3 2017 Annual Banquet The National Banquet will be held at the fairgrounds. Banquet will be Friday August 25, 2017 at 7:00pm. (Casual Attire). The cost of the meal will be $10.00 (Pay at the Door). The 81st Annual Members meeting will be held prior to the banquet. The King/Queen will be announced along with the scholarship winners. There will be an election of three new Board of Directors members. Any other business and the recognition of the breeder registering the most hogs during the past year. The Silent Auction will be held during the national show. Please bring an item to help support the Association. Please have your items marked and on display prior to the banquet. We will close the silent auction prior to the sale on Saturday, August 26, Entry Information All animals entering the show and sale shall be ear notched and shall be registered in the National Hereford Hog Record Association BEFORE the date of sale. All pedigrees, All registration certificates, properly transferred will be furnished as soon as all checks have cleared the bank, to the new owners. 2 copies of Health Papers need to brought to the sale. Interstate Health paper is needed and no blood test are required. All pigs MUST have a Premises ID/840 tag must be in the ear prior to coming to the show Each exhibitor is allowed to bring 2 boars and 8 gilts. The 8 gilts may be a combination of open & bred gilts. You can only enter I boar per name, and no more than 6 head from a farm. All entries MUST be postmarked on or before August 16, Any entries made after August 16, 2017 will be charged $50.00 a head for the late entry. Late entries can be made up until check in. Each hog must be accompanied by The original and one copy of an official interstate health certificate issued by a licensed, accredited vet. Certificate must show name and address of consignor; consigned to the National Hereford Hog Show and Sale; Preble County Fairgrounds, official identification of animal; and health status of animal including the dates of required tests and vaccinations. 2. 5 2017 NATIONAL HEREFORD HOG KING AND QUEEN CONTEST A National Show and Sale would not be completed without a King or Queen Contest or both. The National Hereford Hog Record Association is again sponsoring a King/Queen contest. Candidates must be single, age as of November and must be daughter/son, or a Member or Junior Member of the National Hereford Hog Association. Each contestant will be expected to present his/her self in dressy street clothes and will present a short oral presentation, not to exceed five minutes in length and not to be read. The subject shall relate to one of the following: 1. How to promote more pork consumption. 2. The Value of pork nutrition. 3. What the housewife can do the help the pork market. 4. Let s sell pork. 5. How retailers can make pork more appealing to consumers. 6. Or choose your own topic as long as it pertains to pork industry. Those present at the National Banquet will choose.
