Additionally, they can be heard on the air through Sportstalk 1400 AM in Norman. LAST TIME OUT u The Sooners earned their first conference road win of the season on Oct. 3, taking down 3-1 in Ames, Iowa. After the Cyclones won the first set 25-16, Oklahoma responded with 26-24, and victories in the next three frames. u Senior outside hitter Alyssa Enneking and sophomore setter Kylee McLaughlin both earned doubledoubles in the match. Enneking registered her third straight double-double with a team-high 10 kills to go with 13 digs, and McLaughlin led the team with 37 assists and added 21 digs. u The Sooners out-blocked the Cyclones , paced by middle blockers Paige Anderson and Brianna Kadiku and outside hitter Sarah Sanders. Anderson and Kadiku both tallied seven block assists while Sanders had one solo block and six assists. ENNEKING JOINS 1,000-KILL CLUB u With her 10th kill against on Sept. 26, senior outside hitter Alyssa Enneking became the 14th player in OU history to reach 1,000 career kills. Overall, the League City,, native finished the contest with a match-high 23 kills and added 19 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. u Enneking has set program records for kills twice this season. In the season opener against Xavier, she matched her own school record with 19 kills in a three-set match. Fourteen blocks in one match are tied for the second-most by a single player in Division I volleyball this year. u Anderson is the just fifth Big 12 player since 2011 to record at least 14 blocks in a match and the first to do so since Oct. 1, 2016 (Natalie Gower, ). Additionally, Anderson s 14-block performance matched the program record for blocks in a five-set match, previously set by Sallie McLaurin on Aug. 25, 2012, against Tulsa. u Additionally, with 11 block assists in OU s loss to then-no. 14 Pittsburgh, Anderson set a program record for block assists in a four-set match. NEW ERA OF OUVB u A new era of Sooner Volleyball began this season as Lindsey Gray-Walton embarks on her first season as Oklahoma s head coach. The 2017 AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year, Gray-Walton came to OU after spending the past eight seasons at Kentucky. NEW FACES, IMMEDIATE IMPACT u Seven of the 16 members of OU s roster are wearing the Crimson and Cream for the first time this season. The Sooners welcomed four transfers this season in Brianna Kadiku (middle blocker, Memphis), Keyton Kinley (defensive specialist, Tennessee), Kylee McLaughlin (setter, Oregon State) and Haley Sanchez (defensive specialist, Bakersfield College). Additionally, OU signed three freshmen for the 2018 campaign: defensive specialist Aysia Harty (McKinney, ) and outside hitters Sabrina Simms (Argyle, ) and Olga Zampati (Athens, Greece). u Kadiku, Kinley and McLaughlin have started in all 17 of OU s matches so far in Harty has played in each of the Sooners 65 sets, earning her first start against Pittsburgh and another at. u Kadiku ranks second on the team with.88 blocks per set and third with 1.94 kills per set. Kinley has served as OU s libero in each contest in 2018, leading the Sooners with 4.60 digs per set, ranking second in the Big 12. Additionally, Kinley s 5.58 digs per set in conference play lead the Big 12. The Sooners starting setter, McLaughlin is averaging a team-best assists per set and ranks second in the conference with 682 total assists. TEXAS TECH, TEXAS 3 OKLAHOMA HEAD COACH LINDSEY GRAY-WALTON Lindsey Gray-Walton was named head coach of the Sooners volleyball program on December 24, Gray-Walton spent the last eight seasons on Craig Skinner s staff at Kentucky as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator and was named the 2017 AVCA National Assistant Coach of the Year. All seven of Gray-Walton s recruiting classes at Kentucky have ranked in the top 25 in the nation, according to PrepVolleyball. Gray-Walton helped Kentucky to eight postseason appearances. From , the Wildcats went and posted a program-best 29-3 mark in 2017 during that stretch. Working with Kentucky s back row passers and outside hitters, Gray-Walton oversaw the development of three-time SEC Libero of the Year Ashley Dusek, and helped individual Wildcats earn 20 AVCA All-America honors. Her 4.30 average in league matches ranked second and she averaged 4.36 against ranked opponents and 4.32 in 12 matches against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. u McLaughlin enters her first season in the Big 12 after transferring from Oregon State in January.
