. He has played professionally in Greece, Italy, Germany, France, Cyprus and Slovakia.and is currently playing in the top UK league the BBL for Manchester Giants.

What standard does the camp cater for? The camp caters for standards from beginners to players in National teams. This is done by having a development group and an advanced group. 3. Does the camp welcome girls as well as boys? Yes we do. 4. What can I do to prepare myself for the camp? You can prepare yourself for the camp by working on your fitness levels before attending, not wearing new boots for the first time and not playing without socks! 5. What can I expect to be doing on a daily basis? See daily schedule below. 6. Is there medical provision at the camp? Yes, we have medical staff available at all our camps 7. What about meals? For all residents, 3 meals per day will be provided. Non residents are provided with lunch and dinner but not breakfast. [Bradford lunch only] 8. What are the arrangements for security at night time? There are residential staff on duty every night. 9. Is smoking allowed? No, Eurocamp is a no smoking zone. Any camper caught breaking this rule will be sent straight home. 10. Is there a camp shop on site? Yes. The shop is open all day selling sweets, drinks, hot dogs, buns, fruit etc. 11. What should I do about valuables? We suggest that you do not bring any valuables as we cannot be responsible for them. 12. What should we do about spending money? Money should be deposited in the camp bank. From that point on, anything purchased from the shop is signed for and monies owed deducted from your account at the end of the week. All remaining monies will be returned. This removes the need to carry money around at the camp. 13. What do you do about bad behaviour? Any behaviour detrimental to anyone at the camp, including oneself will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal from the camp without refund. 14. Do I need insurance? We recommend that you take out your own insurance against cancellation as no refunds will be given if you do not attend. 15. Are there any camp souvenirs? Every camper will receive a free Eurocamp kit. Local arrangements are in place at each camp regarding souvenir T Shirts and hoodies plus a camp photograph. A 70 non refundable deposit must accompany every application to ensure reservation. Please be sure to include an E Mail address for confirmation of your booking. All campers will receive joining instructions approximately 4 weeks before camp. If you require confirmation by post, please include a stamped addressed envelope.
