4 WHAT IS SNOWKIDZ? FIS SnowKidz is the first phase of the Bring Children to the Snow campaign. It is a unique program and communications platform that enables Organisers around the world to share and showcase events to bring children to the snow. Events can occur at any time and in any place around the world. For more information visit WHAT IS THE SNOWKIDZ AWARD As part of the Bring Children to the Snow campaign, the FIS Member National Ski Associations (full and associate members) are invited to submit their projects to compete for the FIS SnowKidz Award. The Award is presented every second year and aims to recognize and promote the best examples of bringing children to the snow, in varying national circumstances. It is designed to give future SnowKidz Awards applicants an insight into why this award recipient has been selected the in top three. It is the hope that future applicants will also find helpful hints and ideas on improving their events.

7 PROJECT DESCRIPTION Snow Moves! Is the evolution of the previously successful Hill Tournament for Kids. The program aims to make snow sports participation as easy as possible either at school or at a local ski clubs. It gives support to ski club activities by co-organising special events and providing materials to help to train the trainers. When working with schools teachers are provided comprehensive curriculums which can be implemented at schools with ease. The program also incorporates athletes to motivate children and show them the fun of snow sports beyond school. Information

For example, is it possible to accommodate 200 schoolkids for the event. As well as measuring participants at events, after events we analyze the new participants. Questions are asked to gather data on how they enjoyed the event and what can be improved. So in essence the quality is measured by the participants, the kids! The project was launched by the Finnish Ski and Biathlon Association. All people involved have a long term vision.
