4 Get a Grip 2011 Cattlemen and Women; What an exciting time to be involved in the cattle business! I must again express the pleasure I have to work with two cattle operations such as Ter-Ron Farms and Redrich Farms. As I follow these two operation s success at local and distant shows I feel privileged to play a role in this sale. The sale heifers offered have been palpated to ensure breeding suitability for the upcoming spring. The sale bulls have been evaluated for reproductive soundness based upon testicular palpation and scrotal measurement, semen concentration and motility and semen morphology (defects). It is with these testing parameters that I am able to provide accurate breeding soundness evaluations on the bulls offered for sale. It is very humbling to receive an award such as this. It is truly appreciated and makes all the effort worthwhile. After all the doom and gloom in the cattle industry over the past few years, things are looking up! It looks like we are in for some good years, with record prices at the markets! For those of you that have hung in there and stayed with this ever changing cattle business, we salute you, as this is not an easy business to be in. Who in their right mind would choose to be in a business that was dependent on weather, markets, and a myriad of other factors? But we all love it and that s why we do it. We are extremely proud of our bull pen this year. Our bulls are good footed, stout, and full of hair. We develop our bulls on a high roughage total mixed ration (TMR). We have bred and selected our bulls with longevity and efficiency in mind. Please note that none of the bulls have had their feet done prior to sale day. This year we have added a new dimension to our sale with the addition of a few Simmental / Angus cross bulls. We like these cross-bred bulls we have in our pen, and are looking forward to hearing your feedback and viewpoints as well. We are always striving to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. We also are proud to offer a small group of replacement heifers again this year. These heifers are right off the top of our heifer pen and we would not hesitate to use these heifers as replacements in our own herd. It is very hard to part with great females as they are the ones who are raising future herd bulls. Our heifers in our offering to you this year are ones we feel are the right kind to keep.
