1 Loveland Sweetheart Meet DATE: February 20 22, 2015 HOSTED BY: Loveland Swim Club SANCTION: Held under the sanction of USA Swimming # and #2015-Pending (Time Trials). In granting this sanction, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims or damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. LOCATION: Mountain View Aquatic Center Dick Hewson AC (Thompson Valley HS) 3560 Mountain Lion Drive 1669 Eagle Drive Loveland, CO Loveland, CO, Directions to MVAC : Take I-25 to Exit 257, Loveland exit. Proceed west on US-34 for 1.4 miles. Turn left (south) on Boyd Lake Drive and then right (west) on Mountain Lion Drive. Turn left into the Mountain View High School parking lot. The swimming facility is located at the south end of the parking lot. Directions to DHAC: Take I-25 to Exit 257, Loveland exit. Proceed west on US-34 to Taft rd. Turn Right on Carlisle. Turn Right on Eagle Drive. Turn right into Thompson Valley Parking Lot. The swimming facility is located at the south east part of the School. FACILITIES: MVAC: Indoor, 25 yard pool with eight deep water lanes. The water depth measured for a distance of 3 feet 3½ inches (1.0 meter) to 16 feet 5 inches (5.0 meters) is 5 feet at the turn end is 8 feet at the start end. Additional warm-up and warm-down lanes are available. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C (4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. DHAC: Indoor, 25 yard pool with six lanes. The water depth measured for a distance of 3 feet 3½ inches (1.0 meter) to 16 feet 5 inches (5.0 meters) is 3.5 feet at the turn end is 5 feet at the start end. Additional warm-up and warm-down lanes are available. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C (4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. TIMING: Colorado Timing System with touch-pads and full matrix LED display. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all swimmers holding a 2015 USA Swimming membership card. Any swimmer that appears on the Colorado Swimming (CSI) exceptions report without registration must come to the meet prepared to show their card, or they will be deck registered before they can enter the water. The deck registration fee will include a surcharge plus the current registration fee. Age group will be determined by the swimmer s age on February 20, All deck entries must present proof of current registration. ENTRY FEES: Make one check payable to Loveland Swim Club $4.50 For each Individual event. ($.75 of each individual event goes to the CSI Support Fund) $6.00 per swimmer facility charge

2 AWARDS: All 12 & under and 10 & under individual events will be awarded in two categories. 1. Category one is swimmers entered at or faster than the State Qualifying time in the event. 2. Category two is swimmers entered slower than the State Qualifying time in the event. Each category will be awarded medals places 1-3 and ribbons places 4-8 for individual events. Swimmers can get their awards after results for individual events are announced. There are no high point awards in these age groups. Swimmers entered in 8 & Under events are awarded medals for places 1-3 and ribbons for places Swimmers and Senior (13 and Over) will not receive individual event awards but will instead receive High Points Awards. We will have special high point awards to the top 5 Scoring swimmers in each age group and Senior. Points are tracked in the age group in which the event was swum. SCORING: Individual events: ENTRIES: Swimmers may enter up to 4 Events per Day plus 1 Time Trial We will let teams know prior to the meet if positive check-in will be needed for any events. Coaches, the longer events are offered for swimmers with experience (200 s of stroke for 12 & Under, 400 s and longer events for all age groups). Do not enter a swimmer in an event of 200 yards or longer unless they have a B time standard minimum in the shorter event. This meet may be pre-seeded for all Saturday and Sunday Sessions, except for races 200 yards and longer which may require positive check-in. If positive check-in is required for those events, swimmers must check in to be seeded. Failure to check in may result in not being allowed to swim if there are no empty lanes. Check in and additional entries will close at announced time before the start of the session. Distance events (400 yards and longer) may be seeded alternating girls and boys heats, fastest to slowest. Distance events may be combined (scored separately) to reduce the number of heats. Swimmers must bring their own volunteer counter and timer for distance events. All 12&U Sessions are planned to fit within four hours and all sessions may be limited for a reasonable meet length. Teams will be notified in advance of any changes. If Positive check-in is required for any events, a swimmer must check in to be seeded. Failure to check in may result in not being allowed to swim if there are no empty lanes. Check-in and additional entries will close as announced during warm-up for that session. Swimmers must bring their own volunteer counter and timer for the distance events. The Distance events may be seeded alternating girls and boys heats, fastest to slowest. Events may be combined (scored separately) to reduce the number of heats. The 1650 may be limited to the top 16 boys and girls. Teams will be notified in advance of any changes.

3 ENTRY PROCEDURES: Computer entries, prepared using Hy-Tek software. THIS IS THE ENTRY METHOD OF PREFERENCE. This must be ed. Your team is responsible for the accuracy of the electronic entries. A team manager events file will be on the Loveland Swim Club web site, prior to the meet to assist teams with the entry process. Hard copy of your Hy-Tek Data including entries listed by name and Hy-Tek Fees report. This is due with team check by the entry due date. Teams must enter on HY-TEK or pay a $25 fee. A psych sheet will be posted on the Loveland Swim Club web site prior to the meet to help correct any entry errors. Teams will be given time to send in corrections. A final psych sheet will be posted prior to the meet. Teams will be notified in advance on updated warm-up and start times for all sessions based on final team entries. ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries must be received by our entry chairman by Friday, February 06, Entries received after the entry deadline will be processed as deck entries. All mail will be prioritized by date and time received. Do not send entries that require a signature. Entries will be limited for a planned four hour session for the 12 & Under swimmers and a reasonable meet length. All entries received after entry deadline may be accepted at the discretion of the Meet Director or Meet Referee at $10.00 per event plus Pool Surcharge. The Meet Referee will have the final authority on all matters related to the meet. Colorado Swimming, Inc. procedures for warm-up will be observed. Warm-up Assignments and updated session times will be posted at prior to the meet. At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member-coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee may assist the swimmer in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to make such arrangements prior to the start of the meet.

4 The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. No on deck photography from behind the starting platforms. The pool deck is reserved for athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Positive sportsman-like conduct will be expected. Coaches and parents will be responsible for the behavior and safety of swimmers and families. Any damage to the pool property will be grounds for dismissal from the remainder of the meet and the offenders will be held liable. LAST CHANCE ENTRIES/TIME TRIALS: Details will be available on deck from Meet Director Jon Scott for last chance entries for Silver State and Senior State. Only events not previously qualified for Silver State and Senior State meets will be accepted. Checks for last chance entries must be written to Loveland Swim Club - we will mail one check to CSI. Last chance entries must be submitted to Jon Scott by the start of the 1650 Free on Sunday including payment and must be completed at the meet. Time Trials start immediately after each Sunday Session. Time Trial Entries are due before the final 2 events of each Sunday session. Time Trials are limited to 1 total for the meet. COACHES / OFFICIALS: Only currently certified registered coaches, working officials, and volunteers will be allowed on deck. All coaches and uniformed officials MUST display their USA Swimming cards when on deck. PROGRAMS: $5.00 each. Coach s copies are complementary. Families who purchase a meet program on Friday or Saturday will be able to receive a heat sheet for Sunday s positive check-in sessions by turning in the front cover of their program. Results will be posted as a Hy-Tek file on the Loveland Swim Club web site, CONCESSIONS: A healthy selection of food and drink will be available at the concession stand. Colorado Swimming, Inc. does not support, recommend, endorse or take responsibility for the sale or marketing of any dietary supplements. It is the swimmers responsibility to know the contents of any food or drink he/she ingests. For more specific information on supplements please refer to the drug information on the USA Swimming website at Session warm-up and start times are approximate final times will be posted on website prior to the meet. Sessions begin warm-up within 10 minutes of the conclusion of the previous Sessions.
