All events will be seeded by time: morning sessions 13 and over, afternoon sessions 12 and under. Results will be divided by age and gender for the purpose of scoring and awards. Dash for Cash finals are not included in team scoring. 4x100 Free Relay will be swum during Dash-for-Cash finals. You may only enter 1 team for this event. Cash awards for Dash for Cash Finals Eligibility/Time Standard: Swimmer s Age: Scratches: Fees: Limit: Meet Rules: This meet is restricted to swimmers registered with Swim Ontario as Competitive swimmers. There is no time standard for this meet. As of Friday, October 19, 2012 the first day of the competition Coaches will be asked to complete a scratch form 30 minutes prior to the start of each session. Swimmers may scratch from preliminary events without penalty. Swimmers may scratch without penalty from Dash for Cash Finals within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the morning session. Swimmers who fail to scratch in accordance to this rule or who otherwise fail to swim an event will be scratched from all remaining events scheduled for the session. $8.00 per individual swim $12.00 per relay Please make cheques payable to There is no limit on individual entries however; there will be a maximum of 8 individual events that will be scored towards the Age Group High Points award. Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Current SNC rules will apply in addition to the following: 1. Meet management reserves the right to adjust session times. 2. Meet Management reserves the right to swim the 800 m and 1500m two per lane if entries require it. 3. Meet Management reserves the right to limit the number of entries to all events 400m and longer. Any swimmer declined entry to a 400m or longer event will be offered entry to an alternative event. 4. Each team will be limited to one 4X100 Free Relay Team entry in each of 13/14 girls, 13/14 boys, 15 and over girls, 15 and over boys. 5. The FINA one-start rule will be in effect. 6. The FINA swimwear ruling will be in effect. 7. The meet will be operated without entry cards and with limited marshalling. Swimmers are responsible for presenting themselves at the starting end of the pool immediately prior to their heat. 8. Meet Officials will provide a safe environment and an organized competition. 9. We are not responsible for the supervision of the athletes during the competition and especially, during session breaks. 5

6 Other Rules and Information: Entries: 1. Meet management will hold a Coaches meeting on the evening of Friday October 21 at 3:45 pm. Meeting location will be posted at the entrance of the Athletic Complex. 2. No food or drink is allowed on deck in the swimmers area. 3. Meet Management acknowledged the SO policy with banning the future use of split times as official times and requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Referee prior to the commencement of the session (or event) in question. In such a case, Meet Management and the Referee will undertake all appropriate steps as prescribed by their training to assure the quality and integrity of interval times. Any time collected according to this request will subsequently be recorded in a separate event of the appropriate distance and stroke created for such a purpose." 4. Where, due to facility or time limitations, swimming separated by gender would not permit all swims to be completed while offering reasonable opportunities to swim for all participants, and in particular on an equitable basis for swimmers of each gender. In spite of this rule, any swimmer who achieves a record time at any level (club, regional, provincial, national, etc, whether age-group or open) will not be recognized for that record unless the coach has advised the referee prior to the start of the session in which the is to be contested that there is a possibility of the record being broken, and the referee ensures that the swimmer competes with competitors of the same gender for his/her heat. In the event that mixed gender swims are permitted pursuant to this policy, the results must still be posted separately by the gender of swimmers. 9 PRO-TECH POOL & SPA CHALLENGE DASH FOR CASH 2012 Dash for cash is a separate swim meet for swimmers 13 and over and results will not be scored. Events: Dash for Cash will run for the following events: 50m fly, 50m back, 50m breast, 50m free and 400m Free Relay. There will be separate finals for 13/14 and 15 and over females and 13/14 and 15 and over males. Cash awards: Cash prizes will be awarded as follows: 50 m events: $30.00 for 1 st, $15.00 for 2 nd for each age groups. 400m free relays 1 st place relay will receive $ Prize money will be paid to each club for distribution to their swimmers. 9

10 SWIMMING/NATATION CANADA RISK MANAGEMENT / WARM-UP PROCEDURES 2009 During the designated warm-up period, the meet management committee shall be responsible for ensuring that all Risk Management/Warm-up procedures are followed. It is incumbent on all participants, i.e. meet management, coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures. Non-compliance with these procedures will result in a warning or removal of the swimmer from the warm-up pool, and possible further reporting to meet management and the Referee for action under rule SW Meet management shall designate Safety Marshals to actively monitor the warm-up period in the competition pool and ensure compliance with these procedures. Safety Marshals should be notified of any disabled swimmers who are participating in warm-ups. Additional practice pools, if any, are to be supervised by lifeguards and coaches. Safety Marshals shall be responsible to the Referee for all aspects of safety related to conduct during the warm-up period and shall ensure that all appropriate warm-up procedures are followed. (CSW ) GENERAL WARM-UP RULES: Swimmers shall enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner. No Running on the pool deck or Diving from the side of the pool. Meet Management shall provide signage to indicate designated lane use during warm-up. Notices/barriers shall be placed on starting blocks to prevent diving during the general warm-up. Diving Starts are only permitted in designated Sprint Lanes during the warm-up period. Lanes shall be open primarily for Circle Swimming during the General warm-up period. Coaches and swimmers shall allow Backstrokers & PARA swimmers the right of way for safety purposes. Meet Management may designate a Sprint Lane(s) and/or a Pace Lane(s) throughout the general warmup period. SPECIFIC/SPRINT WARM-UP PERIOD: Sprint and Pace lanes must be opened for at least the last 30 minutes of warm-ups or as designated by meet management. Outside Lanes should be designated as Sprint Lanes. Only one-way swimming shall be permitted in Sprint Lanes. Sprint Lanes, Pace Lanes, and Circle Swimming lanes shall be clearly marked with signage. The following statement shall appear in the meet information and in posted notices: "SNC WARM UP PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET". EQUIPMENT: FLUTTER BOARDS and PULLBUOYS are allowed.
