4 2.0 Safety Checklist The Spnge-Jet Inc. Recycler is a pressurized system. Only trained peratrs shuld adjust, maintain and repair this equipment. Inbund pressure shuld never exceed 8.6bar (125psi). All pneumatic lines shuld be inspected fr hles, wear and prper fit. Safety pins and restraints shuld be fitted at all Air Hse cuplings t prevent accidental discnnectin. Vibrating parts shuld never cme in cntact with static r statinary items. Verify the unit is stable, secure and n a flat surface. D nt perate withut the safety skirt in place. Befre all activities (ther than nrmal peratin), ensure the entire system is depressurized. 5 3.0 Requirements 3.1 Air Supply/Cmpressr Clean, dry cmpressed air must be supplied. This unit requires a minimum air supply f 2m³/min (70cfm) at 2.8bar (40psi). 3.2 Air Supply Cnnectin This unit has a 12.7mm (.5in) standard pipe typically fitted with a 12.7mm (.5in) universal 2 lug cupling. The air supply hse shuld be fitted with a mating cnnectr r replace bth cnnectrs as desired. Cnnect a minimum 12.7mm (.5in) supply hse t Supply Line Cnnectin. Nte: High humidity envirnments require additinal misture separatrs. 3.3 Ambient Temperature _ 32º F 0º C Ambient temperature shuld be abve 0 Celsius (32 Fahrenheit). Otherwise: a) Use winter grade pneumatic tl il in lubricatr. b) Minimize misture in supply air. c) Bearing grease will thicken in cld envirnments, requiring use f lw temperature grease. Warming the unit prir t peratin may be required. 3.4 Media Waste & Cllectin _ Cntainers are necessary under each dwnsput fr cllectin and transprt Spnge Media and waste. 6 4.0 Operatin Befre Recycler Pressurizatin and Operatin: Vibrating parts shuld never cme in cntact with static r statinary items. Verify the unit is stable, secure and n a flat surface. All pneumatic lines shuld be inspected fr hles, wear and prper fit. Safety pins and restraints shuld be fitted at all Air Hse cuplings t prevent accidental discnnectin. Befre all activities (ther than nrmal peratin), ensure the entire system is depressurized. Make sure the unit is unrestricted. Rigid cnnectins reduce efficiency and can lead t damage. Check Pan Clamps fr tightness. They shuld nt exceed 14kg (30lbs.) each at the end f the lever handle. Adjust by turning Pan Clamp Hk. 7 Cnnect air supply hse t Supply Line Cnnectin and secure with safety pins and restraints. Nte: Regulatrs are factry set between bar (35-40psi) and shuld nt require adjustment. _ Cnfirm pneumatic tl il is visible in Lubricatr (see sectin 5.0). _ Place buckets/bags under each Particle Dwnsput. _ Turn n by pening Air Inlet Valve. _ Add blasted Spnge Media thrugh Hpper. _ Spnge-Jet Recycler 35P / 35P-CE / 50P / 50P-CE User Manual 7 f 19

8 Oversized particles are ejected frm Large Particle Dwnsput. WASTE: Dispse f Prperly Recyclable Spnge Media is ejected frm Reusable Media Dwnsput. RECYCLABLE MEDIA: T create wrking mix, add 5% t 10% new Spnge Media; this mixture is nw ready t blast. Smaller cntaminants and spent Spnge Media are ejected frm Fine Particle Dwnsput. WASTE: Dispse f Prperly Imprtant: Determining acceptable dust levels is dependant upn the prject envirnment. If lwer dust levels are required, pass recycled Spnge Media thrugh Hpper ne r mre additinal cycles. Spnge-Jet Recycler 35P / 35P-CE / 50P / 50P-CE User Manual 8 f 19

9 5.0 Maintenance IMPORTANT: Under NO circumstances shuld any inspectin, adjustment r lubricatin be cnducted while running r cnnected t an air supply. 5.1 Bearing Grease This unit was greased befre shipment. Add grease using 1 t 2 pumps every hurs f peratin. If the unit has nt been used fr ne year, add 1 t 2 pumps f grease. Use quality NLGI #2 grease such as: - Citc AP, Citc il - Val-Lith #IP, Valvline C. - Ore-Lube K2 - VS SGA, MM Industries, Inc. - Mbilux, Mbil Oil C. - Multifak #2, Texac Inc. - Scny, Mbil Oil C. - Alvanie R#, Shell Oil C. 5.2 Access t Grease Fittings The tw bearings shuld be greased by fittings n the side f the machine. 10 5.3 The Lubricatr Check the pneumatic il level in Lubricatr. _ Refill with pneumatic tl il thrugh the fill prt n tp as required. Use nly SAE 5W (ISO 32) NON-DETERGENT OIL _ Spnge-Jet Recycler 35P / 35P-CE / 50P / 50P-CE User Manual 10 f 19

11 Sieve Assembly NOTE: Failure t prperly assemble and fasten Sieve Assembly will dramatically shrten it s perating life. Assemble as fllws: Place Fine Particle Dwnsput thrugh hle prvided in Vibratry Sectin. Nte: Be sure dwnsput is centered. 2. Place a Flat Gasket int Shallw Funnel. 3. Place the Bttm Screen (#16*mesh) nt Flat Gasket. IMPORTANT: Place mesh screen side up** 4. Place a Flat Gasket nt the mesh f Bttm Screen. 5. Place Main Rim ver Flat Gasket. 6. Place a Flat Gasket int tp f Main Rim. 7. Place Tp Screen (#3* mesh) int Main Rim and n tp f Flat Gasket. IMPORTANT: Place mesh screen side up** 8. Place a Flat Gasket nt the Tp Screen, making sure t center the Flat Gasket. 9. Place Hpper ver Flat Gasket. 10. Attach all Pan Clamps. These must be adjusted prperly t secure Sieve Assembly (refer t 4.0 Operatin). *Tp Screen standard size is #3; Bttm Screen standard size is #16 unless ther sizes are specified r prvided. 9 **Screens must be assembled with mesh side up. 12 6.0 Trubleshting Unit wn't turn n r vibratin is slw Spnge Media is exiting Large Particle Dwnsput Cnfirm Pressure Gauge reads between bar(35-40psi). If unit temperature is near freezing r belw, a) Warming the unit prir t peratin may be required. b) Use winter grade pneumatic tl il in lubricatr. c) Minimize misture in supply air. If vibratin is slw but unit is perating, run withut Spnge Media until vibratin nrmalizes. Cnfirm Tp Screen is prperly installed and free f debris. When Blasting, excessive amunts f dust are bserved Cnfirm Bttm Screen is prperly installed. Additinal dust reductin can be achieved by: 1. Passing Spnge Media thrugh unit again. 2.
