I hope eveyone is having a good summe and fo those who have functioning boats, getting in some boating. My neighbo thought one of my kids must be getting maied because we ve been home doing yad wok this summe. No wedding, just a boken boat. The weathe has been petty decent othe than the Luau weekend. Speaking of the Luau, thanks to Steve and Michelle fo pulling things togethe on shot notice and putting togethe a geat paty. I hate to even think of it but befoe long fall and constuction season at the GBYC will be hee. Constuction on the East shoe and Lighthouses will bing some challenges to the club so it s neve too ealy to plan ahead. To facilitate the East shoe wok, it MIGHT be necessay to adjust the date of Dock so watch fo details and plan accodingly. It sue has been a hot and humid one. Always adding a few dinks at the ba. Check out the postes and give the new dinks a go. As most know Todd is in the back by himself. We have made a decision that on Tuesdays he will not be making Mexican fae. He isn t able to put in the pep time necessay which leads to waste. Thanks fo undestanding this. We have had a geat yea ecuiting new membes both social and full. In ode to make you club expeience a good one, we have oientation once a month to show the new membes the ins and outs of thei new club. Unfotunately it hasn t been attended vey well. To emedy this, when a new membe is signed up they will eceive thei gate cad and eveything will be woking. If oientation is not attended in the fist two months the cad will be tuned off until it is attended. Oientation is held the same night that the boad meets which is the fist Monday afte the fist Thusday. If you can t make those nights call me ( ) and we will set up a diffeent date fo you. Finally Packe games will be stating. Watch all the games at the club, it s a geat way to chee them on. Also this yea being the optimist, Thee will be dink and food specials when the Bewes ae in this post season. Go Bewes!!!

3 Gassy Island Range Lights Have you seen the endeing of what the beak wall upon which the Gassy Island Range Lights stand. It is on top of the fieplace in the clubhouse. Beautiful! The pemitting pocesses have been completed. The bidding pocess has begun. The plan is to have all bids to Mead and Hunt by the 18th of August. I have seen the dawings and ead the specifications. I have to say that the enginees ean thei place in the constuction industy. WOW! An open house was conducted at the GBYC on Tuesday, July 24 fo the bidding contactos to meet with the enginees fom Mead and Hunt to eview the specifications and walk ove the aea to be tuned into the endeing. It is happening! What does a lighthouse do? I ask myself. It neve moves. It cannot hike up its ocky skit and dash into the ocean to escue the foundeing ship. It cannot calm the wates o clea the shoals. It can only cast light into the dakness. It can only point the way. Yet, though one lighthouse, you guide many ships. Show this old lighthouse the way. I can think of no othe edifice constucted by man as altuistic as a lighthouse. They wee built only to seve. Gounds Dawn Demeny Ahoy eveyone. Remembe Joey is hee Thusday and Fiday 4-8pm and Satuday and Sunday fom 9am to 2pm fo gas. The aeatos ae eveyone's esponsibility. Please check them often to keep them fee of debis.
