4 Event Rules Primary School: Eligible Schools; - Balbardie, Boghall, Simpsons, St. Columbus, St. Mary s, Windyknowe. Open to all pupils from eligible Primary schools in the Bathgate Area. Each school team can only enter one team. Team will contain 4 girls & 4 boys. No entry time required. Each swimmer can only swim a maximum of two individual events. Each school can only enter a maximum of two swimmers in each event. Points are awarded based on finish time not heat place (12points 1 st Place 1 point 12 th place). All swimmers compete in both relays. Awards.(School teams only) Trophy for best Primary School team Points from all individual swims. Medals to 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd team members (inc Guest Team). Trophy for best Primary School Relay team all points for the four relay events. Guest Team - Bathgate ASC Members of Bathgate ASC who were not selected for their school team or who attend primary schools outside Bathgate. Guest team is not eligible for team trophies. Lane vacated by St. Columbus Primary who are unable to field a team. Boghall Primary Unable to field a full boy s team - BASC guest swimmers will fill empty slots in some boy s events. Guest swimmers in the Boghall Primary team will swim time only, points not awarded. Secondary School Open to residents of Bathgate and members of Bathgate ASC only. Entrants must be aged Swimmers can select up to three individual events. Estimated entry time required for grading purposes. Heats are mixed sex and age group events which will be graded based on entry time. Points awarded based on finish time and age group not heat placing. Awards for Top Girl & Boy in the following age groups S1&2. S3&4, S5&6 Information for Spectators Thank you for attending tonight s event. The event is jointly organised by the Bathgate Procession Committee and Bathgate ASC. The organising committee would like to thank all who have helped in the organisation and running of the event. We would also like to thank Specmakers for their kind sponsorship of the event and WLL for providing the pool free. There will be a safety announcement prior to the start of the event please listen carefully to the announcement. Please remember to be silent for the start of each race so the swimmers and timekeepers can here the starting gun. We encourage all to cheer on loudly and encourage all the swimmers after the race starts. There is no photography or the taking of video images allowed at this event. The use of mobile phones is also prohibited in the building. Please switch of your mobile for the duration of the night.

5 Bathgate Amateur Swimming Club B.A.S.C. BASC was founded in 1935 for the development of local swimmers and to introduce competitive swimming to the local community. The club has flourished and developed through the years and continues to be one of the most successful clubs in West Lothian. At present we have in excess of 120 swimmers. We moved to our new home at Balbardie Park Sports Centre Bathgate when the new pool opened in Easter We are a swimark accredited club run by a dedicated team of volunteers made up of committed coaches, teachers, poolside helpers, technical officials, committee members and fundraisers. Swimmers can join the club from as young as 5 years old, however we encourage new swimmers of all ages and abilities from learners to top class competitive swimmers. We have the infrastructure in place to cater for all swimming levels and abilities. The club is a founder member and partner of the Swim West Lothian Competitive Swimming Pathway, BASC swimmers enter the SWL program directly from the club s Top Development squad. Trials are arranged on a regular basis where new starts are assessed and placed in an appropriate squad.
