I would like to congratulate the teams for reaching today s finals. I m sure we ll see some entertaining games of football played by four very good footballing sides. I would like to thank all at Chelmsley Town FC for staging today s cup finals. The League starting with just six clubs in 1969, has now due to its popularity grown to over 700 teams, ranging from Under-7 up to Under-18 teams. CWYFL matches are played with our full commitment to adhere to the FA s RESPECT campaign. Although football is essentially about developing players for the member clubs, the league has produced a number of professional and International players over the years. No matter what the outcome of today s finals are, I hope everyone here today has a wonderful time. 4 Arden forest was formed in 1981 and has been involved in the social development of young boys and girls through organised football for over 30 years. Arden forest is a non profit making football club always looking to plough back into the club all monies raised. It is to our credit that we still currently charge the same amount of weekly subscriptions that we charged over 20 years ago. Arden Forest Football Club originally started with 9 teams from under 8's to under 16's and such has been the growth of the club that it started this season with 13 teams and are looking to start next season with 17 teams. Arden Forest are moving forwards and looking to be accredited with charter standard with the FA for the forthcoming season 2014/2015 John Jacob - Chairman -Arden Forest FC This is our first year in the Central Warwickshire League and our first season together as a team. After taking over a struggling side in March 2013, eleven new players were brought in to strengthen the squad. We are now enjoying a good season and to reach a Cup Final is an added bonus. Cup Run Bromsgrove Blades Won Austin Social Won Meriden Rovers Won Arden Forest Won 1 0 At the time of writing we are still in a strong position to win the League. I would like to thank Jason and Mike for all their help this season and a big thank you goes to all our parents who turn up in all weathers every week to support the boys. Kind regards Nigel Homer Manager Sutton Town U14 s
5 Sutton Coldfield Town Juniors is a local football club which was formed in 1970 and over the years the club has grown in size, having started with only just 5 teams. The Club initially played their games in the old Birmingham league, but during the last 15 years the teams have entered into the Lichfield and Central Warwickshire s leagues. Our home ground was Lindridge Road for some 30 years, on a ½ hectare site, which we could only accommodate 2 full size pitches, therefore our small sided games were played over the road at a Junior School. In 2013 we relocated to Bishop Walsh School which meant that all our teams could play out of one location. We also have plans to create more pitches for this coming season. We have children who come from Erdington, Kingstanding, Wylde Green, Walmley and Sutton Coldfield who play for us on a weekend. The club has a family feel to it with many boys and girls who have had older brothers and even Dads that have played for us over the years.the club likes to offer the children the opportunity to play and enjoy football in a safe and structured way where they will learn the skills of the game but also how to integrate with others and enjoy themselves at the same time. Sutton Coldfield Town Juniors run teams from Under 6s through to under 16s at present. We also have a lot of contacts with some of the non-league local clubs where we can offer opportunities for the older children to progress into youth football. As of September this year we will be starting 1 or 2 Girls teams and the club already run a soccer school for the under 6s. This coming season we have made the decision to fully enter all teams into the Central Warwickshire league, and with 1 girl team, we will be fielding 20 teams from u7s to u16s. Like most clubs we could not operate without the large number of volunteers who give a lot of their spare time to helping and running teams, coaching and assisting out at the ground on a weekend. Sutton have around 40 volunteers who give us their time on a weekly basis. We started out in this competition back in September with the belief we can win it, and we're at the final hurdle. It's important the players enjoy themselves and play the game in the right manner. Win or lose, they can leave the pitch knowing they have given there best. A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever. Lee Foley Vice President Arden Forest FC
6 Although Northfield Town FC. came into being in 1966, its origins go back to the early 1950s. After spells in the Kings Norton League, Warwickshire & West Midlands Alliance and the Mercian League, they joined the Combination in 1957 (then the Worcestershire Combination). Playing under the name of Allen s Cross they won the League Challenge Cup in their first year and the League Championship in Following amalgamation with another successful local side, Castle Rovers, the club played briefly as Cross Castle United before adopting the present title of Northfield Town.Northfield Town Juniors FC Originally played under the name of Shenley Radford Youth FC. Shenley Radford Youth Club began to use the facilities at Shenley Lane Community Association & Sports Centre back in 1971 on Wednesday evenings. It was about a year later in 1972 when Radford Rovers FC a local team then amalgamated with Shenley Radford Youth Club to form a football team and competed in the Central Warwickshire League. Then In 2013 Shenley Radford Youth F.C amalgamated with Northfield Town FC to create Northfield Town Juniors FC. Then In 2013 Shenley Radford Youth F.C amalgamated with Northfield Town FC to create Northfield Town Juniors FC. Our team was formed in 2006 by Elroy Andrews, Dave Boucher and myself. In the 8 years since this is the first final the team has reached. In fact after many barren years this is by far our best season, becoming division 3w Champions, winning every game, and reaching the cup Final. This is due to a great effort, hard work and determination from all players involved and our coach Joe Awome. Finally a big thank you to all parents and supporters for your support and commitment throughout the season and i hope you enjoy the final! Well done boys.
7 Maypole FC was formed in 1975 as Maypole Juniors FC. Initially Maypole was ran from the Maypole Youth Centre, Idminston Croft, where we was able to start providing Association football for boys of all ages. We joined the Central Warwickshire League initially with just 3 teams with our home games played at Silver Street in Wythall whilst training took place at Daisy Farm Park. Like today, our funding came mainly from players subscriptions, grants and fund raising events. In 1978 we formed an open age team with the players that had came through from the previous 3 years. The team over the years proved very successful progressing from Division 7 to the Premier league. In 1980, to create a standard 'kit uniform' we introduced a red & black striped shirt, black shorts and either black or red socks, this style of kit is still worn today. In 1987, after a tremendous amount of hard work with fund raising, obtaining small grants etc, we managed to raise enough money to purchase our clubhouse and negotiate the lease of the old Rover ground off Greenaleigh Rd where we still play to this day. Due to the continuing hard work and success of the teams, in 1988 we formed Maypole Utd - this allowed us to have 2 teams eligible to play in the same age group, since then we have ran both names under Maypole FC. Throughout Maypole s history there have been a great number of people who have contributed towards the clubs continued success, especially the following: Ben Onions, Bob Devey, George McGahey, Jim Penn, Stan Baldwin and John Lockley. There has also been a truly outstanding contribution from Hazel & Mick McGahey who have been dedicated to the club since the very beginning and without their immense time and effort, Maypole FC would not be where it is today. Julia Lyons and Liam Bryan would both like to wish both teams the best of luck today. The transition from the beginning of the season has seen Northfield Town do really well with the team reaching the semi final of the open cup, the league cup final and contending for promotion to the Premier Division. The commitment from both players and parents this season has been outstanding and we hope everyone enjoys their day. Thanks for your support
