1 2017 Florida Junior Brahman Association State Show June 9-10, 2017 Southeastern Livestock Pavilion 2232 NE Jacksonville Road Ocala, FL Entry forms can be found under the FJBA tab of the FBA website Monday, May 8, 2017 Thank you Rabon s Country Feed for being our main sponsor of our FJBA State Show! 2017 AJBA All American Rules and classes will be followed. Click on Download Entry Packet The following exceptions will be made: 1. Measures will be offered but not enforced. 2. There will not be a Sales Talk or Herdsman Quiz. 3. AJBA age restrictions no not apply to Senior Division. Exhibitors up to 21 years may participate. Public Speaking Contest First place winners of the Intermediate and Senior Divisions will receive an entry to the 2017 TBF/AJBA Leadership Camp. The camp will be held at Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS on July 17-18, This leadership camp is paid for, you will be responsible for your own travel expenses. Subject Matter Each contestant is to pick their own topic, which should reflect the current events in the Brahman breed and beef industry. Length of Speech Jr Division 3-6 minutes; Intermediate & Sr Division 5-10 minutes Points will be deducted from the contestant s score for not meeting the appropriate time limit at the rate of 1 point per every 10 seconds the speech runs over or under the set time limit. Time-keepers will be designated to inform judges of time faults.
2 Photography Contest Guidelines: 1. Contestants may enter ONE photo. All work must be that of the contestant. Photos entered must be the contestant s current year s work and cannot have been presented for competition at previous All Americans. 2. Photos cannot be altered or image enhanced in any way. 3. Photo entries must be 8x10 in color or black and white prints. Entries may not be matted or framed. Photos are to me submitted in a folder. Photos should be themed around the following categories: Brahman Cattle Photographs that highlight Brahman or F-1 cattle on the farm or ranch or at a Brahman event. The cattle should be the dominant focus of the picture. Landscapes Photographs that focus on the scenery around the farm or ranch. Brahman or F-1 cattle should be included in the photo. People Photographs that show a Brahman junior and/or family, friends, fellow junior members, etc., either involved in activities on the farm or ranch or at a Brahman event. Poster Contest Posters should be themed around the following categories: Junior Division: Breed Promotion Highlight the attributes and value of registered Brahman cattle or Certified/Golden Certified F-1 s in the beef industry, in a successful cattle enterprise, or in a crossbreeding program. Intermediate Division: Association Promotion/Membership Recruitment Highlight the benefits of active membership in the ABBA, AJBA, F-1 Program or a state or regional affiliate Brahman association and develop and illustrate ideas and themes to recruit new members for the association. Senior Division: Herd Advertisement Create print advertisement suitable for promotion of a fictitious Brahman cattle or Golden Certified F-1 operation. The exhibitor may not advertise their own ranch, nor can they use their own ranch name. FJBA Queen and Princess Both FJBA Queen and Princess will be crowned at this event. If you want to run for either, please check the appropriate box on the entry form.
3 Entry Fees are $15.00 per head for FJBA Members and $25.00 per head for nonmembers. Late entry fees are $30.00 per head and $50.00 per head for non-members. Entries must be postmarked or ed on or before May 26, Late entries will be accepted until June 2, After June 2, a $75.00 per head entry for members and a $ per head fee for non-members will apply. Entry Forms may be ed to FJBA.Show@outlook.com but entry fees must be mailed and postmarked by the due date, May 26. Those ing entry forms will receive an confirmation of receipt but it is your responsibility to make sure your entry fees were received. Mailed Entry Forms will receive an confirmation of forms and fees when they have been received.
