2 Pregame Outline All Officials MIBT Make It Be There Taunting NO TOLERANCE. Get ften, get it early. Targeting Be sure yu can define clearly what yu saw. ALWAYS BE A GREAT DEAD BALL OFFICIAL. Yu may be the ne that saves the crew. ARKN Assume Referee Knws Nthing R may be cmpletely fcused n backfield actin. Be clear and cncise in reprting penalties. Wingmen Keep the sideline clean. Be sure that all ffense players are within the 9 yard marks befre the snap this ges fr all ffense players whether r nt they were n the field fr the previus play. H will msey up the away sideline and set at +30 yd line clear sideline if needed U will msey up the hme sideline and set at +20 yd line clear sideline if needed R galine r 5 yd line. If kick is away frm yu, watch fr illegal blcking by K als watch the kicker. H & L Make sure kick is grunded r nt fr KCI fuls; Make sure it ges 10 yards befre K blcks r can legally tuch the ball. If K recvers, they can nt advance blw it dead. If kick ges lng H & L flw dwnfield fr help. Try s B and L will always be under the galpsts. H has the LOS R will shade t L s sideline. R blw whistle immediately after kick attempt On a fake kick f btched play, R has sideline, U has galine inside ut t L s sideline. Field Gals Inside the 25 same mechanics fr try s Outside the 25 B under the galpst H & L stay at hme If the ball crsses the galine and is unsuccessful, play is dead and the ball is placed n the 20 yardline. If the ball des nt crss the yard line, it is treated as a punt. Free Kick after a Fair Catch r Awarded Fair Catch B & L under the galpsts H is n the gal line U is n R s free kick line R is n K free kick line Kick lines are 10 yards apart Any kick is legal Once the ball crsses the gal line it is dead This can be returned if shrt and in the field f play by R If K recvers, they can nt advance but they d get the ball. Cunting Players B and L cunt defense and verify with each ther R and U cunt ffense and verify with each ther Discuss mre than and less than signals Keep an eye f subs entering the field ONCE they enter the field, they have t participate in the next play. If nt, this is illegal substitutin.

4 Measurements Wingman Tight plays, pinch briskly t get a gd spt. If yu can t make it int the pile stp, hld yur spt and R r U will bring the ball ut t yu fr a lk r measurement. Sell it! If it is clse, R, H, r L stps the clck. B hlds the ball H brings in the chains L hlds the spt n the big line fr H t set his clip U pulls the chain tight n H s side f field. R takes a peak If it is shrt and we are utside the hashes, R mves the ball int the hash with chain secured in his hands alng with H resetting n the hash and U pulling tight. Smene remind R whether the clck is rlling n the RFP. Penalty Administratin The fficial thrwing the flag kills the clck and if R is nt paying attentin get n the whistle. Whatever fficial is free frm watching the dumb stuff and is nt invlved in administratin, try t cver the flag. If there are tw flags, calling fficials get tgether. If it is the same ful, talk and adjust flags t the same spt n the field. One fficial reprts Reprting t R take yur time. Dn t need the readers digest versin. Facts and cliff ntes. Numbering Exceptin Rule On 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd dwns the numbering exceptin rule is limited t nly the snapper wh may have an eligible number as lng as there are 4 ther players with ineligible numbers n the LOS and the snapper is psitined smewhere between the tackles. There must be a hlder at least 7 yards frm the snapper, and a kicker 10 yards frm the snapper (ie., team must be in a FG/Try frmatin). R & U will signal this situatin. Als n 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd dwns, it is legal t have the snapper n the end f the line wh is wearing an eligible number t be an eligible receiver such as in the swinging gate r plecat frmatin, but nly as lng as there are 5 ther players n the LOS wearing ineligible numbers. That frmatin als is legal n 4 th dwn as lng as the ffense is in either ne f the tw legal scrimmage kick frmatins even with the numbering exceptin rule is in effect. The snapper n the end f the line is an eligible receiver nly if he has an eligible number n his jersey. On 4 th dwn, the ld numbering exceptin rule is in effect as lng as the ffense is in either ne f the tw legal scrimmage kick frmatins ( FG / Punt ). In either f the numbering exceptin rule frmatins, there may NOT be a player directly under the snapper in a psitin t receive a direct hand-t-hand snap.
