Spectator seating is available outside the pool and above pool deck. All swimmers will swim together regardless of age or sex. This meet is open to all competitive level swimmers within the Huronia Region who are registered with Swim Ontario. The meet has a no time standard but meet management requests that all swimmers be entered with their best available entry time to allow for proper seeding. All entries times will be converted to short course times, using the default conversion factors in Hy-Tek Meet Manager and then seeded accordingly 2

3 Awards: Meet Rules: Heat Winner ribbons will be presented to swimmers who win their heat. Personal Best ribbons will be presented to all swimmers who obtain an event personal best time. SNC rules apply. SNC WARM UP PROCEDURE WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET. NOTE: No session will be longer than 4 ½ hours. Entries: Swimmers are encouraged to enter the maximum of FOUR individual events and one relay. Swimmers entered in the distance events must have completed the event at least once in a practice situation. It is left up to the coach s discretion as to whether that swimmer is ready to try it in a meet situation. Entry Deadline: April 29 th, 2015 Entries must be in Hy-Tek format and submitted via No entries will be accepted by meet management. Entry fees must be paid the day of the meet. Entry Fees: Scratch Rules: $25 per visiting Huronia club swimmer, $15 per hosting Huronia club swimmer (payable to Huronia Region Swimming Association). Cheques are due the day of the meet. Any errors to the meet entries must go to the Clerk of Course. Please have all scratches to the Clerk of Course within 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet. Swimmers will be automatically scratched after the final call for the event and will not be penalized. 3

4 Coaches Information: Please have the relay cards into the Clerk of Course within 30 minutes after the warm-ups have begun. Coaches are responsible for their swimmers conduct at all times before/during/after the meet. Deck entries will be permitted as long as long as proof of SNC registration is provided. Results will be posted on the SNC website SWIMMERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EAT WHILE ON DECK. THIS IS STRICTLY ENFORCED BY MEET MANAGEMENT, LIFEGUARDS AND FACILTIES PERSONNEL. SWIMMERS MUST GO OFF DECK TO EAT. 5 SWIMSUIT RULES: MATERIAL The material of swimwear will definitively be constituted only by textile fabric(s). The FINA definition of textile currently is: Material consisting of, natural and/or synthetic, individual and non-consolidated yarns used to constitute a fabric by weaving, knitting, and/or braiding. SHAPE MEN swimwear shall not extend above the navel or below the knee. WOMEN swimwear shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below knee. No zippers or other fastening system is allowed. Swim Ontario policy on Split Times Meet Management acknowledged the SO policy with banning the future use of split times as official times and requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Referee prior to the commencement of the session (or event) in question. In such a case, Meet Management and the Referee will undertake all appropriate steps as prescribed by their training to assure the quality and integrity of interval times. Any time collected according to this request will subsequently be recorded in a separate event of the appropriate distance and stroke created for such a purpose." Swimming/Natation Canada Rule SW 10.1 Item 5 "where, due to facility or time limitations, swimming separated by gender would not permit all swims to be completed while offering reasonable opportunities to swim for all participants, and in particular on an equitable basis for swimmers of each gender. In spite of this rule, any swimmer who achieves a record time at any level (club, regional, provincial, national, etc, whether age-group or open) will not be recognized for that record unless the coach has advised the referee prior to the start of the session in which the is to be contested that there is a possibility of the record being broken, and the referee ensures that the swimmer competes with competitors of the same gender for his/her heat. In the event that mixed gender swims are permitted pursuant to this policy, the results still be posted separately by the gender of swimmers. 5

6 SWIMMING CANADA COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals. GENERAL WARM-UP: Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position. Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited. Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage. Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes. Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted. Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up. EQUIPMENT: Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time. Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use. Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time. VIOLATIONS: Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be removed without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred. In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed. SAFETY MARSHALS: The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall: Be visible by safety vest Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled. Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods. Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee. PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION: Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach s discretion. The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices: SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET. 6

If you don t already have a user id and password, click on Register Now! and follow the process. Note that your account will need to be approved by your Club Officials Chairperson before you can complete your sign-up to officiate at this meet. 2. Once you ve signed in, mouse over the heading called Meets and a drop down box will appear. Click on the heading Register for Meet. 3. Select Huronia from the Region drop-down box. 4. Find the entry for the 2015 HRSA Development Meet #3 (EAST) in the list of meets, then click on Select a Session for this meet. 5. Click on Register beside the session you would like to work, and then type in your requested position or special requests in the provided text box. 6. Click on Register at the bottom of this page to complete your entry.
