2 Greetings Triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in the country amongst all ages, and we are lucky in the Greater Waterbury region to have two significant race series- Pat Griskus Sprint and Olympic Triathlons and the Revolution3 Olympic and Half Iron Triathlons - which draw athletes both from around the country and the world. The is the largest - and only non-profit - triathlon club, serving multisport and single sport athletes of all ages and abilities in and around the Greater Waterbury Area. Our goal is to help our community of athletes embrace the multi-sport lifestyle in a fun, supportive and social environment. Will you consider sponsoring the for our 2012 season? Your support will be noticed by a growing number of triathletes who live, work, train and race in Connecticut. As our sport and our Club continue to grow eponentially, so too does the number of athletes, spectators and bystanders who will see the advertising of our sponsors. The also volunteers throughout the community in support of local programs, including the four triathlons mentioned above, the Achieve Kids Triathlon and the Hoof it for Haiti 5k in Southbury, CT. The partnership that we are most proud of is the Achieve Kids Triathlon Program. Adapted by the Waterbury Y in 2010, this program joins inner-city and suburban youth to provide them with the opportunity to build friendships, confidence and strength and to discover the sport of triathlon together, free of charge. A portion of your sponsorship will be directed toward the 2012 Achieve Kids Tri Program. The club s goal is to help our community of athletes embrace the multi-sport lifestyle in a fun, supportive and social environment. Interesting facts: Did you know? In 2011, 93% of the Greater Waterbury YMCA Triathlon Club did one or more sprint triathlons and... 50% completed one or more charity events such as Tough Mudder, CT Challenge Bike Ride, Aids/Lifecycle 550 mile Ride, and many others. Triathletes in our club range from first timers to Ironmen who have competed in the sport for over 10 years. All club members noted camaraderie, quality of life and unforgettable eperiences when asked why they enjoy being part of the YMCA Triathlon Club. Benefits of Sponsorship In three years club membership tripled to 80 members. As the sport and club continue to grow, so too does the number of athletes, spectators and bystanders that will see sponsorship advertising. The Greater Waterbury region hosts two significant race series: Pat Griskus Triathlon Series and Revolution 3 Olympic and Half Iron Triathlons. In addition to local athletes, both draw national and international athletes. The Y Triathlon Club promotes volunteerism amongst athletes, partnering with local programs and other major local triathlons and road races.
