Congratulations to all the Alex Mal Club members who surfed so well, and we ended up winning the C Division winning the B division and coming 2nd in the A division and there was not a lot of points difference in all the finals. Well done to Caloundra Mal Club for hosting a classic event in a perfect time of year. If you haven t seen the video of The Winter Classic it is loaded on our club website and also on Pacific Longboarder Magazine news wire Thanks to John Brasen editor of the mag for putting it up and there is talk of a story in the next issue of the mag using the fantastic pics we have of the event. Special thanks to Cory White who spent 3 days filming the event and putting together an awesome video and great feedback from all our sponsors and everyone who has seen it. Sunshine Coast Old Mal Club had its 15th year anniversary D FIN and Vee Bottom fun comp with some amazing d fin action going done in baby bluff conditions. 2 loggers getting tubed on the set of the morning and George the kneeboarder in the vee bottom division as his board was to loose to stand up on hahaha Entries are filling up for Old Mal Rally and Qld Old Mal Titles with special D Fin Division to be held on Sat 11th August 6.30 am at The Bluff so be there or be square as this will have the hottest line-up of competitors see attached entry form. Keep your fins wet. Cheers Kevi The Directors Cut G day longboarders and welcome to julys edition of the mal mail. We are well into winter now and the local surf conditions lately have been some classic days with offshore winds and some nice clean peelers on offer around our beaches. Unfortuneatly huey has been a bit confused at time tossing up a mixed bag of wind and rain and not a lot of consistent swell so far this winter. I ve sent huey an explaining how us surfers would love to have some consistent long range groundswell out of the south east with a two knot south westerly and clear blue skies 5ft and pumping for the next two months. Not much to ask is it? come on huey, wakey wakey. Anyway fingers crossed we get some swell for our up and coming comps. The old mal rally is coming up very soon so get your entries in or you will miss out. We also have the Jack Boast junoir comp and a four way challenge all not to far away. Our last club comp was a cracker of a day with good conditions and a surprising increase in swell overnight. It was a fun day had by all with some clean 2 to 3ft sets rolling through all day. The fun in the sun comp was held recently at Ann St in good but testing conditions. A freat fun weekend was had by all in and out of the water. A big thanks to the Caloundra Mal Club for putting on yet another awesome event. Also a big thankyou to our club members who competed in the event, well done guys, great effort and we came with some great results. Our A team came second in the finals while we took out the B and C finals as well. Flash s team surfed really well just missing out on the C final. Well done all, great effort. Ok guys it s the club comp next week so see you all there. Drew From the Treasurers Hi mal club members I hope you are all well. The club s finances are looking good after the Winter Classic in June. Profits were slightly down on the previous year but that was due being held down the beach instead of at the Bluff with lots more passing traffic. All in all, the comp was a great success. The Old Mal Rally is next on the agenda and I am stoked that Jason De King and Paul Fleming have the online payment system up and running. You can now enter and pay through the website which will make life a lot easier for Cath and I. Apart from that there's not much more to report.
