(By kind permission of the Stuart Orchard Family) SHOW ARRANGEMENTS SATURDAY, 10 th JUNE, Stock to be in the show yard by a.m. Judging of cattle and sheep a.m. ENTERTAINMENTS PROGRAMME STOCK ENTRY FEES Entry fees must be enclosed with the entry form. CLOSING DATE Friday 2nd June. Cattle 2.00 each Sheep 1.00 each (Minimum entry fee 5.00) The Judge will inform the Steward of his/her award and will sign the judge s sheet. The Judge s decision is final. Rosettes will be awarded for 1 st to 4 th place winners. Prize monies will be awarded from 1 st to 3 rd. place winners.

Highland Cattle Open High-Health Scheme Members Only SHOW-FIELD ADDRESS- Camusdarach, Arisaig Holding Number. 79/452/8000 SHOWING-RULES AND CONDITIONS 1 All stock placed for competition must be the property of the exhibitor for three months prior to the show. 2 All stock must be in the show yard no later than a.m. 3 NO CATTLE WILL BE PERMITTED TO UNLOAD WITHOUT THE PRODUCTION OF THEIR PASSPORT 4 ALL CATTLE exhibitors must have had a BVD clear test within a year of the show date. 5 All passports must be brought to the Show Field along with all exhibits and handed to the Secretary s caravan / tent, where they will receive a show barcode sticker on the movement summary page and a movement on off will be signed. 6 A movement card will be removed from the passport booklet type. The market movement box will be ticked, the date entered, a sticker placed in the address box and signed. 7 It is the shows responsibility to send all movement cards to BCMS within three days of the show. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to notify BCMS of movement s from and to their holding within three days of the show. 8 SHEEP You must ensure that all sheep, including lambs, are correctly tagged with individual ID s. You must complete a Movement Document for the journey to the show (this will also cover the journey back home) This should include your full CPH number and the show field CPH. At section A2 enter to SHOW & RETURN 9 Within 3 days of returning home notify SAMU of the movement by fax,
3 or post. 10 The owners of stock entered for the show must stand at their respective posts, the committee will not be responsible if your stock miss their class when judging. 11 NO straw or sawdust will be allowed on the show field. 12 NO stock can be removed from the show yard before 4.00pm (Unless catching a ferry) 13 The committee shall have the power on their own initiative to deal with questions on the infringement or interpretation of the rules and regulations of the show and their decision shall be final. 14 Protests shall be lodged in writing on the day of the show, to the Secretary s caravan / tent along with a deposit of 5.00 which will be forfeited if the objection is over-ruled; and any decision will be final. 15 The Show committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage in the Show Field. 16 The Show Committee reserves the right to combine or divide classes where necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES OF OWNER/EXHIBITORS OF CATTLE 1 The owner must date and sign a movement-off holding, on the movement summary page. 2 The owner must complete a movement card:-tick a movement off holding box, place a sticker in the address box, and date and sign. It must be torn out before leaving home. 3 The exhibitor must take the passport to the Show, for Show officials to register the movement. 4 On return home the owner must date and sign a movement on holding on the movement summary page and place a sticker in the address box. 5 A further movement card must be completed by the owner:- tick a movement on holding box, date and sign and place a sticker on the movement card. Tear off both cards and send to BCMS within 3 days. 6 Alternatively, both movements on and off may be notified to BSMS on-line.

7 CLASSES 1. Highland Pony in hand. Iain Stewart Trophy 2. Tack and turnout 3. Ridden Pony 14.2hh and under 4. Ridden Horse above 14.2hh 5. Fancy Dress Dependent on entries classes may be split into 16 years and under (junior) and over 16 years (seniors). Prizes: 7, 5, 3 for first three places in each class EQUINE RULES 1. No stallions will be accepted. 2. All horses and ponies must have a valid horse passport with them on the day. 3. Hard hats of the current British standard (PASO15/EN1384) must be worn at all times while mounted. 4. All trophies remain the property of The Road to the Isles Agricultural Show. 5. Trophy winners are responsible for the safe return of the trophy in time for the following year s show (two weeks prior to show date) and will have to replace if lost or damaged. 6. The Road to the Isles Agricultural Show and any person helping within the horse section of the show will not be liable for any loss or damage to any person, animal or vehicle. 7. Whilst all reasonable steps are taken to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those attending the show, competitors are advised to ensure they have adequate insurance cover. 8. Members of the public and competitors are equally responsible for ensuring that they do not put themselves and/or any other persons at risk, and they cooperate with the organisers in complying with health and safety measures. 9. Any complaint should be made in writing within 30 minutes of the incident occurring. Please note that the judge s decision is final and will not be overruled by T.R.T.T.I. Agricultural Show committee members.
8 10. All dogs must be kept on leads. 11. Foul language and/or abuse of horses will not be tolerated and will result in immediate elimination. 12. Horses/Ponies must be ridden at walk outside designated practice areas. 13. Age of rider as on day of show. 14. All horses and ponies in ridden classes must be 4 years old and over on the day of the show. 15. Riders/Handlers under 18 years of age should have an adult responsible for them on the show field at all times. 16. NO straw or sawdust allowed on the Show field. 17. No stock can be removed from the Show yard until 4:00pm 18. The Committee shall have the power on their own initiative to deal with questions on the infringement or interpretation of the Rules and Regulations of the Show, and their decision shall be final. 19. The Show Committee reserves the right to combine or divide classes where necessary.
9 CLASSES FOR THE HANDICRAFT, HOME BAKING, KNITTING & FLORAL DECORATIONS RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO THE HANDICRAFT SECTION 20. All exhibits to be brought to the Handicrafts tent between 9.30 and 11 a.m. on the morning of show. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED 21. The committee will not undertake the return of exhibits, nor does it accept any responsibility for loss, damage or theft of any item so entered into any category. 22. The Judges shall place prize winners in each class 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th. 23. In the School Children s Section, the Class number must be clearly stated on the outside of the Competition Label; Name and School on the inside. 24. THE DECISION OF THE JUDGE IS FINAL. 25. The Competition Label must be attached to each exhibit showing the section and class number as indicated on the Schedule. 26. ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO ONE EXHIBIT PER PERSON IN EACH CLASS. 27. There is NO entry fee for any exhibit. 28. All exhibits to be the Competitors own unaided work. 29. All handiwork must have been completed within 12 months prior to the show. 30. No knitted article to be laundered before exhibition. 31. NO EXHIBITS MAY BE REMOVED BEFORE 4 p.m. 32. Any exhibits remaining after 4.30 p.m. may be sold for show funds. It should be noted that this show needs the support of the competitors in order to make for an enjoyable day. We would encourage anyone to have a go. If there is only one entry in each section, then it is no competition at all. Do not be afraid to have a go, who knows, you may win a first prize at something you ve never tried before, you may even find you enjoy doing it.
