GRANVILLE & DISTRICTS SOCCER FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION Minutes of Ladies Meeting Ref: LDM_2010_01_ Venue: Bernie Mullane Sporting Complex, Kellyville Date: 11 February 2010 commencing at 7pm Attendance: Rose Capasso (Guild), Vince Scarcella (PH), Reg Agar (Aub FC), Karen Ildes (Aub FC), Poppy Kotsiopoulos (MSFC/GDSFA), Colin McGowan (CHU), Danny Griffith (Dun), Graeme Wait (Beau H), Darryl Verity (GDSFA), Peter Waters (NR), Jason Frendo (Toon), Nik Ogun (WW), Bill Frendo (Toon/GDSFA), Dee Jonsson (GDSFA) Apologies: Tracey Kelly (Rouse H), Yvonne Bacha (St Josephs), Rowah (Auburn District), Elsbeth Alexander (St Johns), Lisa Nash (Holroyd Rangers), Rosalie Adoranti (St Michaels), Ermington, Kaye Cooper (Baulkham Hills), Richard Matthews (Kellyville), Caroline Staples (Lidcombe Waratah) Chair: Dee Jonsson AGENDA ITEM Grading ACTION If a club is entering two teams in one age group, they must be graded A and B one team will be put in Div 1, the other in Div 2. If two teams are really poor, nominate, and grading committee will assess. Poppy each situation judged on its merits. If from the same club there was a 1 st Division team, plus another team who won 2 nd Division, then the teams will both be placed in 1st Division. Likely to be 2 teams in Div 1 in this scenario. Dundas - Girl registered in Gladesville-Hornsby, wants to play in GDSFA, Sat- Sun, not allowed. Dundas may end up with 1 team, due to HSC commitments in 18s. 18s competition will be competitive this year, 2 good teams, but the remaining teams will be competitive. Alternatively they ll go to AAL4. 3 new teams in 18s this year. Vince Pendle Hill s 18s did not have a challenging year, because of strength of Pendle Hill and Beaumont Hills, which made the competition between two teams. PH will have 1 18s. 16s comp was/is strong, so as a result, the 18s competition will strengthen in time. CLUB Current Teams for 2010 Needed players for 2010 Auburn District Auburn FC U12 U16 U18 U14 AA Ladies Baulkham Hills U14 U16 AA1 AA Ladies Beaumont Hills U12 U14 U16 U18 AA1 AA2 U12 U16 AA1 AA2 U10 U12 U14 U16 U18 AA2 Castle Hill RSL AA5 Over 35 Castle Hill United AA2 AA3 Over 35 U10 Over 35 Dundas United AA4 AA4 Ermington United U12 AA4 U12 AA4

Suggested to get into office on 26 th (Fri). Must nominate minimum of 10 players, and 7 must stay in that team, and must remain in that team for the season. Players allowed 3 matches out of their nominated team, then must apply for re-grade. For purposes of representing Champ of Champs, to allow girls to play up a grade in C of C, must ve played in that particular team 3 times. GDSFA guidelines now in line with FNSW. GDSFA by-laws allow ladies to protect chest with arms, contrary to FNSW rules. Girls who play in mixed teams play for free with Girls. Dual registered girls are free. If dual registered, register as two names (with a full-stop or some other differentiation) Over 35s 5 players are allowed to play aged between in It will drop to 4 in 2011, etc Darryl - No rules for Over 35s ladies devised as yet. Dee - MC will discuss on Tues. Likely teams to enter: Toongabbie, Castle Hill United, Kellyville, Pendle Hill, Wenty Waratah, Castle Hill RSL, maybe Merrylands SFC, Ermington am kick-off. Mums mainly playing, 1pm, for mums of 16s and 18s. Dee will survey the teams involved, to ascertain the most suitable kick-off time.
Darryl - 35s Fri night, but also play AAL Sunday. Needs by-law amendment. Dee - AAL3 could all go to 3pm, to fit 35s at 1pm. Jason Sat 3pm play home & away for 35s too many issues, mums/wives with boys/mixed/mens Players Needed Under 12 Toongabbie Under 14 Holroyd Rangers, Rouse Hill & Lidcombe Under 16 Rouse Hill Meeting Days and Location Dee sent out request for preferred nights for meetings. Ladies Co-ordinators to respond. Looking at Parramatta RSL as a venue. Administration Following evaluation results: Pink box When girls/ladies games are completed, all completed team sheets to be placed in box. The box is the collection point for all team sheets on the day. Host clubs to provide box, and responsible for clearing it at the end of the day and forward to Association. Particularly useful for clubs who sub-let their canteens, as canteen management often do not know processes for team sheets. Team sheets Office will be aiming to be out to the clubs on Thursday. Home team s responsibility to provide the team sheet for the match. The home team is always the team listed first on the team sheet. As a back up plan, the hosting club should have a copy of team sheets for the games at their ground. Also would be useful for away team to have a copy. Results must be phoned through to your club s Competition Secretary on Sunday night. Colin is there any way the team sheets could be sent electronically? Dee not at present, but will address this with office. State Cup & Other Competitions Age groups: All Age Ladies 2010 nominations for State Cup close Friday April 9, First round will be played on Sunday May 9 Darryl - Try to organise catch ups on your own, and be pro-active and prearrange catch ups, saves you having a back log of matches to play at the
end of the season. Clubs, e.g. Toongabbie, can offer grounds on a Friday night prior to State Cup matches to play GDSFA games. Bill Girraween Park available for use for Cups matches also, including Nielsen Shield, Mary Fox Cup and Presidents Cup. Ground Allocation Auburn FC ground issue to be resolved at next council meeting Wed Feb 17. Minimum 3 fields, maybe 4. Rouse Hill & Beaumont Hills Commercial Road, access to 3 fields. So Rouse Hill and Beaumont Hills can t have home games on same day. Time slots 35: 11:30 am or 1pm Feedback was to have games at same time slots all season where possible s 9am 14s 10.10am am AAL3, 4, 5 1pm AAL1, 2 3pm Darryl - Try and match up 18/1 with AAL/1, for borrowing players, and A- grade ref to do both games back-to-back. Dee - Special requests with clashes, mums/coaches. Will try to accommodate requests. Forward them to Dee. Darryl will try to match fields with geographic areas. Vince How close are we from having home and away for girls/ladies? Darryl very close, main concern is ground wear. Bill Express concern and preference that clubs with girls and/or ladies teams only host ladies matches. Dee tabled letters from Tracey Kelly (Rouse H) and Lisa Nash (Holroyd Rangers) which expressed similar concerns. Darryl believes that to grow and promote ladies football, hosting ladies matches should be shared around. He believes that concerns from clubs on this issue be forwarded through club Secretary to GDSFA Secretary. Dee All concerns regarding ladies be forwarded to her, and she will take them to MC. Darryl any changes to draw during the season, send through Secretary Michael Briggs. Rose send the requests for changes to Michael Briggs, cc Dee. Dee All concerns regarding ladies can be forwarded to her, and she will delegate them to appropriate person. Referees Course Publicise the course to your players, details on Granville website, starts Monday at St Michaels, starting at 13 years old. Merrylands RSL starts 1 Mar. Rose - Referees course was unstructured, and that appointments were inconvenient. Dee to take Rose s concerns on structure of
General Business referees course to GDSRA. Karen (Aub FC) - Game without referee: clarification on rules on games without refs given, and how refs get appointed. Clubs without referees bibs, contact office to get bibs. Check on GDSFA website late in the week for refereeing appointments for that weekend. Dee - Suggested for all ladies delegates to read by-laws & constitution, available on the website. Darryl really needs grounds for March Round 1. Clubs who have grounds available to notify him as soon as possible. Round 1 will be played on 28 March, no play on ANZAC Day. Playing through school holidays, wet weather make-up games June long weekend, and July. If clubs need games deferred, must give 21 days notice. Grand Finals scheduled for Sep 4-5. Rose - Finals should be played at quality grounds. Next Meeting: TBA Meeting Closed: 8.45pm
