The Focused On Female sale is simply a reflection of our breeding philosophy as our program has always been centered on producing the best Angus females possible. You have to understand that raising top quality cattle is ALL WE DO. We have no other income whatsoever, so we have to make sure that every animal we raise and use is going to work for us both functionally and financially so you can see that we take it very seriously. But this is a big bonus for you because you can be assured that the genetics you purchase from us are geared to improve your bottom line as well. This hand selected offering is full of breed leading genetics that are born and bred for profit. Right from the Lot 1 Proven Donor Herd Matron to the fancy, show prospect heifer calves, the quality is top notch. You can see that there are many choice lots in the sale, as we wanted to offer our very best. Welcome We have had a great year. At the 2011 Canadian National Angus show we not only won Grand Champion Red Angus Female but also took home the Grand Champion Black Angus Female banner as well. Both of those females went on to make the prestigious top ten at Agribition s RBC Beef Supreme Challenge. We kicked off 2012 with an amazing showing at the Denver U.S. National show being honored to win the Red Angus Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor Awards. Females such as the ones offered in this sale, helped us win that honor. The U.S. National Champion Female and Reserve National Champion Bull were raised here at Six Mile and many division and class winners also carried the Six Mile name. We are very proud of that and congratulate the progressive breeders that had success with our genetics. We love showing cattle! Even our home loving, cowboy, Clayton has become fond of this form of advertising (even though I think you would be hard pressed to hear him admit that). We love the people we meet, the incredible cattle we see, the thrill of competition, the camaraderie among breeders and most importantly it is something we can do as a family. Even if our middle son Cade is committed to becoming our hospitality specialist rather than cattle fitter! We work as a family on the ranch and every single member is an integral part of Six Mile. We just want to make one thing clear... At Six Mile there is absolutely no difference between show cattle and breeding cattle. The only difference is that the ones that get chosen to go to shows get more groceries, and more attention to hair care! That is it plain and simple. If the females we showed did not come home and make good productive mother cows (and most often future donors), we would be broke in no time. And when they come home from the show, they are kicked out with the rest of our herd and expected to maintain condition and produce or they will be quickly culled from our program. We have no time for bad uddered, hard doing, unfertile, hard calving females that cannot raise above average progeny. There are simply too many good Angus cows in our herd to put up with that. The idea of raising cattle just for a show is simply ridiculous. And we have so many examples of females that we have shown right from heifer calves up to mother cows - who are now producing sale topping, super productive progeny in our herd. All heifer calves will be halter broke for your convenience. Many are excellent junior show heifer prospects and we offer a great incentive program for young juniors purchasing Six Mile Females. 36 Guest Consignor - Breed Creek Angus Welcome to the 2012 Focus on Females sale. We once again would like to Thank the Six Mile crew for inviting us to participate as guest consignors. We truly are a family operation were along with my wife, Suzanne, and our children Eric, Luc and Alexi, all pitch in to make things work. I am proud that all three of my children are Canadian Angus members and all three have their own cows of which they register their own calves. Our herd consists of 160 registered black cows and 60 registered red cows along with 120 commercial red and black cows. Out cattle are run in a no frills fashion where the cows are expected to work for us. Simply put, we are very busy and do not have the time to babysit or pamper our cattle; they have to work for us or they are gone. Many of the heifers offered are sired by our senior herd bull, KM Right Time a bull whose influence is just starting to be realized. Our high selling bull in 2011 sold to Six Mile and was sired by His daughters are as consistent as they come. Servicing the heifers we have three exceptional herd bulls. Insurance - A representative from LIM will be available on sale day. We strongly urge purchasers to insure their new purchases as they become their responsibility as soon as they are sold. Delivery - We will help coordinate delivery to keep it as low as possible. U.S. Shipments - Six Mile will do all the health testing and export papers required for shipment. We will deliver the cattle across the border and assist in further shipping arrangements from there. Cost is the responsibly of the buyer from that point on.
