4 STUD BEEF CATTLE Held under the by-laws and regulations of the Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. which are deemed to be included herein at full length. Please read the Regulations carefully. To avoid any misunderstandings and inconvenience to themselves, exhibitors are particularly requested to make themselves conversant with the conditions governing these Sections. 1. The Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. will not be responsible for any accident that may be caused through or by an exhibitor, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. harmless and indemnified against any legal proceedings arising from any such accident. 2. The lodgement of a completed Animal Application for Entry form will be taken as a guarantee that the animals specified therein are free from all disease as far as is known by the owner. In the case of an infectious disease being spread through or by an exhibit, the exhibitor shall be held responsible. 3. Precautions will be taken to guard against fire and to protect the property at the show, but exhibits will not be insured at the cost of the Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. 4. The Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. will not, under any circumstances, hold itself liable for any accident on the ground or premises, nor will the Society, under any circumstances, hold itself responsible for any loss, damage to, or mis-delivery of any exhibits. 5. Any exhibitor who does not comply with the above rules or any directions of the Chief Steward may be penalised or disqualified. Any dispute that may arise shall be decided by not less than three (3) members of the beef cattle sub-committee and their decision shall be final. REGULATIONS APPLYING TO STUD BEEF CATTLE SECTION 1. ENTRY a. All cattle entered must carry an NLIS device. b. All cattle entered in stud cattle classes must be registered in the name of the exhibitor as owner in a properly constituted herd book of the relevant breed association and must comply with the rules and regulations of the relevant breed association. c. All exhibitors to provide hard copy proof of $5million Public Liability cover with entry form. d. In all cases where age is a condition of entry, the understanding is that the exhibitor will, if called upon, sign a statutory declaration to the age of the animal entered. e.g. For all classes in which the age of the exhibit is a condition of the competition, the Animal Application for Entry form will state the actual date of birth, which will be attained at 1 June 2018 and the exhibit shall be entered in the classes accordingly. e. Calves shown with Dams are ineligible to compete in individual calf classes (except Junior Heifer Show). f. Any breed exhibiting 30 or more head will be eligible to be judged as their own breed section. g. The Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. reserves the right to combine classes in the event of there being insufficient numbers to judge as a single class. A maximum of two adjoining classes maybe combined. h. In the event of entry numbers being in excess of cattle accommodation, a restriction on the number of animals which may be exhibited in any one class by an exhibitor may be imposed, in which case a full refund of entry fees and levies will be made. i. Exhibitors are requested to pay particular attention to the Animal Application for Entry form which should be completed in all detail, as it is from this document that the catalogue will be compiled. j. The only person authorised to inject animals while they are at the showgrounds, is the honorary veterinarian, who shall advise the stewards if in their opinion such drug or tranquiliser is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be material to its chances of being awarded a prize. k. Entries will only be accepted via the attached Animal Application for Entry form, posted, faxed, ed or delivered in person to the Rockhampton Agricultural and Citizens Show Society Inc. l. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED

This is your entry from, health declaration and is suitable for use as a movement record. The Animal Application for Entry Form MUST accompany cattle when entering the Rockhampton Showgrounds. Entry may be refused if this form is not completed prior to arrival. A copy of the Animal Application for Entry Form must be retained by the exhibitor as their waybill. Animal Health Declaration Persons in charge of cattle must read the declaration and agree to the conditions of entry to the Rockhampton Agricultural Show on page 1. JBAS score must be listed in the Current Health Status column in the Animal Table on Page 2. JBAS requirements for cattle All cattle entering the Rockhampton Agricultural Show must be a JBAS score of 6, 7 or 8. This score must be disclosed in the Animal Table on page 2, under the Current Health Status column. Shed allocation for cattle will be conducted by the Rockhampton Agricultural Show. Management of JBAS at Rockhampton Agricultural Show is the exhibitor s responsibility, and exhibitors should understand the management options for Johnes disease and these should be identified in their own biosecurity plans. For good biosecurity practices in regards to Johnes disease, it is recommended that exhibitors ensure their: Cattle are tied up, unless being led or penned in their allocated enclosures, Cattle do not graze on grassed areas, Stalls and enclosures are kept clean and tidy and free of manure, During cleaning of stall/enclosures cattle are kept away from anything that has been contaminated by other animals, Feed and water containers are a minimum of 45cm above ground, Cattle under 12 months of age are kept separate (distance of 2m) in their stalls/enclosures from cattle of herds of a lower JBAS. 2. FEES (GST INCLUSIVE) a. Single Entry Nomination Fee: $20.00 per head (includes Bedding Levy). b. Group Entry Nomination Fee: $10.00 per group. c. Led Steer Nomination Fee: $30.00 per head. d. Catalogue - $5.00 each. e. Animal Application for Entry forms not accompanied by entry fees will not be accepted. f. EFTPOS facilities are available at the office for your convenience.

6 3. CAMPING a. Application for camping must be made on the Animal Application for Entry form. b. Camping is available in Victoria Park c. Camping fee is $30.00 per site for the duration of show. d. Power will be available 4. ARRIVAL a. Exhibits must be on the grounds prior to 7.30am Wednesday, 13 June b. Caravans/Trailer/Trucks are to be in place by 7.30am Wednesday, 13 June EXHIBITOR ENTRY a. All exhibitors and livestock attendants, must purchase an Exhibitor Wristband at a discounted rate of $5.00 to enter the grounds. b. Wristbands must be purchased and paid for on the Animal Application for Entry form. Full gate tickets will apply if purchased separately. c. Exhibitor Wristbands must be worn at all times. 6. ADMISSION OF VEHICLES a. Parking Permits must be ordered on the Animal Application for Entry form. b. Vehicles must have their Parking Permits displayed at all times (vehicles WILL BE towed if Parking Permits are not clearly displayed). c. No Parking Permit, no entry. 7. STOCK a. Exhibits must be weighed by 9.00am Wednesday, 13 June b. All bulls over the age of 12 months must be nose ringed, all females over 12 months and led steers must be ringed or dogged when handled on the grounds. Handlers must use nose leads at ALL times when handling these animals and it shall be the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that animals in the stud and led steer section which are brought onto the grounds are tractable and able to be restrained and handled without causing damage. c. Any Animal which behaves in an unsatisfactory manner may be expelled from the stud cattle area by order of the Chief Steward or Judge. d. All cattle are to be restrained properly at night with a halter and neck collar or chain. 8. BEDDING & FODDER a. Sawdust bedding will be provided by the Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. for use. b. The use of straw is not permitted due to fire regulations. c. The provision of fodder is the responsibility of the exhibitor. d. All communal water troughs will be unavailable. Exhibitors must provide their own buckets for stock water. 9. WASHING a. Washing of cattle on the grounds is permitted only in the designated wash bay areas and only using shampoo brands which are Phosphorus free. b. Failure to comply with this regulation will render Exhibitors liable to substantial fines under Department of Environment legislation and the animal ineligible to compete. 10. MOVEMENT RECORD a. Movement Records are a requirement under the Biosecurity Act When fully completed, the Animal Application for Entry form may be used as a movement record for transport of animals to and from the Rockhampton Agricultural Show, and take the place of a Waybill/NVD. If you are bringing animals for display only (not for competition entry, i.e. poddy calf), the compulsory fields on the Animal Table on page 2 are underlined for your convenience b. Only tick free stock will be allowed entry on to the grounds. Exhibitors returning to tick free country need to make their own clearance arrangements 11. NLIS a. All animals must have an NLIS device fitted prior to leaving the property of origin (this includes calves). b. Animal Application for Entry form must be submitted to the Chief Steward for processing of NLIS data. c. As a precaution it is advisable to have replacement tags available in the event of a missing or faulty tag. d. A replacement tag supplied by Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. may incur a fee.

7 e. For more information on the legal requirements when transporting animals, please call your local Biosecurity Inspector on or follow this link to the Queensland Government website: BIOSECURITY The Rockhampton Agricultural Show has a biosecurity plan in place, however all exhibitors have a general biosecurity obligation to manage the biosecurity risk of animals in their care. All exhibitors are reminded to be implement good biosecurity practices such as the following: a. Livestock must be in good health prior to and on arrival to the Rockhampton Agricultural Show. When signing the Animal Application for Entry form, you are declaring that your animals are in good health upon arrival and have been in good health for 7 days prior to the event. b. Exhibitors must handle livestock in accordance with the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001, and the applicable industry codes of practice. c. It is recommended that contact between livestock and the public and other livestock is limited and good hygiene is maintained. Hand sanitising stations will be provided on site for exhibitor and public use. d. It is recommended that exhibitors limit sharing tools and equipment between livestock originating from different herds and that all equipment be cleaned prior to use. e. Any vehicles and equipment must be clean prior to entry to the event grounds. General Clean Down Guidelines provides information on procedures that should be used when cleaning vehicles or machinery. This is agreed to when signing the Animal Application for Entry form. f. Livestock stalls and enclosures must remain clean. Waste material such as manure and contaminated bedding must be removed to the designated stockpiles located onsite. g. Feeding and watering facilities must be cleaned regularly. It is recommended that feed and water containers are 45cm high and positioned to prevent faecal contamination. Exhibitors should prevent livestock from sharing feed and water facilities. h. Exhibitors must supply fit for purpose livestock feed that does not contain or have been in contact with Restricted Animal Material (RAM). It is recommended that exhibitors have a Commodity Vendor Declaration with all livestock feed purchased. i. Exhibitors must follow the instructions given by the Rockhampton Agricultural Show Biosecurity Officer. If directed by the Biosecurity Officer, livestock will be moved to the onsite quarantine facility for testing and/or treatment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be available from the Biosecurity Kit, and must be used if directed. An on call veterinarian is available at exhibitor s own cost. 13. DEPARTURE Cattle entered for competition must be on display for the duration of the Show and are NOT permitted to leave the grounds prior to 4.00pm Friday, 15 June DOGS a. All dogs are to be leashed or otherwise restrained from roaming the Grounds. b. Failure to adhere to this rule can lead to dogs being collected by a Local Laws Officer. c. Not permitted in shed/stables. 15. AGE & DATE OF BIRTH FOR ALL BREEDS a. The following tables shows the birth date on or between which animals must have been born in order to be eligible for each age class b. Age as calculated at 1 June Calf Junior Senior 6 months & u/12 months 2 June December months & u/15 months 2 March June months & u/18 months 2 December March months & u/21months 2 September December months & u/24 months 2 June September months & over 1 June 2016 & before

8 16. GROUPS a. All animals to have been exhibited in their respective classes. b. Breeders Groups (All Breeds except Brahmans) - To consist of three (3) exhibits, males and female, bred by the exhibitor. c. Brahman Breeders Group To consist of a pair of males and a pair of females, not necessarily owned but bred by the Exhibitor. d. Sire's Progeny Groups To consist of three (3) progeny males and/or female, all from the same sire and owned by the exhibitor. (The sire s name to be listed). e. Dam's Progeny Group - To consist of three (3) progeny males and/or female, all from the same dam and owned by the exhibitor. (The dam s name to be listed). 17. JUDGING a. The entries will be arranged and paraded in order from youngest to oldest in each class. b. For championship prizes (Senior Champion, Junior Champion, Calf champion), all 1 st prize winners of each sex and breed to compete. After selecting the champion, the judge will be required to select an animal which will take the place of the Champion in the event of the latter being disqualified for any cause. The Reserve Champion shall be selected from the remaining 1 st prize animals, together with 2 nd prize of the class which furnished the champion. c. A Supreme Champion Bull and Female shall be awarded with the Grand Champion or Champion of each breed as the case may be to compete. A Supreme Champion Breeders Group shall be awarded with the winning breeders group from each breed to compete. d. The order of presentation of ribbons will be 1 st - Blue, 2 nd - Red, 3 rd White 18. EXHIBITOR ATTIRE a. All persons parading stock in the Judging ring are required to be neatly presented. b. A plain white dust coat MUST be worn whilst parading. c. No stud or breed society branding on clothing or equipment is permitted to be worn or displayed during judging. d. Young Judges are required to wear a blazer/sports jacket whilst judging. 19. Bank account details NOT received before the completion of the Show, will result in the prize money being forfeited to the Rockhampton Agricultural & Citizens Show Society Inc. d. Prize Money will be halved if two (2) or less competitors enter any Beef Cattle Class.

15 SPECIAL REGULATIONS STUD BEEF & PRIME BEEF (For the conduct of Stud Beef, Prime Beef competitions at QCAS affiliated Queensland Agricultural Shows) Subject to the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Society s Inc. (QCAS) and the Society/Association relevant to this schedule, the following Special Cattle Regulations shall apply. Where there is a conflict between these regulations and the regulations and rules of the local Agricultural Society, the rules of the Affiliated Agricultural Society prevail. These regulations are to be read in conjunction with the General Regulations contained in this schedule. 1. NOTICE TO INTENDING EXHIBITORS 1.1 Stewards at Affiliated Shows have the right to remove any animal from the judging ring, public area, including stalls, if that animal is a danger to the safety of the public and other exhibitors. 1.2 Any persons causing a nuisance by loud comments or the decision of the judges or otherwise unseemly behaviour will, after being cautioned, be expelled from the showgrounds and in the case of exhibitors, be liable for disqualification. 1.3 The Stewards shall have the power to redirect any beast to its correct class, BUT if the exhibitor objects the Steward can then ask that the animal in question and the person in charge exit the judging ring. 1.4 In Breed Classes, registration papers (where applicable) must be available at the Show as proof of registration. 1.5 An Exhibitor required by the Show Section Schedule or rules of the Affiliated Society to parade an exhibit in the Grand Parade and who fails to do so, shall not be entitled to and shall forfeit any prize money or trophy to that Exhibitor and/or for that Exhibit. 1.6 All bovine over four (4) months must have appropriate nose grips and all bulls over 12 months must have a nose ring. All stock MUST be in the charge of exhibitor or representative at all times. 2. JUDGING OF ANIMALS 2.1. A Judge shall have no further information provided other than what is provided on the Neck Card of each entry by the Affiliated Show Society Judging in Stud Classes to be on the basis of merits of the animal for breeding purposes Should it be necessary to reduce numbers as a result of entries exceeding the available space for Stud Cattle, the first action will be to eliminate multiple entries by any single exhibitor in any one class The section Chief Steward reserves the right to reallocate space previously allocated to any exhibitor upon the arrival of their exhibits on the grounds if the numbers indicated by them do not arrive No animal will be allowed in the judging ring, unless its correct age and weight, if applicable, is on its neck card An Exhibitor shall not compete nor show any animal in a section if the animal has been owned or leased by the Judge or a member of the Judge s immediate family or if the Judge is the Exhibitor s employer or business partner An Exhibitor shall not compete if the Exhibitor or any animal being shown by the Exhibitor has been given tuition by the Judge or the Judge s business partner within ONE (1) month prior to or during the show An Exhibitor is ineligible to compete, if the Exhibitor has employed or has been employed by or has been a business partner of the Judge of the Section within three (3) months prior to or during the holding of the Show A Judge shall not visit the livestock-housing complex of the Agricultural Society, nor the owners, nor inspect or discuss any animal entered in the Show prior to or during the judging of the relevant section In Breed Classes, ALL animals must have current Registration and Ownership Certificates with the Breed Society Judging will be performed by a Judge or panel of Judges appointed by the Society In the event of the Judge deciding that the exhibits in any Class are not worthy of a prize, no prize will be awarded.

16 2.13. It is considered good ethics that if a Junior Judge or Associate Judge has been judging in his/her own right at any affiliated Agricultural Show, they are not eligible to enter the Young Judges competition at that Show, BUT they can still enter at another Show where they are not acting in a judging roll Judge shall not adjudicate at more than one show within 30 days within a Sub-Chamber unless judging different sections. This rule applies to all affiliated agricultural show sections In all affiliated Agricultural Show sections, Judges should not judge the same section within a two (2) year period at the same show Judging cards and performance records shall be completed by the committee person in charge, Chief Steward and/or the Judge of a section (if required) during or immediately after the judging of the section or at the Judge s convenience If a Judge is unable to fulfil a judging commitment, the Judge shall notify the Society as soon as possible so a replacement can be arranged A Judge shall not send a substitute Judge but may nominate a replacement judge to the society. All invitations to judge shall be sent by the affiliated Society A Society shall report to QCAS any Judge who fails to attend a Show to which he or she has accepted an invitation to judge or, who has failed to judge at the time advertised for the commencement of the class provided that the failure to attend or appear is without reasonable cause A Judge may not officiate, and compete or exhibit in the same section at the same show unless exceptional circumstances exist such as sickness or unavailability of the appointed Judge A Steward assisting the Judge in a particular section shall remove him/herself from the section if within a period of THREE (3) months prior to or during the show he/she or any member of their immediate family, business partners, or employee has owned, leased, bred, trained or schooled an animal or competitor exhibiting in any class in that section An Exhibitor shall not compete in a section if the Exhibitor is a member of the Judge s immediate family No Exhibitors shall deface or alter registration papers or performance cards for any exhibit A Judge or Steward must not knowingly permit an ineligible Exhibit or Exhibitor to compete No Exhibitor or members of the Exhibitor s immediate family or employed by the Exhibitor shall approach a Judge with regard to a decision made by the Judge unless they first obtain permission from the Committee person in charge or Steward of the Section. 3. IDENTIFICATION AND AGE OF CATTLE 3.1. All animals must bear a brand, either tattooed (in ear) or fire. The brands and or tattoo must be stated on the entry form Age of all cattle to be 1 st day of month of the affiliated show where competing The exhibitor of any female 3 years old or over which does not have a calf at foot shall supply proof or furnish a veterinary certificate that such exhibit is either in calf or has bred during the two years prior to the show A certificate to this effect must be produced to the Chief Steward before judging. If in the case of any exhibit in the opinion of the judge: a. The Exhibit is not in a healthy breeding condition; or b. For any other reason its breeding potential is or has been reduced, such exhibit shall not receive a prize An animal shall not be penalized for accidental injury which in the opinion of the Judge does not affect its breeding capacity. 4. DENTITION 4.1. With the exception of Prime Beef classes, only cattle showing not more than four permanent incisors may be exhibited (Some Classes may provide for a lesser number). Whether an exhibit is showing the correct number of teeth shall be subject to determination by the Chief Steward. 5. INSURANCE 5.1 All exhibitors must have Public Liability Insurance and to have same endorsed for traveling to affiliated Agricultural Shows. 6. WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY 6.1. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to ensure that the leaders of their stock in judging rings, Grand Parades and exercise areas are capable of exercising control over the animals in their care. Children under 12 years of age leading cattle in the Grand Parade MUST be accompanied by an Adult over 18 years of age Each exhibitor/competitor will assess the risk to themselves, staff, volunteers, family, other exhibitors, show stewards, show visitors and any person foreseeably affected by the presentation of their exhibit.

17 6.3. The exhibitors/competitors are required to ensure that they and all persons under their direction or control comply with all requirements of the current Workplace Health and Safety Act, and the Affiliated Show Society holds each exhibitor responsible to discharge its obligations to provide and maintain a safe place and system of work during occupation by the exhibitor/competitor of any area of the Showgrounds Energised electric fences are prohibited on the showground at any time, without the express permission of the society or unless specified in the societies schedule. Any fences are to be suitable signed. 7. BIOSECURITY FOR CATTLE 7.1 All QCAS affiliated agricultural societies have developed a comprehensive Agricultural Show Biosecurity Plan and all event organisers, competitors and spectators have a joint responsibility to ensure the successful implementation of a biosecurity plan. 7.2 It is the responsibility of the owner/person in charge of the stock, to ensure all cattle movement with regard to ticks have been met, by contacting their nearest Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries office, to acquire a Travel Permit with endorsed treatments if necessary. Persons not fulfilling requirements will be refused entry to showgrounds. 7.3 All cattle to have National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) identification tags. 7.4 The QCAS NLIS Fact Sheet is available at National Vendor Declaration Form / Waybill must be submitted with the Travel Permit at the showgrounds. 7.6 All cattle must be accompanied by a current version of the NVD. 8. EXCLUSION OF ANIMALS 8.1. Any animal, which in the opinion of the Stewards is not in a fit state to be exhibited, may be rejected by them and debarred from competing in the class or classes for which it is entered. Any animal rejected must be removed from the judging ring as soon as the exhibitor is notified. 9. EXHIBITOR ATTIRE 9.1. All persons leading Stock during judging or parades are required to be neatly attired. A plain grey or white dust coat or any other Breed Society colour dust coat or jacket approved by the Chief Steward must be worn. Stud Brands embossed on clothing or equipment must not be displayed during judging. STUD BEEF CATTLE 10. REGISTRATION 10.1 All cattle entered must be registered in the name of the exhibitor, as owner in a Herd Book of the respective breed recognised by the Association for that breed in accordance with the Rules of the Herd Book Society, provided that an animal shall be deemed to be so registered if the exhibitor furnishes proof at time of the entry. Registration certificate must be made available to Stewards if requested Dual Society Registered animals can be shown in one breed only Cattle can enter in Large or miniature/small breeds but cannot enter in both. 11. Age of Exhibits Animals 20 months and under are to be shown in the junior section Animals up to 48 months will be shown in the senior section Affiliated Shows may have a senior up to any age class. PRIME BEEF CATTLE 12. JUDGING Judging will be on the basis of their ability to meet respective market (Trade or Export) suitability. Consideration will be given to the age and weight of each exhibit No heifer in calf will be eligible to compete in Prime Beef. Any prize awarded to any heifer/cow found, after being sold or killed, to be in calf, shall be forfeited. No bull or stag may compete in any Class All cattle entered in this division must be dehorned or poll. Horned cattle which have not been dehorned will not be eligible to compete.
