1 2018 Canadian National Wake Park Championships Technical Guide V.1 Thursday Aug 16 th & Friday Aug 17 th Pointes Wake Park, Pointe Calumet QC CONTENTS: REGISTRATION PRICING CATEGORIES OFFICIALS SCHEDULE COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS WAKE PARK RULES ACCOMODATION DIRECTIONS MEDICAL/HOSPITALS REGISTRATION: Registration for the 2018 Wake Park National Championships at Point Calumet will on-site only. All payment will be made ON SITE Only. The Canadian Wake Park Championships will be returning to the freshly restored Pointes Wake Park in Point Calumet, QC for Two of Quebec s top riders Yan Tibo and Alex Savoie have taken over the management of the park, and have been working diligently to produce an exciting new fleet of unique features. The event will take place Thursday and Friday and will include both amateur and pro categories. Payments for registration are to made upon arrival at Pointes Wake Park in Point Calumet, QC. Registration will cost $50 (CASH ONLY) per category athletes compete in. Riders will need their WSWC competitive membership to compete. For those who don t have their WSWC or WSWQC competitive membership there is a one-time $20 membership that you can purchase for the event on-site only!

2 SCHEDULE: Registration will be On-site on Wednesday Aug 15 th from 3pm 5pm and on Thursday Morning from 8AM 9AM **ALL Athletes Must register & Check-in THURSDAY Morning by 9AM at the latest! No registrations will be accepted after 9AM on Thursday. Wednesday Aug 15 th : 3-5pm On-site Athlete registration and check-in Thursday Aug 16 th : 8AM-9AM Registration, 10AM Qualifiers all categories Friday Aug 17 th : Finals All Categories Practice: The cable will be open to the public for riding the week leading up to the event. Official event practice will be Thursday morning from 8am 9:45am. And Friday from 8AM 9AM. Cuts are made to narrow the field for the following rounds based on divisions with 8 or more riders. All cuts will go to a last chance qualifier, all riders who qualify will automatically move onto the next round. LCQ If a rider is cut from a qualifying round they will be placed into a Last Chance Qualifying round. Depending on the number of riders in each division they will have an opportunity to qualify for the next round through the LCQ round. Semi finals; The previous round to the finals. Made up of results of previous rounds and seeding. This is primarily the first round of competition for 75% of participants for Canadian Nationals, where all riders advance to the finals. Typical of 8 or less participants in a division. Finals; The final round of competition where athletes have qualified through previous rounds, for a chance to place on the podium. Made up of 8 or less athletes.

5 SEEDING FOR HEATS: Seeding will be based off of 2017 Canadian Wake Park Championships 16 competitors: Heat #1: Seeds 13, 12, 5, 4 Heat #2: Seeds 14, 11, 6, 3 Heat #3: Seeds 15, 10, 7, 2 Heat #3: Seeds 16, 9, 8, 1 8 competitors: Heat #1: Seeds 7, 6, 3, 2 Heat #2: Seeds 8, 5, 4, 1 Other numbers of competitors are determined with the same format 2018 CANADIAN WAKE CHAMPIONSHIPS COURSE GUIDELINES Expression: The course will begin as soon as you leave the dock Riders will complete a full lap of the cable and exit after their first run. Riders will have a total of two runs, 0 pick ups. Judges will take the best of the two runs for their final score. Riders must check in with dock starter the heat before their own, and have all equipment ready All safety gear must be worn, life vest and helmets All riders must wear a bib Riders will have 5 minutes if there is an equipment failure If the athlete has an equipment failure, raise your hand, and do not execute any more tricks in your pass Features Only: There will be 3 to 5 riders on the cable at one time. Each heat will have 10 minutes total. The time will start once the last rider has left the dock. A horn will sound when that rider leaves. Riders will be judged on their best Trick ONLY on each of the allocated features There will be one judge on each of the allocated features that will only be judging that feature. There is no overall impression for features only. Overall score will be based on your placing on each of the designated features, based on their weight.

Safety boat to respond to victim b. Safety personal to administer appropriate care 2) Event Manager & administrative staff to place all on water events on hold until victim has been removed from water and situation has been stabilized 3) Event Manager & administrative Staff to contact local hospital and arrange transportation 4) Safety personal to prepare victim for transportation 5) Event Manager & administrative staff to notify victim s family member of incident 6) Safety personal to provide details to administrative staff to complete an incident report. 7) Administrative staff to follow up with injured person Major injury requiring full medical attention: (major injury, large cut, broken limb with open wound) 1) On site safety personal to assess and respond to the situation. a. Safety boat to respond to victim b. Safety personal to administer appropriate care and prepare to move victim to appointed extraction point 2) Event Manager & Administrative staff to contact local emergency services 911 3) Safety personal to prep victim for transportation for ambulance. 4) Event Manager & administrative staff to place all on water events on hold until victim has been removed from water and situation has been stabilized 5) E vent Manager & administrative Staff to contact local hospital 6) Event Manager & administrative staff to notify victim s family member of incident 7) Safety personal to provide details to administrative staff to complete an incident report. 8) Administrative staff to follow up with victim
