2 General Guidelines The Winnipeg Jets AA Shwdwn will use the Official Hckey Canada Rule Bk as a guideline. Games will be played utilizing the rules f hckey with an emphasis n safety by enhancing the game rules and disciplinary actins bth n and ff the ice. Hckey Canada, Hckey Manitba and Hckey Winnipeg Rules will apply, with the exceptins t fllw within the Winnipeg Jets AA Shwdwn Rules, Guidelines and Prcedures. COMMUNICATION All teams shall designate a Team Representative and an Alternate Representative (i.e. cach/manager). Team reps will be respnsible fr being familiar, and ensuring all members f their teams, ther caches, parents, and players are als familiar with the Winnipeg Jets AA Shwdwn Rules, Guidelines and Prcedures. As such, any cmmunicatin t the Turnament Crdinatrs, n r ff-ice staff, including referees, frm a team registered in the turnament must be via the Team Representative r Alternate Representative. Any cncerns frm parents r players must be cmmunicated via the designated team representative. COMPOSITIONOF TEAMS Eligible players must be registered n a Hckey Winnipeg r Hckey Manitba Team Registratin Frm/ Official Team Rster fr their respective AA team. A player wh is already n a Team Registratin Frm f anther team cannt be placed n the rster f any additinal AA teams. The Official Team Rster supplied fr the first turnament game will be the fficial rster fr said team fr the remaining games f the turnament. N further substitutins will be permitted. Players nt dressing fr a game are nt allwed n the bench. Each team will be allwed a Captain, and three (3) Alternates. Galtenders will nt be allwed t be Captains r Alternates. A maximum f fur (4) leaders (Caches/Managers/Trainers) will be allwed n the team bench during a game. ROSTERS, PLAYERS ELIGIBILITY LEVELSAND BIRTH DATES Each AA team must register nline and make arrangements fr payment accrding t the schedule fr the turnament. A team rster must be submitted by filling ut the turnament rster template and ing the dcument t the turnament crdinatr by Nv. 30, This rster will be cnsidered the turnament fficial rster fr that team. The rster will be frzen at the time f the start f the first game. Emergency changes may be allwed if apprved by the turnament cmmittee, prir t the start f the team s first game. TEAM AFFILIATION AND TEMPORARY PROMOTION All Team Affiliatin and Temprary Prmtin rules under Hckey Winnipeg s SECTION G (pages f their Rules and Regulatins) are t be fllwed withut fail. Please nte the fllwing under rule 16 n page 55: (a) Cntraventin f any f the temprary prmtin regulatins shall result in immediate and indefinite suspensin f the team fficial(s) and frfeiture f all games in which a temprary player was utilized that had nt been prperly authrized. (b) Any team using an ineligible player r team fficial shall frfeit all games in which such persn was used, and the persn(s) respnsible fr the ffense shall be autmatically suspended until a hearing by the (Hckey Winnipeg) suspensin cmmittee. Any Team Representative r Alternate Representative wh feels that an ppsing team may have an ineligible player/team fficial n their rster can bring their cncerns t the AA Turnament directr wh will investigate the alleged infractin via Hckey Winnipeg.

3 DRESSING ROOMS Dressing rm assignments will be psted n the televisin mnitrs in the main cncurse. A key t the dressing rm must remain in the dressing rm fllwing each game. Any damage t the rm will be charged t that team (shuld any damage be present when yu first enter yur rm please cntact the arena attendant r turnament directr immediately). HOME & VISITING TEAMS ALL TEAMS MUST ARRANGE TO HAVE A SET OF BOTH LIGHT AND DARK JERSEYS. The first team listed is the HOME team and will be identified n each game sheet f the turnament. The hme team will wear light clured jerseys. Teams nt having tw sets f jerseys WILL BE PROVIDED PINNIES shuld there be a cnflict with unifrm clurs. GAME STARTS The intent is t start all games at the psted time. In the event that adjustments are required, they will be psted at the turnament registratin desk, nline and n the mnitrs in the main cncurse. Teams must be prepared t play 15 minutes prir t the scheduled start time. In rder t cmmence play f a game, a team shall have: a minimum f 9 eligible players in unifrm (nt necessarily a galtender) and 1 rstered, certified cach whse name must be legibly printed n the Official Game Sheet, r the game shall be frfeited. N game shall be physically played under these frfeited circumstances. ON ICE OFFICIALS All referees and linesman have been apprved by Hckey Manitba and Hckey Winnipeg, are certified and are under the directin f their referee-in-chief and assignr. The three man system will be used fr all games as per Hckey Winnipeg requirements. PRE-GAME WARM-UP Teams will be allwed a tw (2) minute warm-up at the beginning f the game. Teams must stay n their side f the centre ice line. Team players are nt t cnduct stretching exercises between the centre red line and their blue line. Teams must be ready t begin the game as sn as the referee blws the whistle. ENTERING THE RINK & ORDER OF LEAVING THE ICE Teams may enter the rink via the players entrance gates lcated directly acrss the ice frm the team benches nce the Zambni gates have been clsed by rink attendants. Team caches and fficials n the bench must use the ff-ice team gate lcated at ne end f the bench. The referee shall determine which team leaves the ice surface first. Any team leaving prir t the referee indicating may be levied a penalty.

4 Peewee, & Bantam Divisins Frmat, Rules, and Prcedures All turnament games are 15/15/20 minute stp time perids in duratin, allwance shall be made fr flding the ice after 2 cnsecutive perids f play. Cmpleting the Game sheet Game sheets will be prepared by the turnament hst fr each game. Caches are respnsible t ensure that names and jersey numbers listed n the game sheet are crrect and accurate. Caches are asked t circle the galie fr each game played prir t the start f the game shuld they have mre than ne galie n their rster. Caches are als asked t put an X beside their designated shters in the event f a shtut. Away team shall cmplete the game sheet 30 minutes prir t game time, while the hme team shall be 20 minutes prir t the game. Mandatry Equipment Helmets, muth guards and full face prtectrs are mandatry fr all players. All Canadian-based teams must wear thrat prtectrs. All Canadian based and USA-based teams must wear muth guards. Players nt cnfrming t these mandatry requirements will nt be allwed t play until the cmpulsry equipment is in place. If a player, except a galtender, lses their helmet during the play that player must immediately stp, pick up their helmet and put it n, r g immediately t the bench. Alternate Galtender All alternate galtenders ARE REQUIRED t wear prtectin while the game is in prgress. The alternate galtender must be prepared t play at all times. An injured galtender must be replaced within tw (2) minutes (unless seriusly injured). An alternate galtender replacing an injured galtender will be allwed a tw (2) minute warm-up. Shuld the starting galtender return t play, n further warm-up will be permitted. During any game, this warm-up shall be used nly nce per new galtender. Mercy Rule All turnament games are 15/15/20 minute stp time perids. When a team is winning by 5 r mre gals with less than 5 minutes t play, the balance f the game shall be played running time. As sn as the referee has reprted the gal that creates the 5 gal differential, the timekeeper shall immediately run the clck. Running time shall cntinue, regardless f the number f additinal gals scred. The mercy rule will apply t ALL games in the turnament. Penalties The clck will nt be stpped during running time (i.e. when the mercy rule is in effect) while the referee deals with penalties. During running time, penalties will start frm the drp f the puck. Length f Penalties are as fllws: Minr Penalty 2 Minutes Majr Penalty 5 Minutes and Game Miscnduct

5 Overtime Miscnduct 10 Minutes Rund Rbin Play: A winner will be declared in all turnament games. Shuld teams be tied at the end f regulatin time, there will be a ne (1) minute break with n ice fld. Overtime during rund play will cnsist f ne Three (3) Minute running time perid. Teams will play even strength with three (3) skaters per team Players change n the fly nly (n changes during a stppage). Clck will nly stp when a penalty is called, and will restart at the drp f the puck. Playff, Quarter Final, Semi Final Games Overtime during eliminatin games will cnsist f ne Three (3) Minute running time perid. Teams will play even strength with three (3) skater per team Players change n the fly nly (n changes during a stppage). Clck will nly stp when a penalty is called, and will restart at the drp f the puck. Champinship Final Games First Overtime Perid Fur (4) Minute running time perid with teams playing even strength with fur (4) skaters per team. Players change n the fly nly (n changes during a stppage f play. Clck will nly stp when a penalty is called, and will restart at the drp f the puck. Shtut Secnd Overtime Perid (if necessary) If the game is tied after the first fur minute vertime perid, a secnd vertime perid will be played at three (3) minutes running time with teams playing at even strength with three (3) skaters per team. Players change n the fly nly (n changes during a stppage f play. Clck will nly stp when a penalty is called, and will restart at the drp f the puck. Penalties Called During Overtime A ne player advantage any three n three vertime perid will be played fur n three; a tw player advantage in any vertime setting will be played five n three. Once the penalty is served, play will cntinue until a whistle, at which pint any extra players will be remved frm the ice and the game will resume with three (3) skaters per team. Pwer Plays in Overtime Penalties running ver frm the first vertime perid, teams will play fur n three fr the duratin f the penalty. Once the penalty is served, play will cntinue until a stppage at which pint ne (1) extra player frm each team will be remved frm the ice and the game will resume with three (3) skaters. N ther changes at this time. Pints in Standings Regulatin Win 3 Pints Overtime/Shtut Win 2 Pints Overtime/Shtut Lss 1 Pint Regulatin Lss 0 Pints Tie Breakers Rund Rbin The fllwing tie breakers will be used if TWO teams are tied in pints at the end f the Rund Rbin: 1. Winner f the game between the tw teams 2. Mst wins verall 3. Mst regulatin wins verall 4. Fewest gals against 5. Team with the least ttal penalty minutes accumulated during the turnament 6. Lttery The fllwing tie breakers will be used if THREE OR MORE teams are tied in pints at the end f the Rund Rbin: 1. Mst wins verall 2. Mst regulatin wins verall 3. Best gal differential ttal gals scred divided by ttals gals against, taking int accunt nly the games between the tied teams. 4. Fewest gals against verall 5. Team with the least ttal penalty minutes accumulated during the turnament 6. Lttery Nte: A tie breaker may nly be valid if the rankings f all teams are decided by the tie breaker. Centre (Red) Line - Is used fr icing nly. Tw line passes are allwed. The n tuch icing rule will be in effect. Bdy Checking - Bdy checking is permitted nly in the Bantam Divisin. Slap shts Will be allwed in all levels and divisins. Stick Measurement Abslutely n stick measurements at any time. Time Outs N time uts will be allwed during any turnament game. Shuld an injury ccur during running time, the clck will stp nly at the discretin f the n-ice fficials. In the pinin f the n-ice fficials, if the injury t the player is mild in nature, the clck will cntinue t run. If the injury is mre serius, and medical aid is required, the referee has the discretin t have the clck stpped until the injury t the player has been dealt with. Hwever, in the pinin f the n-ice fficials, shuld a team deliberately abuse this discretinary

7 call, the clck will cntinue t run regardless f the situatin. Cincidental Penalties If cincidental penalties are called, NEITHER team will skate shrthanded. Nise Making Devices N air hrns r similar sunding devices are allwed in any f the arenas. Fighting Any player assessed a fighting penalty will be suspended fr the remainder f the turnament. Shuld a fight ccur, all players n the ice must prceed immediately t their respective bench, r t a neutral area as determined by the n-ice fficials. Galtenders must nt leave their crease unless directed t by an nice fficial. Players and team fficials n the bench must nt g n the ice during an altercatin, unless requested t d s by the n-ice fficials in charge. Vilatin f this rule may result in a tw (2) game suspensin fr all parties invlved. Match Penalty/Grss Miscnduct Any player assessed a Match Penalty (a deliberate attempt t injure by spearing, butt ending, slashing, crss checking, high sticking, etc.) and/r a Grss Miscnduct will be suspended fr the remainder f the turnament. Any player r team fficial assessed a Match penalty fr threatening r attempting t make cntact with a game fficial, shall be autmatically suspended and referred t the Hckey Manitba Suspensin Cmmittee. Any player r team fficial assessed a Match penalty fr physical abuse f a game fficial, fr striking, hitting, pushing r tuching, shall be autmatically suspended and referred t the Hckey Manitba Suspensin Cmmittee. Penalties and Injuries Shuld an injury result frm any play that has been assessed with a penalty, the player will receive a five (5) minute majr penalty, a game miscnduct and a minimum ne (1) game suspensin frm turnament games. Upn cmpletin f the game, the Turnament Directrs will render a decisin regarding any further supplementary discipline. Injured players will be ineligible t play fr a 10 minute stp time perid f play. This will allw the player t be attended t by a trainer r EMT staff. Awards The winning divisin and runner-up teams in the finals f the Peewee, and Bantam divisins will receive awards frm the turnament hst. Every game will feature a player f the game award fr each team. Caches will select the player f the game fr their wn team and ntify the timekeeper at the end f the game. Teams will line up n their respective blue lines fr player f the game presentatins. Prtests Will nt be allwed.
