2 WELCOME FROM THE #PS4NPLNSW Welcome to all of our supporters, sponsors, players and officials to the Ilinden Sports Centre for this Round 5 PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men s clash against Sydney Olympic. We enter this game off the back off a gritty and hard fought 3-2 away victory against Hakoah. It s never easy going to Hensley and so to grab the three points was most pleasing. It leaves us in a strong position having secured wins in all 3 games played so far. This week will require a step up against another undefeated side, Sydney Olympic. They have started the year strongly and are positioned above us on the ladder, albeit having played an extra game. It will no doubt be a tense tussle but as always, we go into the game with confidence that we can continue our strong start to the campaign. We hope our wonderful supporters get behind the boys for this big game. We also wish our other senior teams the very best. Our under 18s have now won 2 games on the trot following a catch up victory against Sydney United and on Saturday night, a win over Hakoah. Our under 20s also defeated Sydney United in a catch up game before going down to a strong Hakoah Sydney East side. Both will be looking to pick up points this weekend. Our SAP and Youth teams will be in action this weekend and our army of Juniors will be playing their round 2 fixtures at grounds across the St.George district. Away from football, it was a pleasure having at the Club last Friday night a number of our 1985 side for a reunion. Many thanks to Bill Pilovski for organising and it was great to see these former club legends come together after so many years. On the infrastructure front, we ve completed some internal updates to the club house and we will now move on with our next club projects. Stay tuned for more news on those. 5 NPLNSW.COM.AU MATCH FIRST GRADE Competition front runners Rockdale City Suns and Sydney Olympic face their sternest test this season so far. It s a match with potential to be one of the season s best. Both sides have yet to lose a game this season and will have their heart set on ending their opponents near flawless start. Under new coach Jamie Monroy, Olympic has adapted a technical pass heavy approach which has starved their opponents of possession and allowed them to control matches from the outset. Parramatta FC ground out a draw with a no frills defensive effort against Sydney Olympic despite Monroy s team holding 70 per cent of possession. 6 FIRST GRADE #PS4NPLNSW Hakoah Sydney City East 2 - Rockdale City Suns 3 at Hensley Athletic Field Rockdale City Suns maintained their impeccable record with a 3-2 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men s victory against Hakoah Sydney City East. The home side had the better of the first half chances but didn t capitalise on them and this allowed Rockdale City Suns to go into the break a goal up thanks to a strike from Aleks Canak. Goals to Harris Gaitatzis and Jordan early in the second half stretched Rockdale s lead to three by the 65th minute. Hakoah mounted a spirited fight back with two late goals to Bradley Walker and Paul Orgad but it wouldn t to be for the Gavin Rae coached side as Rockdale clung on for all three points. Parramatta FC 0 - Sydney Olympic 0 at Melita Stadium Parramatta FC has clung on to snatch a 0-0 draw with Sydney Olympic FC during their PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men s clash at Melita Stadium on Sunday. It was a gritty performance from the home side who held on despite the visitors having the most of the possession and the best of the chances. While it was a frustrating result for Olympic, the Belmore Sports Ground based side remain undefeated after four rounds. 6

8 FEATURE STORY #PS4NPLNSW FOOTBALL NSW Football NSW held its Annual General Meeting for the 2016 financial year on Friday evening at its headquarters in Glenwood during which elections were held for three Director positions. Football NSW would like to confirm that Anter Isaac and James Chetcuti were re-elected by the Members as Directors of Football NSW for further terms of four years. Carlos Gonzalez was newly elected to Board and will also serve a term of four years. Anter and James will continue their service as Directors after first being elected on 1 March Football NSW welcomes Carlos to the Board. Carlos holds a strong passion for the game having played at all levels including at grassroots and at national and international levels which saw him play for the likes of clubs such as Sydney Olympic in the former National Soccer League as well as experiencing the English Premier League while playing for Newcastle United. Carlos also represented the Young Socceroos and Olyroos and took part in the 1997 FIFA World Youth Cup in Malaysia. Carlos brings with him not only a strong football background but also a high level of experience at executive corporate levels including in his current role as Senior Assets and Transaction Manager with ANZ. Football NSW congratulates Anter, James and Carlos on their election to the Board. 11 NPLNSW.COM.AU MATCH UNDER 20s Sydney Olympic are aiming to bounce back from their first defeat in over ten matches when the reigning champions travel to Ilinden Sports Centre to face Rockdale City Suns on Sunday. The Blues were beaten 2-0 by Parramatta in round four and will face a Rockdale side desperate for points after a stop-start beginning to the campaign. Stamati Glaros side lost 2-0 to Hakoah Sydney City East in their most recent outing but a 2-1 defeat over Sydney United 58 indicates the Suns have the potential to cause a few headaches for the big sides throughout the competition. 11
