2 All Mast Are Welcomed If you re looking for a place to step your mast, JPYC is the spot. The stepping rate for non-jpyc members is $4 a foot, one of the best deals on the lake. Boats up to 42 have pulled up to the gin pole. Appointments are required. To make your appointment call JPYC at Membership application available online. You must use your key card when accessing the parking lot EVEN IF THE ARM IS UP and again when exiting EVEN IF THE ARM IS UP. If you do not use your key card when you enter and the arm is subsequently closed while you are parked you will not be able to get out unless you had used your key card when you entered. 3

5 THE SHIP s STORE To make room for new inventory, I will have "old" items on sale. Sale prices will be CASH only (not checks or credit card). Now is the time to get your club logo gear for the WINTER season. Come see me and let's find something for you. Or bring me an item you already have that you would like the club logo put on. 6 The Club relies on volunteers for the many tasks needed to keep the Club operating efficiently and to keep dues at a reasonable level. There is one full-time employee, supplemented with part-time help as needed. The board of directors is elected at the annual meeting in December, and there are many committees to plan and execute the events which make for an enjoyable year. All members are encouraged to help with the governance. and operation of the Club. "If you are a member, you ARE a volunteer!" Past Commodore, Mary Avellone Sitting where our dinghy ramp is now, the replica of the Nîna from the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair. Her mast was later used as the maststepping pole. Bring a snack or dish to share with everyone. GALLEY Saturday & Sunday Brunch 9A 2P Saturday Dinner 6P-8P Mario & Lila will serve a one-time through brunch buffet offering fresh pastries, fruit, grits, sausages, fiesta potatoes, made-to-order pancakes, waffles, omelets, and more. Dinner changes weekly. See Commodore s Cup for our Saturday night menu. Reservations are a must! Remember to use up your prepaid brunches. They do not roll over to the following year. The last day to enjoy brunch this season is on October 4 th. RACE COMMITTEE Saturday, September 12 th 9A Thanks to everyone for making this racing season a memorable one. Obyss will be performing. Bring some snacks to share, music requests, money for tips and your friends and family to meet under the veranda. They will perform every Sunday for the rest of the season as long as we show up. It s the perfect way to end the weekend. POPCORN PARTY Saturdays (Sept 19) 4P-6P, 8P-10P Sundays (Sept 13 & 20) 10A-2P Would you like to get the party started at the Club? WORK DAY Saturday, October 10 th 8A 5P The season is quickly coming to a close. It s time to clean up after all the fun we ve had this summer. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Remember, it s our responsibility to keep the Club clean especially the galley area. We do not want to invite any pests. They love little crumbs and scraps that we leave on dirty dishes, tables and floors. BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS February 2016 Mark your calendars and get your passports ready. This winter, some members will be escaping the cold to sail in the British Virgin Islands. More details will follow. ANNOUNCEMENTS MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE The JPYC Directory is available on our website. Contact Laura Beck at (937) to make an appointment. JPYC LOAN PROGRAM Would you like to play on our newest equipment? Just stop by the office to speak with the Steward about availability, fill out a 2015 Liability Form, and enjoy. We ve got all sorts of fun options for you at the Club: kayaks, Flying Js, bikes or Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP). Everyone (including guests) must fill out a new 2015 Liability Form prior to riding. Remember safety comes first. Wear a life vest whenever you re on or around the water or a bicycle helmet when riding a bike.
8 HOUSE The lockers are ready. If you d like a locker, please see the Steward for availability. Additional fees are required. Also, remember to sign for ice in the Ice House. A new lock combination will be located on the top portion of the Ice Sheet in the Ice House. SAFETY & SECURITY Whether we re coming by to drink a cup of coffee, use the facilities or just sit on the balcony, it s everyone s responsibility to keep our buildings and equipment safe and secure. Every guest must be accompanied by a member when visiting the Club. Remember to be sure every exterior door (including the Ice House) is locked. It s inexpensive for our members (only $50) and reasonably priced for non-members ($4.50 per mast foot). Speak with our Steward to make an appointment. In the event that you require a mast to remain on the grassy area for an extended time, please speak with our Steward or your mast may be placed back on the storage rack. RECIPROCITY Everyone loves to travel. Why not visit one of the yacht clubs in another location?! Well, you have an opportunity to visit other yacht clubs all around the world.
