2 PROSPECTUS 1. Authority: The 1 st Australasian Open Veterans Table Tennis Championships will be organised by Table Tennis Australia 2. Host: Table Tennis Australia ryan@tabletennis.org.au 3. Dates of Event: 29 th June to 1 st July 2017 Practice/Opening Ceremony 28 th June Venue: Gold Coast Table Tennis Association Lot 1 Herbertson Drive, Molendinar Phone: Reference The Championships will be conducted in accordance with TTA Regulations and the current ITTF Laws and Regulations of Table Tennis. 9. Registration All Australian players are required to be registered in the highest category of their State Membership. Other competitors must be registered members of an association affiliated with ITTF. 10. Events Team: Team Events will be held for both male and female players in the following age categories; Over Over Over Over Entries Team: ALL players must enter using the separate Team entry form available from the official website or from their State Association.

3 12. System of Play: TEAMS: The first round of all Team events will be played in a 4-Team round robin basis with the top 2 teams of each group progressing to the knockout stage of the event. All matches will be best of 5 games. 13. Format of Play: FORMAT Play will be 5 matches, 4 singles and 1 doubles in the following order: Singles: A Y B Z Doubles Singles B Y A Z Matches can be played to a result, or, played out if desired. 14. Disqualification Any player failing to appear when scheduled to play is liable to disqualification by the Referee. 15. Matches Each match will be controlled by an umpire whose decision shall be final on any point of fact. The Referee s decision shall be final on any interpretation of the Laws and Regulations. 16. Restrictions Each team may enter a maximum of three (3) players only in Team events. 17. Risk Players participate at their own risk. No injury claims will be recognized. Players with pre-existing medical conditions should make the organising committee aware of this. Please attach a note detailing the nature of the medical condition and the medication required, as necessary. All medical information will be treated with the strictest confidence and will be destroyed after the championships. 18. Tentative schedule 28 th June Practice/Opening Ceremony, Photos, Managers Meeting 29 th June to 1 st July for Competition. A detailed schedule will be provided closer to the event. 19. Managers Meeting: A Management Committee will be appointed and carry out functions in terms of TTA regulations. One of these functions is to consider any appeals against rulings of the host organisation or the referee on a question of match or tournament conduct not covered in the Laws or Regulations. A Managers Meeting will be scheduled for 28 th June 2017 at the Venue starting at TBA. All Managers must attend. 20. Draws: Draw to be done as soon as practical after the closing date and published on the official website. Advice will be forwarded to all states and managers after publication.

4 21. Equipment: Tables: ITTF approved Tables and ITTF approved nets Balls: DHS Premium 40mm Plastic White Floor: ITTF approved non-slip PVC flooring Red Taraflex 22. Trophies: Medallions will be presented as follows: - Winner - GOLD Runner up - SILVER Semi-Finalists - BRONZE 23. Prize Money Prize money will be offered to each team in each age division as follows; Winner $500 Runner-Up $250 Semi-Finalists $ Accommodation: Play is scheduled to start at 9am daily so travel time to the venue will need to be taken into consideration. Weather Info: The temperature in Gold Coast in June/July will be mild 26. Changes: Changes in players entries will be accepted until the draw is done then after that all changes will have to be approved at the Managers Meeting at the beginning of the championships. 27. Field of Play Food & drinks are not permitted in the playing areas; smoking is not permitted anywhere in the playing venue. 28. Racket Control: ITTF rules regarding rackets and racket coverings will be enforced. No gluing No gluing or re-gluing of rackets is permitted in the playing venue. The ITTF Equipment Committee strongly recommends all players to make

5 29. Entry Fee: An entry fee of $60 per person per event shall be payable when entering. To pay this entry fee go to: Players entering the tournament will be offered a discounted tournament pass to attend the ITTF World Tour Platinum Series Australian Open to be held from the 2 nd July 7 th July. 30. Clothing: ITTF and TTA Clothing regulations will be enforced. The main colour of a shirt or shorts, other than sleeves and collar of a shirts shall be clearly different from that of the ball in use. Players should be neatly dressed, and not wear any clothing that might cause offence or bring the game into disrepute. Opposing players and pairs shall wear shirts that are sufficiently different colours to enable them to be easily distinguished by spectators. 31. Betting: In the context of betting, participants shall not, by any manner whatsoever, infringe the principal of fair play, show unsporting conduct or attempt to influence the course or result of a competition or any part thereof in a manner contrary to sporting ethics. Any violation of this principal shall be disciplined according to provisions of ITTF regulations (VC s) for gluing or regluing rackets. This includes glues with organic and playe are not to use glues containing harmful volatile compounds, inorganic volatile compounds excluding water. 32. Deadlines: Final Entry Form: 1 st June 2017
