PRESIDENT S REPORT It is with pride and pleasure that I present my 9th report as President of this wonderful club. This year we fielded 67 teams, one up on last year, comprising around 850 players and over 100 officials, again by far the largest club in the Bankstown district. We had 34 SSG Teams in Grades 6 to 11; 15 teams in the Junior Grades 12 to 16; and 18 Senior teams. Of our 33 competitive sides 21 made the semis, of those 6 were successful in winning their competitions and 8 were runners up. Our Joeys program was again a great success with Drew and his band of helpers doing a wonderful job grooming the next generation of Panania soccer. A new initiative at Committee level this year was a dedicated planning session, held last December and resulting in a detailed Action Plan to guide the Committee in running and improving the club. Most of the agreed actions were achieved in 2017 and we will be repeating the session this December to review our results and reset our plans for The single major issue affecting all BDAFA clubs in 2017 was the draw or lack of it. BDAFA has software that processes the draw if information is entered properly to start with, it wasn t. We have paid employees at BDAFA whose priority ought be getting the fundamentals right, they didn t. This is not a criticism of individuals, it is a clear statement that BDAFA as an organisation failed in this critical aspect in The home and away system was almost non-existent, some teams wouldn t have seen Kelso for a game if not for our intervention. Constant changes, no regrading of SSG teams, competitions finishing in mid-july simply, not good enough. In relation to this and other matters I met with other BDAFA clubs in October and we discussed various aspects of the season and BDAFA s performance. From this meeting we have drafted a paper which has been forwarded to BDAFA, setting out areas of dissatisfaction with the 2017 season and making suggestions for next year. Among these suggestions are: A calendar of the season being set up at the start of the season setting out the dates of all competitions including finals, and sticking with it. Spare weekends set aside to play washed out games; 4 weeks to replay washed out games, otherwise a draw is declared. The draw being issued at the start of the season for the full season (except SSG), with even home and away allocations. The SSG draw being set for a month, then regraded to provide more even competitions. SSG Divisions being alphabetical, eg 6A rather than 6 Blue South Platypus! We will report back on any feedback we receive from BDAFA. Another new initiative was to bring forward our AGM from the traditional November to early October, and to combine it with the Coaches & Managers Thank You Drinks. This was very successful with greater numbers at the AGM and some new faces on the committee. I m pleased to say I was reelected President so will serve my 10 th year in We held our 4th Sportsmen s Lunch during the year, again at The Masos, our attendance continues to grow and this year s entertainment was the best we ve had, highlighted by Greg Ritchie. This year the Number One Badge auction again went to Peter O Shea, thanks again Pete, the support you provide in many ways is always appreciated. In 2018 we are looking to have squads in both PL1 and PL2 for the first time since To that end we have established a PL Committee that is responsible for coordinating both squads, with a focus on providing a clear pathway into PL for our younger players, supported by the experience of more senior players. This year I took a 6 week break mid-season for a tour of the USA with the First Lady, by far the longest time I ve had away from the club since becoming part of it in The club ran perfectly well in my absence thanks to your outstanding committee. Secretary Dave McFadden took control of the reins very capably and we enlisted Jimmy Bowmaker to put together the draw each week no easy task with constant changes frustrating an already overly complicated process. The committee as a whole continued to work together to ensure the club operated effectively, thanks to all for their efforts. 6

In addition to our committee there are innumerable players, officials, family members and friends of the club who put their hand up to help whenever asked, and often without being asked. We remain the envy of other clubs in this respect and it should be an enormous source of pride for all club members. To all those who were part of our club this year, I sincerely hope you enjoyed the season and will be back with us next year. If not, let me know why, we re always looking to improve. That s it for this year, see you next season. Bob Bell President 7

Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: Dereck Love Jo Hofmeier Elijah Honeine 6 Red Koalas Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: The later games showed how much our team had developed, with some close games against teams who had scored many goals against us, earlier in the season. The team is never short of players putting their hands up to help each other, to score a goal or make a tackle. The boys have been a pleasure to coach this year! The Team Name Commentary 1 Zac Hofmeier Started as our little timid mid fielder, Zac has come out of his shell in recent times and is happy to throw you a grin during the game. Zac has improved over the season and has begun to happily mix it up with his opposition players. His kicking has improved remarkably during the season! 2 Samuel Love Sam has taken to football with natural speed and a goal scoring ability. He is developing an awareness of the game and has begun passing to his mates with a lot of success. He loves a good slide tackle and scores many a running goal after making a break down the field. He enjoys a good goal scoring celebration. 3 Elijah Honeine Elijah has developed as the team s natural all-rounder. Happy to back up his mates and has the ability to knock in a goal from long range on an increasing regular basis or make a break down the field. He has continued to improve over the season and puts in a strong performance every game. 4 Nicholas Bayley Having a natural flair in and around the ball, Nick can dribble the ball better than most other players. Nick strikes the ball very well and when needed and has a mean corner kick. Nick has improved throughout the season and always wants to be in the action. 5 Benjamin Collins With natural speed and an enthusiastic determination to score, Ben s goal shooting and defence have improved a lot throughout the year. His natural speed has enabled him to tirelessly sprint up the field to attack and back to defend. He has begun developing his passing game with success. 6 Luke Brennan Our little worker. Luke works tirelessly in the middle and has been rewarded with goal scoring successes. He has the ability to take the ball off almost any player to get the team out of the danger. He is the best listener in the team on and off the field. 13

6 White Kangaroos Coach: Mario Favotto Manager: Michael Lescesin Players Player: The Team A great season by the U/6 Kangaroos team. Well done boys, the coach and manager are very proud of you all this season. With all their hard work and dedication, the team enjoyed many wins throughout the season. Most importantly seeing the boys enjoy themselves on the field and have fun is what it s all about. A big thank you to all the parents for their tireless efforts and to braving the cold on the many 8am games on a Saturday morning! The boys are very lucky to have you as parents. The boys learnt a lot from training and as the season progressed we could see the team improve as a whole and each player individually. Dylan Bojdak Dylan the youngest member of the team has improved throughout the season and we saw this with his ball skills, passing and confidence. Well done, Dylan. Harley Kegg Harley has made big strides throughout the year, particularly with his ball control and powerful kicks. Always a solid and reliable player in each match. Fantastic work, Harley. Harrison Hawkins Harrison is a player that we have seen improve overall with his ball skills, kicking and confidence. A player that always tries his hardest and helps out his teammates. Great work, Harrison. Thomas Gemmell Thomas, a player that always puts in a big effort and has scored many goals. Thomas is a player that does not stop running when on the field and in the last match of the season his boot literally fell apart! Well done, Thomas. Spencer Favotto Spencer, the ever-reliable player that can defend, attack and score fantastic goals with his big shots. He is also a player that does not stop running and always puts in a big effort for the team when on the field. Excellent work, Spencer. Christian Lescesin Christian, an exciting player to watch, who has scored dozens and dozens of goals throughout the season. We lost count of his goal tally after round 3! Not only a goal scoring machine but also saved many goals with his defending. Outstanding work, Christian. Well done U/6 Kangaroos boys, it was a pleasure coaching each and every one of you and we look forward to seeing each of you play again next season. Regards, Michael Lescesin U/6 Kangaroos Team Manager. 14

6 Orange Emus Coach: Jackie Paul Manager: Jackie Paul Players Player: Suriya Royal Season Summary: This was a first for most of us this year. I had not managed or coached a team before let alone played soccer. Most of our little players hadn t played the game before either. That being said this year was a great introduction into the game. I was privileged enough to watch the kids grow and develop through the season and just enjoy playing each week. It was fantastic to see towards the end of the season the kids all starting to work together as a team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents/families for their help with the team especially Paul and Moe for your help with refereeing and guiding the kids on the field and at training. I look forward to seeing you all next year. The Team Name Commentary 1 Tamika Paul Tamika is a determined and talented player who will not take a backwards step to the boys. She was one of the top goal scorers for the season and her tight ball skills and motivation definitely make her one to watch for the future. 2 Idris Khodragha Idris is a passionate player who absolutely loves his soccer and works to develop his skills and technical ability every chance he gets. He excels in attack as well as defence and you can see the fire in his eyes when a goal is scored against his team. 3 Suriya Royal Suriya is an all-around team player. In defence and attack, she always shows initiative and listens to advice. Without Suriya s exceptional defensive skills, a lot more goals would have been scored against our team. 4 Emily Walker This was Emily s first kick of a ball and there wasn t a game where she wasn t smiling. She played consistently and enthusiastically throughout the season and worked hard at training to develop her skills. 5 Aaron Pasnin Aaron was the most improved player throughout the season. He was a little pocket rocket and when the motivation to score goals hit, there was absolutely no stopping him. 6 Julian Guidone Julian scored one of the goals of the season that even had the coach jumping for joy. He was a committed player who always gave his all and showed a marked improvement with each and every game. 6 Blue Platypus Coach: Martyn Waters and Ross O'Donovan Manager: Megan Waters The Team Jacob Ismail William Lawson Jayden Joseph Marco Naidovski Finn O'Donovan Harley Waters Panania RSL Youth Club Soccer Club congratulates the 6 Blue Platypus on their achievements and hopes that the players enjoyed their season. 15

7 White Echidnas Coach: Steve Gow and Ian Sinclair Manager: Kathy Gow Players Player: Dion Petrakis Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against Team Report We worked really hard on our skills as a team this season and it showed on the field as we received compliments on our passing game from a number of our opponents. We didn t always win but we played the game in the right spirit and with great commitment. Congratulations boys! Name Commentary 1 Alex Catling Although it was Alex s first season he showed us just how much he loves to get in and tackle. Can score a goal but saved many more. 2 Hayes Gow Hayes is tenacious and competitive, with good ball skills and a strong boot. Shared the leading goal scoring honours with 20 goals for the season. 3 Ayden McGrath This was also Ayden s first season of soccer coming across from football. He has proven to be a fast runner, skilful and very competitive. 4 Toby Mitas This was Toby s first soccer season with us. He always put in 100% into both training and the games. 5 Dion Petrakis Dion was our most improved player this year. His confidence with the ball grew throughout the season and was not afraid to challenge for it. 6 Lewis Sinclair Lewis competitive side came out this year. As the season progressed he showed us he will tackle anyone and doesn t stop until he gets the ball. 7 Elijah Waitai Tipene Another good season from Elijah, he is a strong and consistent player. Shared the leading goal scoring honours with 20 goals for the season. 7 White Crocodiles Coach: Mark Weir Manager: Julie Tomanovic Players Player: Jade Dominis Our Players Ashley Tomanovic Ashley has further improved on all parts of the game this year. She has shown that she has the capability to really be a dangerous player when she is on her game. Ashley s understanding of the game has come a long way and her ball skills have significantly improved. Ashley tried her hardest each game, particularly trying hard to and get the trophy at the end of each the game. Great season Ashley! 16

Jade Dominis This was the first year Jade has played soccer and all I can say is she is a natural. Jade is one of the strongest players in the competition and I would say she is easily the best female player in the Bankstown district for her age. If Jade continues to play soccer, she will easily be a representative player and the sky is the limit! I ll even call it early that she could go on to play for the Matildas. I look forward to seeing her on the bigger field next season. Great season Jade. A well deserved winner of the player s player award Hayley Weir Hayley had a great season this year and has really grown as a player. For the smallest player out there, she has shown that she is not afraid to get amongst it. Hayley s attack and defence has significantly improved along with her being able to pass the ball to other players. The fashions on the field was missing a little this year and I think the pink gloves only came out once! I blame climate change. Well done Hayley on a great year. Leo De Angelis Leo tried hard all season and about ¾ of the way through the season I found his position. Leo became a specialist fullback and I have to say he stopped a number of goals much to the displeasure of the opposition. The game wouldn t be the same without Leo coming in for a hug during each stoppage. Well done Leo on what has been your best year so far Patrick Karatas Patrick really came out of his shell this year. Patrick was given the task of ensuring the team was warmed up at training and before the game. Patrick has improved that much this year that he has become one of strongest attackers in the team. With his unique kicking style he scored a number of goals this year and his game will continue to get stronger in the larger field in Fantastic season Patrick! Declan Muldoon Declan by far is the most improved player this season. Declan was outstanding this year and really is one of the most consistent players in the team. Declan is a totally different player to what he was last year or even at the start of this season to what he was at the end. He is a player that a coach can rely on to get the job done, either in defence or in attack. He will be one to watch next year and see the combination with players develop. Well done on a great season Declan Eli Thanasuras Eli the player who has one of the strongest kicks and most importantly, accurate kicks. It s an absolute pleasure to coach Eli as he takes on board what you say to him and he tries his hardest every game. Eli was put in defence during the season and he took to it like a duck to water as he is pure fullback. Eli was another player who has come out of his shell and can t wait to see him play next season on the larger field. Ryan Watters Ryan continued to surprise me throughout the season. Ryan is purely a forward and shows that in every part of his game. He gets frustrated when things aren t going our way, he only has one speed and that is full speed, he blows up when the opposition scores and boy does he make sure the opposition knows he has scored a goal. I can t wait to see Ryan in the open field next year where his speed and skills will really stand out. Great season Ryan! As a coach it is such a pleasure to stand back and watch players develop their skills but when you have a group of players that become a team that work as a unit is so satisfying. My aim for this year was really to prepare the kids for the larger field and start to put players in positions and get them to start passing the ball around to each other and I can say that this was achieved. I have really enjoyed this season which makes the time go really quick and feel lucky that I have a group that is committed and really enjoy playing soccer. My job was made so much easier by having a great manager on board who looked after all the runnings behind the scene which allowed me to purely look after training and the game. Thanks so much Julie for your assistance throughout the season I really do appreciate it. Not only do I have great players and manager but I have a great bunch of parents who all helped out when needed and the commitment to ensure the kids are always at training and at the game on time. Thank you for the season, I look forward to seeing these kids play in 2018 and continue their success. Mark Weir Coach 17

Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: Patrick Sharkey Julie Buckley The whole team 7 Red Kangaroos Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: The dedication shown by the whole team The great teamwork which developed during the season The Team Name Commentary 1 Claire Buckley Great at marking the opposition. 2 Frederick Sharkey Good in defence and accurate long-range kick 3 Lucas Naumovski Enthusiastic offensive player 4 Stephen Limnios Our youngest team member, always ready to get boot to ball 5 Thomas Limnios Strong runner, committed to the team 6 Zoe Chamakos Gets into the heart of the action 7 Red Koalas Coach: Marty Whitear Manager: Tim Marsh Players Player: Curtis Marsh Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against The highlights of the season were: Alexander / Kiran s 1 st goals the smiles on the kid s faces was brilliant The kids loved playing and training we were not the biggest team but we tried all the time / trained all the time Improvement from last year the kids growing in confidence / skills and competiveness some changes to the team everyone had FUN 18

The Team Name Commentary 1 Ava Gaughan Ava had another strong year she has a never say die attitude and is excellent in attack scoring 14 goals and her cover defence at times through the year was inspirational, she just loves her soccer. Ava is a very hard trainer and such a pleasure to coach great year by Ava well done. 2 James Mitchell I labelled James as Mr Energy last year nothing has changed if we kick the ball out or the opposition kick the ball out he just wants it. He is very aggressive in defence through his attitude, his passing was the best in the team and he scored 5 goals really matured from last year with his skills super year from our man Mr Energy well done Jimmy 3 Kiran York Kiran is the smallest in the team but has a huge heart his skill s improved from last year and was really getting into his soccer this year, scoring 2 goals the smile who could forget it. Tackling opposition and being a general nuisance to their attackers in defence he had a knack of saving goals and started to learn to defend players to the sideline played injured at the back end of the year which was very brave well done mate. 4 Alexander Bova Alex was new to the team this year joining his mates from Panania Public School, energetic / boisterous are a few words for Alexander. New to skills and drills Alexander improved out of site from round 1 > round 19 scoring his 1 st goal for the diggers in RND 15 provided our 1 st header for the year were some great highlights, he really started to hit his stride and we hope to see him back next year on the big field great 1 st up year. 5 Michael Whitear Michael loves to sit up near the full backs looking for goals not sure where he gets that from.he scored 1 goal this year but had lots of shots that hit the woodwork or just missed the bigger goals next year will see him bang in plenty of goals. When Michael was in the thick of it defending and trying to get the ball more often than not he came out of top which is excellent. Hs dribbling in open play again like last year was a highlight the open fields on U8 s next year will be great for Michael well done mate. 6 Curtis Marsh Curtis had a great year at training and on the field he just loved being out there and hated being off the field. He has picked up dribbling past defenders this year and attacked really well scoring 19 goals ( passing next year mate on the big field will get us more goals ). He also loved helping out in defence with his mates, tackling hard, maybe at some times over the top according to the coach but played in very good spirit well done Curtis on a good year. 19

7 Blue Emus Coach: Elisè Everingham Manager: Jacquie Douglass Players Player: Joshua Everingham & Christian Margi Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: The parents enjoyed coming each week & watching the children play & have fun every week. Week 10. V s Padstow United Club, there was 5 children on each team on the field & 4 Panania children decided to leave the field for various reasons, which left 1 Panania player, playing against 5 Padstow United players. The camaraderie between the players. After every game (win or lose), the kids would wrestle, cuddle & laugh with each other. The Team Name Commentary 1 Abbie Pasnin Abbie really enjoyed the social & element in soccer and loved being part of a team and making new friends. 2 Elexis Mason Lexi starts out shy, but when she knows you, she is always an active chatterbox child. Lexi enjoys playing soccer with the friends she has made at soccer. PRSL is ingrained in her family. 3 Gracie Curtis Gracie started the season off as a shy girl. So shy, she was immediately embarrassed when she scored her first goal. However, since that first goal, confidence grew week to week & by the end of the season, she became one of our leading defenders. 4 Christian Margi Christian was a little shy when he first joined the team, but settled in quite well, making great friends. Confronted with larger fields and larger opponents, plus goalkeepers for the first time, the entire team rose to the occasion. Every player improved their skills throughout the season and should be commended. Most pleasing was the spirit in which each game was played. In every regard, the boys did themselves and their families proud. Congratulations on a fantastic 2017 season. Angela has found her position at left fullback. Angela has no fear, is very competitive, a competent player with a big kick and reads the game well. Great work Angela. Well done Tommy. 4 Benjamin Rawcliffe Ben is very energetic and enthusiastic. The team lifts in his presence. Great work Ben. 5 Ellen Abdallah Ellen has natural soccer skills and provided many goals and movement around the midfield. Ellen was the second highest goal scorer and was always competitive whilst being a team player. Ellen provided many goal assists. Well done Ellen 6 Daniel Ateya Daniel has found his position on the field as a midfielder. Daniel has come out of his shell this year, competes for the ball more and commands the midfield. Daniel provided the most goal assists. Daniels skills have improved remarkably since last year. Awesome work Daniel. 7 Andrew Makroglou 8 Annalise Larsen Andrew was an addition to the team this year. Andrew is a solid right back, forming a great partnership with Angela. Andrew saved the team many times from conceding a large number of goals. Andrew played well in goals when needed and also has a solid kick. Great work Andrew. Annalise was also new to the team. Annalise plays wherever the team needs a player and Annalise always tries her best. Annalise has come far from the start of the year with her skills and participation in the game. Annalise is a goal keeper in the making. Well Done Annalise. 9 Aria Stam Aria is the teams pocket rocket. Aria is always full of energy and gives 100%. Aria plays well in midfield and back where she covers a lot of ground running. Aria always competes for the ball and has also improved since last year. Great work Aria 10 Ruby Savva Ruby has developed into a great back. Ruby has come out of her shell this year and competes more for the ball. Ruby also has developed a great kick and has formed a great partnership at the back with Angela and Andrew. Awesome work Ruby. 23

Tough tackler as well. 9 Phoenix Always strong in tackles and chasing down players and steal the ball from under them. 10 Simon Great anywhere on the field, never stopped chasing the ball. 24

Coach: Daniel Moy Players Player: The whole team 8 Red Platypus Report A merger of two teams and a few first year players, who had fun all the way. A much deserved win towards the end of the year being one highlight. A massive thank you to all the parents who were very supportive of their children and when called upon by the club always turned up to help out with the fields, canteen etc. A further note to The Braddocks, Matt Waugh & Barb who helped me out in different areas across the year with managing the team. A big note of thanks to the club and the committee also for their continued hard work and great organisation of a club our size. Last but definitely at the least to our superstar players. Although you may feel winning games is the only measure of success at this age it s your competitiveness, never give up attitude and willingness to keep going no matter what that will serve you well in later years. I am so proud of you all and although you may not see it you improved out of sight this year as players and as a team as the year went on. Well done. The Team Name Commentary 1 Jamal Aboaal What an absolute pleasure it is to have Jamal in the team. His first year of soccer and stuck his hand up and had a go at everything and had some great moments along the way. Really started get into a groove right before he needed to get his tonsils out. Thanks Jamal and well done. 2 Noah Braddock Noah quite simply has a heart that is bigger than Phar Lap s. Always supportive of his team mates and even the other team most times as well a true sportsperson. After a shaky start in goals early in the year he showed great resolve to go in again later on in the year and had a blinder, playing a key role in our one and only win of the year. Great character Noah and thank you. 3 Ryley Dick Having coached Ryley in previous years I know there is no holding this young lady back. It took a broken arm to put her on the sidelines this year but was straight back in as soon as she could. I love your determination and love for the game Ryley. Keep it up and thank you. 4 Marcus Hammoud Quite obviously a naturally gifted soccer player who I think would be good at any sport he chooses to play, but I was very proud to be able to have the chance to spend some time with him in our team this year. Fair to say would have won the golden boot award for most goals this year and could be found playing every position on the field every week. Keep it up mate and thank you. 5 Raseem Ibrahim When I think of Raseem s year this year the words explosive and dynamic come to mind and man he can shoot from almost anywhere on the park, almost scoring a goal from half way this year. A little more focus on his own game and some better ball control to combine with his natural pace and ability will see him a very hard player to stop. Well done Raseem and thank you. 6 Ryan Maxwell What a mature soccer player this young lad is for an 8 year old! Great vision, good with the ball at his feet and runs all day. Although a natural defender I can see Ryan becoming quite the accomplished central midfielder as he gets older. 25

7 Cooper Moy Coops relished the opportunity to be a goalkeeper this year and we saw him being called upon many times. He never let his team mates down pulling off some great saves and kept us in the game a lot of the time in doing so. A very competitive player it was hard to show him how important his saves were in comparison to his desire to score goals for his team at the other end of the field. 8 Sophie O Neill Sophie s first year of soccer which saw a very shy, nervous young lady rock up to her 1 st training session. It wasn t long before we saw that beaming smile running all over the park at training and the big game and really gained confidence with every game that passed. Great 1 st year Miss Sophie and thank you! 9 Sahil Rashied Formed a good combination with Raseem and Marcus in attack and Ryan and Cooper in defence. We didn t see as much of Sahil as we would have liked unfortunately due to asthma but we loved having him in the team when he was available. A strong player on the ball with plenty of skill often creating from the back. Thank you and well done Sahil. 10 Tahlia Smithwick Unfortunately we didn t see as much of Tahlia as we would have liked but the thing that stands out for me about Tahlia is just how much she loves playing soccer when she is on the park. Can t wait to see you playing more and more in the years to come. 11 Lucynda Waugh Year on year this little lady exponentially just gets better and better in leaps and bounds. From being the shy girl a few years ago and not wanting to tackle to now leading from the front and being the first in on most tackles and anything else for that matter. Excellent year this year Lucynda, thank you! Coach: Nick Petrovski Manager: Gabriella Petrovski Players Player: Zachary Petrovski Season Summary: 8 Blue Kangaroos Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: Aidan s impressive header of the season Lachlan s infectious soccer fever Team comradery throughout the season The Team Name Commentary 1 Zachary Petrovski Great team player and mate to everyone in his team, always staying positive on the field and finding a new passion in the goalie position 2 Oscar Petrovski A powerhouse in his efforts every match for his team Oscar s never give up attitude was inspiring to his team mates 26

Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: Terence Whitfield Paul Bayley Drew Kurtz 9 Red Platypus Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: Our last game of the season. This team had beaten us twice but the boys were determined. Late in the second half, Jordan scored the winning goal (his first ever) to secure the win! Watching the boys improve and come together as a team Jordan, Matt and Zach all scored their first goal ever A big thank you to the parents. Their support throughout the season made the jobs of coach and manager so much easier. We hope to see you all again next year for another great season. The Team Name 1 Christian Albanese Commentary Christian is one of our versatile players. He did a great job in goal, in defence and up front. As his confidence improved, so too did his skills. He played a great support role to Drew at the back frustrating many teams when it counted the most. 2 Lukas Bayley Lukas skills this year would constantly amaze us from fancy footwork that baffled the opposition to phenomenal goal keeping saving goals left right and centre. Lukas was our leading goal scorer with 10 from only 31 shots this season. He proved to be a real pivotal player to the team s success. 3 Matthew Brennan 4 Kieran Brennan Matt s confidence went from strength to strength this year. He challenged for the ball against kids twice his size and often won. Matt scored his first goal this year in round 13, well done. Kieran was our quiet achiever this season. He even surprised himself when he demonstrated how well he could defend against some of the toughest teams. His ball skills improved again this year and he should be proud of how well he played. 5 Heath Ebbs When Heath comes off the field, there is nothing left in the tank. As a goal keeper, he did a fantastic job saving more goals than any other keeper. Heath s defensive game improved dramatically throughout the year, becoming a key member of the team. 6 Oliver Ghantous 7 Keanu Goncalves Olly always puts in his best effort with a positive attitude. He used his advantages of height and speed to keep our opponents defence on their toes. Olly always put the team before himself and did whatever was required to the best of his ability and never gave up. Well done. Keanu has strong ball skills and added goal keeping to his repertoire. He used his ability to read the play to set up numerous goals for the team as well as scoring 8 himself. When Keanu plays at his best, the rest of the team lifts their game too. 8 Drew Kurtz Drew was our player s player this year. His consistent strong defence was second to none denying countless goals to our opponents. Drew has such a strong kick he even managed to score a goal without stepping far into the other team s half. Well done and well deserved. 28

9 Jordan Spagnolo As Jordan s passion for the game grew so too did his skills. He went from timid to fearless and this was evident each time he took to the field. Jordan s determination to succeed this year was rewarded with his first goal which also secured a win for the team. 10 Zachary Taylor This was Zach s first year of soccer and fitted in well as a great addition to the team. His speed and agility made him a great all-rounder on the field. Zach played well regardless of the position he was given and scored his first goal in round 14. Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: 9 Red Wombats Brad Parmeter Nicole Atzemis Sebastian Siegler & Alex Solomon Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: Undefeated again Great team work Great kids Wow another year over, gee it went quick! Firstly I would like to start with how talented this team is, they play soccer well beyond their years. The team work they show on the field has to be seen to be believed; they pass the ball around and use the whole field to their advantage. We had 3 new players join us this year the Sebastian S, Sebastian M and Dylan, these boys were a great pick up for our side. This is my 1 st year as coaching these kids and they made me look like I knew what I was doing. They made me look GOOD! A massive thank you to Nicole, Manager of the year! Thank you for everything you did for our team, your organisation is a credit to you and on behalf of myself and the rest of the parents a massive THANKS. To Bob Bell and the rest of the committee thank you for making this the #1 club in the area. The Team Name 1 Tommy Chakarovski Commentary The speedster of the team, my striker who loved playing on the bigger field, scored plenty of goals this year with his massive boot that had keepers ducking for cover. Great year, Tommy! 2 Harry Gourlay Harry had a great season playing up the back stopping many goals; he has the ability to kick the ball from both feet. He scored plenty of goals this year as well, some from well outside the box. Good stuff, Harry! 3 Summer Hession Summer had another solid year scoring some good goals, but most important she was there to stop them. Not many opposing players got past her, and if they did, she would chase them down. Well done, Summer! 29

4 Rhys Parmeter Burger, my Mr Fix It played striker, midfield, and stopper! Where ever I played him he did his job. Scored plenty of goals this year but more importantly set them up for his team mates. Top year, mate! 5 Nikolas Petkovic Nik improved big time this year, scored some goals and stopped a lot as well, keep working on your game mate going great. Well done, Nikolas! 6 Sebastian Siegler New to my team. What a player! He did a great job, scored heaps and stopped a lot of goals. Has a great awareness of the game and was a pleasure to coach, keep going mate and don t forget me when you make it! Great year, Seb! 7 Alex Solomon Tremendous team player had a great year setting up many goals as well as scoring them, has great skill for a kid his age. Keep working hard mate, you had a terrific season. Way to go, Alex! 8 Dylan Thompson New addition to my team and fitted in straight away, I am still not sure if he is right foot or left, goes well with both. Played midfield this year and had a super season. Scored some great goals. Well done, Dylan! 9 Sebastian Manno Another new player slotted in straight away, my other striker, had a good season scoring many goals, has good skill and good boot on him too. Big year next year mate. Well done, buddy! 9 Blue Emus Coach: Vinko Dominis Manager: Suzana Maniscalco The Team Oscar Bongailas Sebastian Collins Thaleson Dominis Ethan Fahd Connor Gitsham Patrick Kemp Olivier Khoury Luca Maniscalco Kalom Schou Jayden Tomanovic Panania RSL Youth Club Soccer Club congratulates the 9 Blue Emus on their achievements and hopes that the players enjoyed their season. 30

9 Blue Koalas Coach: Steve Miller Manager: Michelle Miller Players Player: Jens Lucas & Aiden Miller The Team Erik Gilberd Daniel Heneen Victor Kieler Lachlan Lee Jens Lucas Elio MacRi Liam McAndrew Aiden Miller Alexander Zantides Ali Zidan Report This year was a tough season of soccer for our team. Even though we got knocked down, the boys still showed up every week. Friendships were made and the boys enjoyed getting out on the field having a kick, whether it was at training or at the game. We d like to thank all the parents for their help and support throughout the season, it was greatly appreciated. We would also like to wish the boys all the best and hope they continue to enjoy having a kick. 10 Red Kangaroos Coach: Anthony Martin and George Zimonopoulos Players Player: Jayden Maxwell Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against Report This was the first year that the boys had played together as a team, with some coming from other clubs or other teams with Panania to join forces and become UNBEATABLE!!!! What a great season from a fantastic bunch of boys! Having a team of boys that live and breathe soccer and their great mateship made our job as coaches pretty easy. They were eager to learn at training and their improvement as a team showed on the park as the year progressed. The step up to the bigger field posed no issues as they quickly developed an excellent passing game and gelled well in their positions. Every one of the boys was able to get on the scoresheet at different times during the season. Some of the goals were memorable with robona s, bicycle kicks and long range efforts all finding the back of the net. Behind each of the boys are a great group of parents and other family that turned up every week to cheer on the boys. Special thanks to our Stats-mum, Alison, who was a fantastic help keeping track of the goal scorers and pre-game duties every week! Thanks again for a great year!! Can t wait to do it all again next year!! Anthony & George 31

The Team Name 1 Cameron Brophy Commentary Cameron had another great year playing left wing and centre midfield. His excellent ball skill saw him carve up the opposition week in week out and his never say die attitude always helped in defence. His booming left foot yielded some spectacular goals and was an asset with corners and free kicks. 2 Harrison Davy This was Harry s first year back playing soccer after a couple of years off but he quickly found his feet again and was the teams biggest improver during the year. His ball skills improved every week and he was strong in defence and on the wing creating lots of opportunity for our midfield and strikers to score goals. His positional play also improved as the year went on (once he worked out his left from his right and his back from his forward!) 3 Kristian Lukasiewicz Kristian is another of our versatile players who plays on either wing, in the backs and had his share of stints in goal where his anticipation saw him pull off some great saves during the year. He scored a couple of great goals during the year including a memorable long range cracker against Bankstown Sports. 4 Liam Martin Liam had another great year as our striker and sometimes centre midfielder scoring a plethora of goals from all over the park. His mongrel and never say die attitude meant ensured that the opposition rarely made it out of their defensive half and set up many of our goals this year. Scored goals from all over the park including our only header for the year. 5 Jayden Maxwell Jayden is another of our players who quickly improved and grew in confidence as the year went on. This ultimately resulted in him being voted player of the year by his team mates. He shared his time between the right wing and striker and scored some great goals from all over the park. 6 Dean Papas Dean is our Mr Reliable centre back/sweeper and was a rock in defence. What he lacks in size he makes up for in heart and his natural defensive instincts and understanding of his position ensured we were rarely troubled on the score sheet. A couple of memorable cameos up the front saw him score some great goals. 7 Andrew Raad Andrew was goalkeeper for the first half of every game this year and got to watch some great soccer from his team mates! When he was called on to make a save he had great anticipation and put his body on the line every time pulling off some great saves. He played just about every position when he played in the outfield and chased every ball. His tenacity was rewarded with some great goals. 8 Bradley Simler Brad was a rock at right back. His great positional play and defensive efforts frustrated manner opposition attackers. Brad was rarely panicked in defence which meant he had great control with the ball and was able to start many attacking raids from deep in our half including some great runs down the right side which resulted in goals. 9 Daniel Yazbeck Daniel is another of our versatile fullbacks/wingers who was a big improver as the season progressed. His great speed on the wings saw him pull off some great tackles and turn defence into attack. Had his best game in our hardest game of the year against Milperra where he scored an excellent goal from out wide. 32

10 Theo Zimonopoulos Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: Theo played mainly striker and centre mid field this year but like the energiser bunny he was everywhere. He was our top goal scorer this year, scoring spectacular goals at will from all over the park. His silky ball skills saw him carve up the opposition week in week out and his defensive efforts in chasing down players and winning the ball with pin point slide tackles were great to watch. 10 Red Koalas Rob Morris Wayne Johnson Alex Calligaro Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: I will speak on behalf of Wayne and I, it has been a privilege to coach and manage these boys again this season. They have grown as a team and the results have shown on the field. We had a couple of very close games that we possibly should have won but we were very unlucky not to take the win. A great team of young men that hopefully progress to make the club proud as premier league players in the coming years. The way the team bonded and encouraged each other throughout the season. The improvement of the boys throughout the season both individually and as a team. The way the boys would pass around and hold their positions as a team. The Team Name Commentary 1 Kai Allie Kai is the most versatile player in the squad. Kai can play fullback, halves or up front and be outstanding in all the positions. Kai would always look for his team mates to set up our attacking chances. Kai scored plenty of fantastic goals throughout the year and always chased back to assist the defenders. 2 Lucas Donnelly Lucas is a very tough competitor. Whether in defence or attack Lucas is always in the mix and giving his best. Lucas always called for the ball and looked to move forward to the opposing goal. He always passes to his fellow player to help them score but when the chance opens his cracking left foot finds the net. 3 Cameron Flannery Cameron is another new addition to the squad and in my opinion is the most improved player of the year. Cameron showed he could attack but his ability to read the play helped with his ability to defend and stop the opposition attack. 4 Mitchell Johnson Mitch is our goal scoring machine, Mitch is our centre forward who can score with both feet. Mitch can cross from both sides from a corner to put us in a scoring position. Mitch always volunteers as a goal keeper when the times are tough and put his body on the line. 5 Hayden Morris Hayden is the last line of our defence. Some call him the stopper but he prefers the chopper. Hayden has the opinion if he misses the ball he has to stop the opposing player. Always give 100% to help his keeper and the back line saving goals. 33

6 Brandon Stam Brandon is one of the smallest blokes in our team but with a heart bigger than Phar Lap. Brandon always gives 100% and is eager to get on the field to assist his team mates. When Brandon had a crack at goal, all his team mates called Kabooooooom. It s what Brando called at training and we made it his call. 7 Alec Calligaro Alex was voted players player by his team mates with good reason. Alex played right fullback for the majority of the season and always held his own. Anytime there was space down the right side Alex showed his blinding speed and skinned the opposition followed with a cross that would end up with a goal more times than not. 8 Ethan Dunn Ethan is always there for his mates. Whether he was up front or volunteering to keep he gave his best. Ethan stood up when the team was down and pumped them up. I am sure Ethan will be a leader in any team and would be a outstanding captain. 9 Bohdi Glasby Bohdi, what can I say. Always gives 100% no matter what position he plays. Never has anyone hit the posts so many times without finding the net. Jason probably would have defaulted on the mortgage if the ball found the net as he promised Bodhi Macca s if he scored. Next year mate I am sure you will be regular for the Macca s drive through. 10 Koby Kerr Koby is a new addition to our squad this year. Koby has the ability to kick a ball like no one else in the comp. This year Koby nailed a shot from half way straight into the back of the net, individual goal of the season. Koby s long kicks from the goal kick always put the team in a great position in the oppositions half. Koby was also outstanding as a keeper. 11 Joshua Peters Josh played his heart out all year. If Josh had the ball at his feet he had the ability to beat 4 to 5 players and then lay the ball off to one of his team mates for a scoring opportunity. If the chance presented Josh would always slot the ball in the back of the net for his team. 10 Red Emus Coach: Jamie Pollock Assistant Coach: Dave McFadden Manager: Trena Tarrant Players Player: William Tarrant Season Summary: Well, there goes 2017 for the 10 RED EMUS, and what a year it was. There were laughs, a few tears, a few wins, plenty of losses, but a hell of a lot of fun. This year our team consisted of 5 girls and 6 boys all of which contributed equally, five of these guys have all played together in the same team since under 6. A huge thanks to our coach Jamie who turned up every Wednesday to train the kids. Even after getting a job mid-season, that meant she couldn t make game day, she continued to turn up every Wednesday night, rain, hail, lights, or no lights. As well as 11 players this year, our team consisted of 22 parents who bought kids to training, picked them up, showed up to support every Saturday, and made the year the fun it was. A big thank to Trena as well, as our manager this year. After collecting votes from all the players at the end of the year for Players Player, this year it was overwhelmingly awarded to Will Tarrant. Congratulations Will! 34

Only one person can get the award but everyone gave their best every week, so well done all. Max, Will, Zac, Riley, Todd, Jacob, Kyra, Millie, Bella, Alara and Charlie it was a pleasure to help Jamie out coaching you guys this year. Looking forward to another great year next year for everyone that comes back Dave The Team Zachary Beddoe Kyra Campillo Isabella Colbran Charlise Harrison Millie Holmes Todd Hutchinson Riley Marshall Jacob Read Max Tarrant William Tarrant Alara Kececi 10 Blue Platypus Coach: Gavin Johnson Assistant Coach: Norman Mitrevski Manager: Jane Mouk Assistant Manager: Kim McMahon Players Player: Robert Salerno Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against The highlights of the season were: Moving up to the larger field with bigger goals should have suited our game, however with a very slow start to the year and 4 new team mates, it took a little longer the expected to find our groove. It took two big loses, nine nil and six nil and some soul searching for us to understand what was happening and from that moment on we turned the corner and started play like I knew we could. As a team we always controlled our games with strong positional play, excellent team work, precision passing and support up and down the field. However we struggled to find the back of the net regularly (not the goalkeeper, we found them almost every time). We had more shots on goal than every team we played (five to one); they were just straight to the keeper. A couple of small training technique changes and the goals flowed along with the chocolate frogs. We then went on an undefeated run finishing our last 8 games with 2 draws followed by 6 wins finishing the season the in fine fashion. Thank you for a great season with lots of laughs and memorable moments. The Team Name Commentary 1 Zach Johnson How big is the goal? Zach showed us why he is a great keeper with plenty of unbelievable saves to keep us in the tight games. Keep working on those big kicks. 2 Daniel McMahon 3 Robert Salerno Mr Dependable Daniel is developing into a very strong player with a couple of extra tricks in his kit bag The biggest hitter in the team with a silky touch. Controlled the game with his presences. Keep the ball out in front! 4 Jack Mclean Mr casual, when will he find his angry face? New to the team this year but soon became a dependable part of the defensive line. 5 Jack Kolimackovski 6 Jordon Kolimackovski Only played a few games before leaving for 3 month holiday, But showed us he is a talented young man. The little engine that could! Kept chugging along and never gave up. Your game will only get better. 7 Daniel Mouk BELIEVE in Yourself. You have all the skill and time you need! 35

8 Peter Drivas Always in the right place at the right time. Plenty of training sessions this year has shown us what you can do with time on the pitch. 9 Ruby Crowther The happiest player on the team, always smiling and loving the game. You have developed a great awareness of your game and showed the boys how to get it done. 10 Tilly Berry The Eveready bunny. It took a while to control that excitement and energy and put it to good use. The Toughest kid I have come across in a while. 11 Tristan Mitrevski Has everything all the passion, skills and speed needed to be a super player. Hungry and drive are in our sights, keep the angry switch ON! 12 Dhruv Bhatia A Great player with abundance of skills, using your team mates will only make you a better player. Look up and Live!! 10 Blue Wombats Coach: Brett Lombe & Nathan Ashworth Manager: Nadia Dore Players Player: Isaac Ayoud The highlights of the season were: Coach confusing players with instructions between Isaac s and Amelia s. Nicknames were introduced :P Scoring some great goals and down the other end Chris making some top saves! The Team Name Commentary 1 Isaac Ayoub New to the team and always at training and first at the field on gameday. Isaac played striker mostly scoring plenty of goals and improved throughout the season. A team player who well deserved being awarded this year s Player s Player! Congratulations Isaac! A player to watch in the near future!! 2 Adrian Carbone Even though Adrian is a good defender, he enjoys playing striker and scoring goals rather than just defending them. Adrian has been with the team for a while now and is a core player for the team. Never scared to take on an opponent and communicates well to his team mates. 3 Luca Dore Luca has been the heart of the team this year and the other players looked up to him (not just because Luca is the tallest). Luca is our strongest defender who reads the play well. A decent kicker who can clear the ball with one kick into a counter attack for our team. Another good season Luca! 4 Alex Elhelou A polite and respectful player who is new to the team and loves being up front. Weaving through the opposition, Alex either scored or assisted in scoring goals. Alex has fitted into the team well, you wouldn t think this was his first season with the team. Good season Alex, well done! 5 Matteo Forzisi Matteo is a real character! Whether winning or losing, he just wants to play soccer and be with his friends! I don t even think Matteo knows what the score is most of the time as he just enjoys playing and having fun. Matteo no matter how good you get, never lose this attitude of enjoyment! 6 Amelia Hastilow Amelia s first season playing soccer and she is a pleasure to coach. Even though Amelia couldn t make it to training she improved throughout the season. Amelia felt most comfortable playing in midfield but also had a go at striker. Amelia, I hope you enjoyed your soccer and play again next season!! 7 Isaac Kerry From being our star goal keeper a couple of seasons ago to a central position player on the field. Either centre defender or centre midfielder or striker, Isaac has proven to be a dependable player in any of these key positions. 36

8 Nicholas Larsen Nick is our all-rounder as he can play all positions well and does it with a smile. A consistent player who has defended well in the back line but also made some great runs down the side line in attack. 9 Amelia Lowe Back for a 2 nd season with us and brought her best friend to join the team too. It was good to see Amelia help Amelia H. on the field, since she had never played before. Amelia is a polite young lady who gets in and has a go. Well done Amelia! 10 Alessio Madau Nicknamed the little Italian stallion as he never stops running and always wants to be in the action. Alessio loves his soccer and celebrating after scoring! Missed out on part of season due to an overseas holiday but Alessio is another player to look out for in the near future as his skills increase! 11 Jack Miller Jack is new to the team and you can easily see how much he loves being in a team and getting out on the field whether at training or match day. Jack has been a pleasure to coach as he is polite, listens and gives his best. 12 Christopher Savva A team player who enjoys playing with his team. Chris has volunteered to play in goals numerous times and pulled off some great saves. We try to share the goalkeeping duties which can be hard but Chris makes my job easier when he volunteers even though he has already had his turn. Thank you Chris! 10 Blue Kookaburras Coach: Ian Butler Manager: Christine Hutchinson Players Player: Emma Buckley Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Forfeits Coach s Note: The development of this bunch of kids has been awesome to witness this year. Their exuberance for the game keeps me coming back each week to try and train them with something new and different from the book each week. This was the year the penny dropped in how to maintain a position in play to keep the field covered in both attack and defence. A great year had by all, with an unlucky break for 2 of the team having to come to matches or training just to watch, due to injuries ending their season early. Congratulations again to all players on having such season of improvement. Each player in the team again displaying great sportsmanship and respect of the opposition, they have maintained a great attitude. Big thanks again to Christine for managing the kids and keeping me on track. Manager s Note: Thanks to all the parents for your assistance at training with both support and encouragement of the kids to try harder each week. 37

Thank you coach and assistants for your dedication to the team, the kids and parents all appreciate your efforts. We are getting better each game and to have such a great bunch of kids who have fun every week whether they win lose or draw. The Team Name Commentary 1 Melissa Angel Mel has a preference for midfield and has improved her skills well in her second year with the team. Passing accuracy has also improved. 9 Luka Plavsic Luka set up many and even scored a few goals. He still has the strongest kick on the team and can position the ball beautifully off a corner or free kick. He had a shorter season due to injury (he broke his arm, at school not soccer). It will be great to have him back in Chloe Puckeridge Chloe is improving and is great in defence, which is her preferred position in the back line. She has good footwork and takes the ball from the opposition regularly to turn it around and take off up the field. 11 Charlie Wills Charlie has shown he can improve with his ball skills each week and has shown tremendous improvement during the season. Loves to play anywhere on field but prefers to be up front attacking the goal. 38

Coach: Assistant Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: Ludwig Rivas Malcolm Bideau Nancy Rivas Matthew Dominis 11 Red Koalas Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against Commentary Well, what a year! Despite a lack of competitive teams in the first half of the season, our boys unbeaten run was threatened on more than one occasion as teams warmed to the challenge during the second half of the season. Despite the challenges the boys emerged unbeaten! Winning all their games in what I can only describe as an amazing run. This feat didn t happen by fluke, as the boys worked hard all season giving their all during training and pre - season. Despite acquiring 6 new players the team functioned well as if they had been playing together for a while. This was made easy by the fact that coaches and manager had the full support of the parents which was extremely important to our success. A huge thanks to Malcolm, our co-coach and Nancy, (the engine behind the machine!) our manager as our success would be limited without them. Overall as coaches and manager we feel extremely proud of what the boys have achieved as these sort of seasons don t happen often. Fantastic job boys!!!! The Team Name Commentary 1 Elias Tahhan As one of our younger members of the team Elias displayed an ability to be able to cope with all challenges thrown his way. His never give up attitude held him in good stead throughout the season. Well done Buddy! 40

2 Anthony Battiato As one of the new additions to the team we held high expectations for Anthony and he didn t disappoint, helping the team on the scoresheet on many occasions and setting up many more. Great season mate! 3 Toby McLean Yet another new addition to the team this quiet achiever went from strength to strength! His skill level certainly went North and his confidence within the team followed, becoming a vital figure in our squad. Outstanding! 4 Matthew Dominis A tremendously determined individual who is extremely hard on himself especially when he thinks he has let the team down, however always giving his all and never disappointing in his efforts! Fantastic season! It s no surprise that the players chose him as the player s player! Well deserved Matty! 5 Billy Solomon The Billy Terrier! Always giving his all, Billy has become a valuable member of the team, his eagerness to please did not go unnoticed as wherever he played he did his best. Excellent job! 6 Phoenix Bideau Amongst the young brigade, Phoenix has more than held his own. His hard work during the season paid dividends during the year making him a vital member of our defence! Good season mate! 41

7 Cohen Browning Despite his injuries, Cohen made valuable contributions to our team. Pushing through the pain barriers he made every minute count. Making some great combinations with his new team mates. Fantastic effort mate! 8 Isaiah Rivas Another young member of the team Isaiah rose to the challenge. Despite his size his tenacity spoke volumes and created many scoring opportunities for his team mates. Always giving his all he proved to himself and others that he belongs in the team. Good job Isaiah! 9 Luca De Angelis A prolific goal scorer! Luca enjoyed a fantastic season. Despite being our main striker Luca proudly made a great season even better when he showed he could also provide his team mates with goal scoring opportunities. Maturity beyond his years! Great work Luca! 10 Jerome Moussa As another addition to the team Jerome fit like a glove, showing his goal keeping skills and value as an on field player, helping others around him as he took responsibility as one of the team leaders. Great work J! 11 Isaac Rivas A no nonsense defender who showed he has a great ability to lead without words and more with actions. His continuous breaking up of our opposition s attacks helped the team to achieve their unbeaten streak. Fabulous season! 12 Oliver Hayes A versatile member of the team. Ollie did his work without fuss! As one of our goal keepers he showed massive improvement from the previous year, and as a player he matured beyond imagination. A great season Ollie! Coach: Manager: Best & Fairest: Season Summary: 11 Blue Emus Tim Croft Melanie Lucas Lucas Smallwood (For consistency, sportsmanship and fair play) Played Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: It was another great season for the U11 s Emus. Unfortunately, we said good -bye to our past coach of 4 years, Brad to work commitments, and welcomed Coach Tim to tackle the position. With a different coaching style and new players, Ethan, Joseph and Josh, all the boys had to readjust playing techniques and positions. We hit the fields at the start of the season with several convincing wins. As the season continued, the opposition found their groove. We were lucky to come away with a win in a couple of close games. Rather than have set positions, Coach Tim tested the team in different positions all season. Some players showed the ability to adjust and others preferred a set position. However, all players agreed that they did learn to play both defence and attacking plays. The team continued to play well all season but lost a bit of momentum towards the end. Sickness and injuries occurred and a big thank-you to younger players from U8/U9 s who stepped up to help us on field. It s our last year before full field and the dreaded offside rule. Train hard during the off-season boys and see you all again next year. Go Nania!!!! 42

The Team Name Commentary 1 Adam Callicetto Adam came out of defence and into attack and scored his first goals. Adam settled into a change of position with quick breaking runs and positional play. Adam improved his tackling skills and ball control. Awesome improvement. 2 Luca Croft Luca preferred to play mid-field. Having a great kick, the ball was cleared quickly but was missed at season end with a broken toe. Luca consistently positioned the play around the goal mouth, looking for a team mate to score. 3 Joseph Iskander As a new teammate playing up from U10 s, Joseph took the game to players who were older. He showed great ball control and tackling skills and was able to nab a sneaky goal or two when the opposition wasn t looking. Well Done. 4 Sean Lucas Mid-field and striker were Sean s preferred positions but he was also handy in defence. Sean was always lurking around the top of the goal square looking for the quick pass or break and goal. 5 Joshua McGregor Averaging 1 or two goals a game, Josh showed how well he could play in the attacking position. Josh was quick to work out the opposition play and steal the ball when in a tackle. Quick feet and awesome play! 6 Ethan Mosely A new team player who was quite happy to play as our goal keeper. Ethan showed excellent goal keeping skills with many excellent diving saves. Welcome to the team and thanks for all your hard work. 7 Andy O Neill Right in the centre of the field was Andy s preferred spot in attack and defence. Andy was quick to break the opposition attack and to move the ball up field. Teaming with attack players his kicking was pin point accurate. 8 Andrew Papadopoulos A bit of a sweeper with skills in attack and defence. Andrew focused on not giving up and chasing the opposition into the sidelines. He was rewarded with a number of goals. His consistency for improved fitness showed. Good Stuff! 9 Aaryan Raghav Aaryan moved to right wing and showed great improvement in attack play. He was successful in many sliding tackles, stealing the ball with ease. Aaryan focused on quick ball movement up the sidelines. Great work. 10 Lucas Smallwood 11 Brennan Thompson Quiet and consistent is Lucas. He is great as a wing-player, quickly able to move the ball to goal. His highlight this year was a goal in the first 19 secs from kick-off which became a hat trick for the game. Great Work! Our smallest player who always packed a punch. Brennan was consistent in defence and showed the ability to read the attacking play. Many times, the ball was cleared by Brennan charging it down. Awseome Stuff! 43

Grade 12 Division 2 Coach: George Pizanis Manager: Tina Panagakis Players Player: The whole team Season Summary: Played Byes Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against Report As a coach, the players taught me a very valuable lesson Never Give Up something similar was taught to me as a player. It shows somethings never change. In my opinion, all the players in the team are winners, although some results did not go our way, they still showed up to training wanting to learn more and see what they can get away with. The biggest highlights were: o Seeing all the players eager to get on the field, o Players trying their individual skills both in defence and in attack, o Top goals scored by Kamran, Anton, Sarah, Jordan and John, o Brilliant team play, in which the whole team attacked and defended together o Both Felix and John pulling off some great saves as goalkeepers A big thank you to the Tina (Team Manager) for her support this season. In closing, I would like to thanks to the parents and the players for their support for Also, a big thank you the players, for making me see the bigger picture and wanting to coach again. I hope to have the same team in 2018, but this time training will start early in the season, to enhance our individual skills and set moves. The Team Name Commentary 1 Brendan Allport Brendan played as a Defensive Midfielder and as a Fullback. Managed to pull of some great defending tackles, which stopped the opposition dead in their tracks when they attacked our goals. 2 Felix Ballantine- Jones Felix has the natural raw talent as a goalkeeper and is able to play on the field up front. Felix spent most of his time in goals and took a shine to being the custodian of the goals. Every time he was in goals, he would put his body on the line, to ensure there would be less goals scored against us. 3 Jake Boceski Jake was a utility player who played as a Forward, Midfielder or in Defence. Jake came close to scoring this season, but was more utilised as a defensive midfielder, who formed a great partnership with John in the back. Jake s running ability was put to good use in defence. 4 Oliver Brodie Oliver played as a Fullback and then switched to a Forward. Oliver has the ability to play in both roles, but prefers to attack. He showed why during the season, coming close to scoring. Every time Oliver played up front, he would put the opposition fullbacks under enormous pressure. 5 Arki Gasteratos Arki has the ability to play either as a Fullback or his preferred position as a Midfielder. Arki enjoyed taking on any opposition in either position but found more joy in attacking the oppositions goal and coming very close to scoring. 6 Jordan Hannaoui Jordan played as a Central Midfielder and as a Forward. Jordan is very dangerous when he attacks, by making sure he sends the opposition on the wrong direction, which has allowed him to score two goals this season. Came close to increasing his tally but was denied. Jordan was able to support all players around him in both attack and defence. 45

7 Luke Helais Luke played mainly as a Forward. Luke close to scoring on several occasions. Filled in as Fullback when required. Luke supported the midfielders when required in attack. 8 Zac Helais Zac played as a Midfielder and Fullback. Zac had the ability to defend in either the middle third or back third of the park. Always supporting his team mates in both attack and in defence. 9 Harrison Kay Harrison played as a Forward this season. Towards the end of the season he was coming good. Harrison s target was to score one goal, and nearly achieved this goal on several attempts. Harrison managed to pull of some good defensive tackles, against the run of play. 10 Kamran Kumar Kamran has the ability to played as a Midfielder or as a Forward. Enjoying running with the ball, taking on the opposition and encouraging his team mates. This season scored three goals. On some occasions, he would drop right back to help the fullbacks and when he got the ball, he would try his luck on taking on the opposition. 11 Sarah Larkin Sarah played in several positions, being as a Forward, Midfielder or Defender. Sarah is a very keen player and can adapted to either role quickly. She had come close to scoring more than one goal this season and has made some memorable defensive tackles as the last line of defence. 12 Dimitri Panagakis 13 Anton Petrovski Dimitri played as a Fullback, Midfielder and then as a Forward. Dimitri did prefer to attack but also dropped back to help in defence when required. Came close to scoring on several occasions but was denied by the opposition goal keeper. Was not scared to take on the opposition with the ball and was also able to catch the opposition sleeping in defence. Anton was our Central Midfielder, who tried to be the little general on the field. He is a robust player who would enjoy running with the ball and taking on the opposition defenders, which resulted in a goal. Would always drop back to ensure our fullbacks were not caught out. 14 John Pizanis John played this season as a Defensive Midfielder, Fullback and Goalkeeper. Was able to pull off some great tackles in the back third of the field, and at the same time made dangerous runs with the ball into the oppositions strong hold. Scored a goal from a free kick this season unlike anything he has done in the past. Just missed a goal from an unsuspected volley from half way. 15 Jacob Wills Jacob played this season mainly as a Midfielder and on some occasions as a Forward. Jacob was able to support the players around him in both attack and in defence. Sometimes dropped right back to ensure goals would not be scored against us. 46

Comment It was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to coach this great bunch of kids again. We entered our first year of competition soccer, and what a season we had. The side is made up of 9 boys and 5 girls. This being the most mixed team in the competition. I m so proud of each and every player and for their individual role in the success of our side. There is no one player responsible for our success. There is an entire team of 14 hardworking and committed boys and girls working for each other. I have loved watching the growth and development of each player, and have always respected the sportsmanship and attitude they bring to training and game day. Throughout the season they showed their desire to learn and this brought success. We had a great season winning both the minor premiership and premiership. Everyone played huge role in the team s success, always giving 100% and supporting their teammates. I d like to thank Kim for her tireless efforts in organising the team. She s always making sure everything runs smoothly. I couldn t do what I do if it wasn t for Kim, so thank you very much. Another big thank you to the parents who have always supported me and the side. Having a great sideline definitely spurred on the team. What an awesome season! Congratulations everyone. I hope you will all be returning next year to defend your premiership win! Joel (Coach) 49

Getting to the grand final was a very proud moment for all of us. However, my proudest moment of seeing and learning how much ability each and every player displayed even though we were riddled with injuries and illnesses. The effort and determination to be competitive and play to the end was admirable to say the least. Even though we lost to our local derby rivals in the last minute of the game it was a very enjoyable and memorable game. Back to the team of Brave hearts. It took us several weeks to work out player positions and cohesion. But once they got used to their role and understood to some degree as to what was going on we watched many entertaining games where they impressed us with their passing ability. We are probably one of the smallest teams in size but one of the largest team in ticker. In addition to this was the parents who were very supportive and were pleased to see their children spend as much time as possible away from the electronic devices! Our first year with Panania RSL. I volunteered to coach at the last minute due to nobody else putting their hand up. I m so glad I did, it was so great to see the girls improve, learn their positions and come together as a team. We played the season with 9 players for most of the year, which meant in most games- no reserves! We played SSG, no competition and no ladder for most of the season, thinking there would be no finals. At the last minute, BDAFA decided to schedule finals and put up a ladder, and we finished the season second. In the semi-final, we played Bankstown Sports A, 1v2. The girls played a great game, going down in extra time 3-2, the girls did so well, most of them playing for 70 minutes. We won the final 4-1 and were looking forward to taking on Bankstown Sports A again in the Grand Final. Unfortunately, I had a holiday booked and couldn t be at the Grand Final. My son, Blake, who had been Assistant Coach all year, stepped up to the challenge and coached for the big occasion. I was on a cruise, getting a kick by kick account from my older daughter. After the first 3 minutes, I was almost in tears, it was 2-0.(not our way), after 7 minutes, it was 3-0! I felt bad for our girls and for Blake, but thankfully they pulled their socks up and made a comeback by half time to 3-2, which ended up being the final score. Although they had chances to score, it wasn t to be and the girls did an amazing job to keep the score at 3-2. What a great season, Blake and I had an enjoyable year coaching this great group of girls. Emma played Right mid wing, she was determined to get every ball, running up and down the sideline in attack and defence. Scored some great goals, especially one with her left foot and never gave up. Bree Little Bree played both in the forwards and backs. She did a great job scoring some wellplaced goals. Sarah was our girly girl of the side who towards the back of the season, put her hand up to be our goalie. She did a great job and also scored her first goal. Emily played Left mid wing. Emily did a great job scoring some good goals and helping our backs in defence. Hayleigh our energizer bunny. She played up and back and all over the field, we could always rely on Hayleigh to celebrate when a goal was scored. Alyssa One of the 2 girls in the team to be able to kick with both feet. Alyssa played well in the backs. Teegan Our teams Centre mid fielder. What a season, Teegen went from strength to strength, attacking, defending and always doing her best to help the team. Teegan scored some excellent goals this season. Soleil did a great job in Centre back, she organised the backs and cleared the ball when needed. Ruby my little girl, the other player in the team who can kick with both feet. She did a great job for her first season of soccer. Abbie our fix it player, Abbie was able to play in any position and did a great job. A big thanks also goes to Deb, our manager. Thank you for your help throughout the season, you did such a great job organising the girls and their parents. No.1 Manager. 51

Grade 13 Division 1 Coach: Brent Klinker Manager: Kelly Carter Players Player: Blake Woods Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against Report: This season proved to be a difficult one for our u13 s team. It was a new team formed with majority of boys moving up from div 2. We came up against some stiff opposition and although they tried week in and week out we struggled on the field and only won a couple of games. A big thank you to Brent for taking the boys on and coaching them this year, their fitness definitely improved as we trained twice a week, the boys enjoyed having Brent share his knowledge of the game and he taught them a few of his skills on the field. Well done to Andre, who was our top goal scorer for the team and Beau did a great job captaining the team, he led by example on the field. Blake was our player s player never giving up, he played in the backs and came up against boys a lot bigger than him but that never stopped him from chasing and tackling. Unfortunately we lost a few boys to injuries during the season and although we started with 14 most weeks we played without reserves. A big thank you to Mason & Bailey (U 12 s team) for filling in for us at the tail end of the season. A big thank you for all the parents support and their efforts getting the boys to training and games each week. It was a pleasure being involved with such a great bunch of kids and I admire their attitudes and their resilience turning up each week and giving their all. Hope they still enjoyed the season. They played extremely well in the Final and only went down by 1 goal. The highlight of the season for me as coach was watching the team starting to consistently pass the ball and understanding their positions, this allowed for a great flow of the game and an awesome team spirit. All of the team showed improvement which made me proud to be their coach. This year s player of the season is Tahlia Gow, her tenacious tackling and never say die attitude was a standout. Rachel- our Goalie did an awesome job saving many goals and always doing it with a smile on her face. This year s major goals scorers were Lainey, Amy, Paris and Tamara, they did a great job up front scoring goals with the support of our mid fielders Breana, Carly, Jade and Elle Our defensive players- Georgia, Tahlia, Grace, Tash, Hannah, Viviana, Carly all put in a massive effort throughout the year making sure we only conceded 16 goals. New to the team were Ella, Tamara, Viviana, Clarissa, Jade and Carly, all settled in well to the team and played in the true Panania Diggers spirit. Looking forward to coaching the team in Chad Grade 14 Division 1A Minor Premiers and Premiers Coach: Anthony Costa and Brendan Tonks Manager: Wayne Waud Players Player: Jaxon Russo and Ben Gallagher 53

Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The Team Jonathan Annis Daniel Aquilina Ben Gallagher Justin Green Liam Hewitt Tom Lindsay- Michael Lukasiewicz Joshua Martin Eschbank Ethan Micallef Antonio Mira Joel Ormerod Jaxon Russo Jonathan Stavridis Isaac Tahhan Julian Toubia Bryce Waud Report What an incredible season it has been. Two years of enthusiasm, dedication, motivation and consistent hard work has paid off and we have finally accomplished the ultimate goal the boys set for themselves alongside Tonksy, Wayno and myself, and what a beautiful sense of accomplishment it has been! The season started off with selecting a group of players which we believed were most capable of forming positive relationships and a sense of mateship on and off the field. Unfortunately, we may have done this a little too well as trying to get the boys to be quiet and focus at training was not a minor task. In saying this, when the boys did listen, focus and put their minds on the task at hand, the results were awesome to watch, and I imagine even more enjoyable being on the field playing. Our goals this season were to win the grand final and make Champion of Champions. The boys managed to get Minor Premiers, Premiers and to the second round of Champion of Champions. This was a huge accomplishment for the boys and we couldn t be prouder of a well deserving, hard working team. A big thank you to all the parents that attended ground duty to help out and all the supporters that came to watch these Panania Diggers play with their heart on their sleeve. Last but not least, thank you boys for listening, and forever pushing yourselves to get where we are today. Improvement has been clear in every one of you throughout the season and this is why we get to defend the premiership next year! You boys should be very proud of yourselves. GO THE DIGGERS!! 55 Coach: Assistant Coach: Manager: Players Player: Most Improved: Season Summary: Grade 14 Division 1B Perry Skotoris Travis Griffith Cassandra Wedgwood Harry Macreadie Cameron Daly. Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against Report: With the boots hung up for another season, it is time to reflect on what turned out to be a difficult season for the 14 1Bs. After making the semis in Div 2 last year, we were quietly confident that we could be a force to be reckoned with in Div 2 again this year. However, our confidence was very short lived as the powers that be decided that there would only be 2 divisions this year instead of 3 and bumped us up to Div 1 as we had made the top 4 last year. Whilst we never gave up, it was clear early on that we were up against some pretty tough opposition and we just couldn t match the skill level of some of the teams. Div 1 is there for a reason and it was disappointing that we were put there pretty much against our will. That being said, I m sure the experience of Div 1 will help to make us a much stronger, more competitive side next year hopefully back down in Div 2! It is wonderful to be associated with such a fantastic bunch of kids who try their hardest each and every time they take the field. Win, lose or draw they are always so supportive of one another and each and every player should be extremely proud of their efforts both individually and as a team. To our super coach Perry, thank you for giving your all again this season. We know it was difficult at times but at the end of the day we all walked away with a smile on our faces knowing we had tried our best. We really do appreciate the time you dedicate to coaching this team and we hope we made you proud. To Travis, our assistant coach, thank you for your guidance and direction throughout the season. We hope we made you proud too! To all of our parents, grandparents, family members and friends who came along each week, thank you for supporting us. We know there wasn t a lot to cheer about this year, but we will come back bigger and stronger next season and we hope that you re all on the sideline again when we do! See you all next year. Cassandra Wedgwood (Manager) The Team Name Commentary 1 Benjamin Wedgwood 2 Jack Wedgwood Another great season as a hardworking mid fielder. Scored a cracking goal and used both feet well to kick the ball out of harm s way on numerous occasions. A reliable back up keeper again when needed. Another fabulous season where he never stopped running. Poached a few goals from the opposition and managed to score 4 of his own. 3 Alex Stengos Scored 2 goals and displayed great skills up front despite playing against better organised defences in a higher division. 4 Harry Macreadie Talk about a hidden talent!! Out of the blue Harry put his hand up to take over the goalkeeping duties this season and did a remarkable job. Made plenty of great saves and is our very deserving players player this year. 5 Kris Skotoris Another great season in defence. Always had plenty to do and did a great job, particularly with his accurate kicks from set plays. 6 Jason Parmaxidis 7 Billy Diakovasilis 8 Jaydon Giesekam Another terrific season in defence and if there s another player in the game who can throw as far as him, I d like to meet them! Another strong season in defence. One of our speedy backs who marked well and always made life difficult for the opposition forwards. We missed Jaydon greatly whilst he enjoyed a fabulous overseas holiday with his family but he was such a strong and hardworking player in the games he did play. 55

9 Amelia Holden We missed Amelia this season through illness but hope she will be back with us again next year. 10 Luke Wedgwood Luke s previous Div 1 experience was of great benefit this season as he was able to match it against the oppositions strongest players. A very valuable player across the park. 11 Cameron Daly A fabulous season of great improvement. Made important contributions in the midfield and was this seasons most improved player. 12 Tommi Vesanen 13 Govardhan Bharadwaj Enjoyed playing on the field after escaping from goalkeeping duty and made valuable contributions on the field. A key member of our defence who read the play very well. Very strong in the air and was fabulous in goals when required. 14 Kailen Antoun A new member to our team this season who proved to be a great acquisition. His previous Div 1 experience again was invaluable and he was a very reliable defender with a big heart. 15 Joanna Ioakimidis Another one of our new team members who showed excellent skills and strength up front. She did not shy away from the big hits either! Our highest goal scorer this year with 5 great goals to her name. 16 Vinit Nikam Our newest team member who displayed great skills in both defence and attack and who worked tirelessly throughout each game. 57 Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: The improvement we displayed following a disappointing first 3 rounds 9 different goal scorers this season, from forwards, midfield & fullbacks The support & caring shown by all for your team-mate in time of need The Team Name Commentary 1 Jacalia Fenton An unfortunate season cut short by illness this year hindered your progress. However you always tried, never complained, and was always there to provide support to her team mates, cannot ask any more of you than that. 2 Kyle Ferguson Well we finally found you a position where your skills of running around worked, Central Midfield. Your ability to keep going and win the 50/50 challenges this year was great. Very strong through the entire year. 3 James Hewit What a different kid turned up to play this season. From the start of the year your performances have been consistent and at times outstanding. You have taken huge steps this year and developed into a real quality Central defender 4 Chloe Johnson A change of position did not hinder you too much this year, a lot of real positives to take away. In a back 3 you re tackling and speed was a real asset which you then put to great use by linking with players ahead. Great effort. 5 Tara Kayatz- Monohan A real break out season this year. Whilst that timid shy girl may exist off the park, the tenacity that you display fighting for the ball appears to be another person altogether. A real solid performance all year round well done. 6 Rachel Lombe Miss Reliable again. Another who always put in all year round, and never one to let your team mates guess what you were thinking either. A great motivator on the park always, solid as ever in the back. Great performance. 7 Eva Lozanovska You turned in some very good performances this season. Your great ability to hold the ball up in general play was very pleasing to see. If we can get your fitness level up slightly expect your improvement to be even greater. 8 Jonathan Patti Slotted into the team nicely and found a home in the central midfield. Great vision on the ball, and really developed some nice combinations with your team mates through the middle of the park. All round a very solid season. 9 Hannah Siddons What are year, you certainly took your performance last year and took it to an even higher level. Solid in the back or midfield never disappointed. You should be very proud of your efforts this season, a very big improver this year. 10 Noah Siddons Playing more up front this season suited you. Trust your ability more and your instincts and the results will come. Effort is always there along with your drive for success. Keep up the effort and training and you will reap the rewards. 57

11 Kayse Webb Achieved your "dream move" into the middle of the midfield and what a move it was. Your zeal to win that ball from the opposition was tremendous this year and made a great partnership with your midfield chums. Great year all round. 12 Lachlan Widdicombe Wow, who knew that when you said you would like a run on the field we would discover a booming outfield player. You impressed us all with your efforts this season, never giving up and always willing to listen to advice. 13 Joshua Wills Short on stature but big on heart. You played this season without fear, always finding yourself tackling the biggest opponent on the park. Continued to improve all season long, excellent ball skills and developing a nice cross too. 14 Logan Marshall Huge effort displayed each week as you would regularly run yourself to a standstill, could not ask any more of you. Great skill in holding up the ball and uncanny ability to slot the pass through. Scored "first ever" goal this season. 15 Daniel Ford A brilliant lawn bowler but an even better goal keeper. Pulled off some amazing saves and normally would win most one-on-one challenges. Also provided solid support on the field too. Be proud of your season, well done. Overall Following last season s results and our planning being based around enjoying another season as a Div. 3 team, our mates at BDAFA had a different idea and slotted us into a Div. 2 competition. Our first three games produced an obvious concern with us conceding 24 goals there alone. Obviously we needed to change something so after some gentle contemplation a formation change and some tweaking of positions, and what was initially a gamble slowly but surely produced the results and team work for which we had been looking for. We were not the biggest team but what we lacked in size we made up for in speed so playing to these strengths, the team really did manage to produce great efforts against the top sides in this competition. Firstly Melissa, Brett and I would like to congratulate each one of you for your efforts this season, you go out each week and put in the effort until the final whistle and regardless of the result you still encourage each other. Next, a big & heartfelt thank you to the parents, grandparents, family & friends of the team who each week come along and provide vocal support to the team, your encouragement does make a difference to the entire team, so many thanks. And finally a huge thanks to Brett & Melissa who have provided myself with endless support and made this journey a lot easier and a lot more fun. Hope to see you all back next year. 58

Grade 15 Division 1 Premiers Coach: Jay Smith/Steve Williams Manager: Guy Serra/Jason Giannopoulos Players Player: The Whole Team Season Summary: Games Bye Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against The Team Joshua Adams Zach Bowmaker Zachary Gadsden Matthew McGlynn Zachary Pernice Emanuele Serra Beckham Smith Andre Stojanovski Garrick Tischler Phillip Tosevski Hayden Whitney Lachlan Williams Luke Williams Jorge Zafiropoulos Season Summary: I have coached these boys for a few years now and have had many proud moments but none more than this season. We started with 13 players which at that stage was always going to be tough knowing from last season s team we lost Jason to an ACL injury which put him out for the year and Ricardo to Bankstown United (well done Ricardo), so we were looking to add a couple of new players to our team and were very lucky to get Andre Stojanoski who came back this year after a stint at Bankstown City & Rockdale Suns which was a Massive signing for us and we also acquired Josh Adams this year which was another Massive signing, along with the existing 11 players from last season we would have a strong team to work with. We started the season a little slow with some mixed results and then we had Matt McGylnn break his arm and Luke with a knee injury which soon had us playing the next 8 or so weeks with the bare 11 players and at some stages

The turning point in our season this year was the State Cup, after entering early in the season I did have my doubts about playing in it being at this stage we only had the bare 11 players best case scenario but the boys were up for the challenge so we gave it a crack and OMG what a crack we gave it, this really was the turning point in our year with the boys really understanding what a quality football team they were when challenged by teams that were much stronger than we were used to playing in the regular season, first was Hills Hawks and after 5 minutes we knew we were in for a tough day but played some great football and won 4-1, next up was Auburn FC who came with quite a reputation, after 10 minutes it was 1-1 then we turned it on, final score 6-1, we were off to the Quarter finals against arguably the favourites to win the Cup, St Pats, after 12 minutes we were down 0-2 and Lachie was playing on one leg, after making some adjustments the boys settled in to the game and half time was 0-2, game ended 2-2 after extra time and some outstanding goal keeping by Zac Pernice and brilliant penalties saw us win the penalty shootout and the boys were in the final 4 teams in the State Cup, we met Lilli Pilli in the Semi Final who we bowed out to 0-2 but I could not of been prouder of the boys and the game was played in great spirit and some bloody great Football was played which was witnessed by our huge crowd that came down to watch which was amazing to see the support from the club and a big mention to our Premier League boys who came in numbers, Lilli Pilli could not believe the support from our club at their home ground, great effort by all. Back to the regular season and after the confidence gained from State Cup there was nothing that was going to stop us (although a few tried) from going on to win the Premiership which we did in style winning the Major Semi 4-1 then the Grand Final 4-0, job done!!! I realise it is cliché but there is no way I could name a Players Player in this team, all 13 boys were absolutely fantastic all year, yes there were some outstanding individual efforts, e.g. our skipper scoring a hat trick in a Grand Final, well done Josh Adams but I would much rather focus on these boys commitment to one another during the year, boys missing weekends at the snow because they knew we only had 11 players (Thanks Zac G), also Lachie missing an important family function and many others playing injured and I MEAN injured, these boys have a bond like none other and it is an absolute pleasure to be a part of their life s. Well done boys on a great season and Winning the Grand Final in the way we knew we could, in style. I would like to thank Steve, Guy and Jason for all your time this year, also to Brett Pernice and Kyle Whitney for their help in preseason training and also Nathan Adams was always there to train the boys when I couldn t and bounce ideas off at the same time, another thanks to Brett Pernice for all the running around you did to doctors and physios to keep our boys on the park, I mean it when I say we could not have won it without your help, also to my mum and dad for washing the shirts every week and to all the other Parents/grandparents and siblings for all your support during the year, you were all very much a big part of a very successful season. 61 Grade 15 Division 2 Coach: Stuart McFadden and Harry Sotiropoulos Manager: Rondell McWilliams The Team Ethan Black Lachlan Fitzgerald Connor Hains Blake Harris Harry Houllis Mark Houllis Michael Janceski Jackson Lake Tainui McFadden Kade McWilliams Alexander Peli Max Simpson Jenna Sotiropoulos Christian Trajkovski Benjamin Widdicombe Report: Well what a season!!! We started with 15 players and ended up with the bare minimum most weeks. This year was added with a few new team mates, some from previous years and some new. We have had the majority of these kids for the last 3 years and what a different team we have now, this gave us strength across the whole park. Through some hard training sessions where they were hammered by our fitness legend it definitely showed on the field. All the kids were in their perfect positions this year and they all had an amazing season. Tainui, Kade and Blake were our solid defence while Alex, Harry, Max, Jenna, Mark, Michael J and Lachie (Fitzy) ran their legs off in the mids. Chris and Jackson along with Ethan were up front keeping the opposition goal keeper busy, Connor was doing great until he was out for the rest of the season with a broken thumb in goals this meant that our other keeper Ben was a great find, pulling off some amazing saves at crucial times. At the end of the season, we had to fight hard to even make the semi-finals, but then we grinded our way to the GRAND FINAL, yep our little 15-2s that struggled to a win a game only a few years ago ended up being Runners up to a red hot opposition on the day. To be part of this team in any capacity is a pleasure and we hope all the kids come back next year as they are a great bunch of kids all willing to do their bit for each other on and off the field. A massive thankyou to our 2 coaches Harry and Daniel who have turned these kids into the team they are today, giving up their time week in week out, THANKS GUYS. To our amazing manager Ronnie who pulls us all together every week with what, where, when and how as well as giving those who need a serve a serve when nessasary. Ronnie you re the best!!!!!!! To our fitness boss Jacqui, thankyou for all your time, the time and effort you put in, it made a huge difference. Those hill runs paid off YAY Thanks also to Stuart, stirring the pot and keeping us very entertained in the coaches box...never a dull moment!!! Thanks Stu Lastly to our supporters, parents, grandparents & family thank you Until next year... VERY PROUD COACHES AND MANAGERS 61

Coach: Assistant Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: Karlo Taliana Zander Regan Belinda Cosgrove Jessica Mascaro Grade 16 Ladies Premiers Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against The highlights of the season were: Our best ever win over long-term Arch-rivals Birrong FC 6 goals to 1 during the regular season Seven clean sheets as well as the best For & Against of any team in the competition Premiers despite playing this year with a squad of mostly under-age players. The Team Name 1 Addy Winterstein 2 Michaela Cosgrove Commentary Addy is extremely fit and has become one of our most versatile players, being the only player this year that has played among the forwards, midfield or defence a luxury for any coach! Her ability to take on the defence with her speed and deceptive footwork makes her a valuable asset to our team. She scored the only goal in the GF Qualifier match five minutes before the close of extra time. Michaela is our pocket rocket. She is one of only three U14 s players in our squad. Her blistering pace in our central defence comes in very handy when trying to run down any breakaway attacks from the other teams. She is very courageous player never one to back down when challenging for the ball. 62

3 Sharnee Cosgrove 4 Emma Taliana One of the fittest players in the team, consistently getting through an incredible amount of hard work on the field whether playing in the midfield or in the backs. Sharnee is a real team player and a potential team leader always putting the team before herself. She has led most of our stretching exercises this year; she s a great trainer and easy to coach. Specialist left defender. Very solid player with no fear at putting her body on the line often against girls much bigger. While she may not have blistering pace, she reads the play very well and knows when to time her challenges. Emma has also been a very competent back-up GK. 5 Jaicy Regan One of our team leaders, Jaicy has been a steadying influence in our central defence/sweeper this year showing good composure when under pressure. Despite many other commitments outside soccer, Jaicy has still managed to back up week after week despite sometimes carrying the odd injury or muscle strain. I know Jaicy really enjoys playing soccer and she is always easy to train. A very supportive team player. 6 Ella Frazer One of our youngest players, but probably too good to play in the U14 s. Ella is regular on our left wing. She has one of the best passing techniques of the players within the team. While she may not have the speed of most wingers, she knows when to cut the ball back to her midfield support runners. A good listener and responds well to any feedback the result being much improvement from her throughout the year. 7 Jessica Mascaro Centre-midfield. Jessica gives our team plenty of starch in the middle of the field. She has a good soccer brain, along with strong ball skills and aggression. She displays good vision and is often found taking the ball forward as we mount our offensive plays. She maintains possession well and gives the team options from the middle. Jessica is a real leader having captained our team in some of our biggest clashes. 8 Loren Smith Loren is your genuine mid-fielder very skillful and quick with her turn on the ball. She is the best in the team at providing passing options for the player with the ball. She has found her place as our right mid-fielder, but has sometimes relieved at centre-mid. She s always busy in the middle, hard-working but never one to take the limelight. Loren is very easy to coach and she has been very supportive of our developing players. One of the most consistent players in our team this year. 63

9 Claudia Lattuga 10 Cecilia Thompson 11 Alana Herzog 12 Sophie Watts 13 Georgia Brito Super-competitive, enthusiastic and plenty of aggression. Playing most of the year as an attacking left mid-fielder, she has found recent form on the left wing. She always backs herself when challenging for the ball and has the incredible knack of touching the ball past her opponent at the very last moment. Claudia is very talented and one of those players that can turn a game in your favour. She takes on the defence with her speed and determination this year scoring 10 goals in the regular season. Cecilia has been a great addition to our squad this year. With our team lacking some firepower up front at the start of the year, she was asked to take on the striker position despite having previously played in a more defensive role at her previous club. Strong physically she is confident over the ball, has great foot skills and gets plenty of power behind her shots. Cecilia is our leading goal scorer in the regular season with 18 goals (that includes missing a month of football). Our regular goalkeeper from last year she responded to our SOS calls to return mid-season. Very vocal at the back, always giving positive encouragement to her team-mates. She plays with high intensity, even scoring a goal of her own when the gloves came off. Alana is such a great person to have around, always boosting team morale. From day one, we could see Sophie had a great attitude when she joined our squad this year. Having improved right throughout the season, she is not afraid to have a go, putting pressure on the opposition, chasing down any loose balls in the midfield. Very easy to coach. Her willingness to learn has seen her come along way this year. At the start of this season, Georgia was asked to trial in the forwards after having played more regularly as a midfielder or defender in previous years within the squad. Fast forward to now, she plays regularly at right wing and she is our third highest goal scorer with 9 goals in the regular season. Georgia also scored the winning goal in our Grand Final. Her speed and physical strength are her greatest assets she has occasionally relieved at striker. 14 Emma Wells Emma is a very solid player in our right defence but has also covered for us as a central defender when needed. She is one of our biggest improvers throughout the season, so much that she has forced herself into the starting side for some of our toughest games. Very quiet by nature, but still a good listener and a great team player. 15 Jemma Brooks 16 Rachel Lombe Jemma has adapted well this year playing in various positions despite having previously played as a right back. As the season progressed, she has improved so much with her involvement in the physical contests on the ball. She has shown a great deal of courage in taking on opponents much bigger than her. She has plenty of speed and a sound passing technique. I m sure that if Jemma continues to compete in the way she has so far this year, her best football lies ahead of her. Rachel has come through the grades with the Club in our mixed teams. One of our youngest players (eligible for U14s), this year has decided to hang out with the girls on Sundays. You won t get a better team player than Rachel she always puts the team before herself. One of only two genuine leftfooters in our squad, she has played many great games at left back and also covered for us as GK. Any lack of pace is made up for by her enthusiasm and physical style of play. Pleasant person to have in our squad. 64

Grade 16 Division 1 Coach: Shayne Puckeridge and Paul Bailey Manager: Alex Felici Players Player: Hayden Reynolds and Ben McGuire Leadership Group: Matthew Bailey, Matt Tone, Liam Puckeridge The highlights of the season were: Setting our start of season target to make the top 4 and making the Grand Final. Regular discussion on how we improve as a team. Strong bond between all players that was relevant win, lose or draw. The Team Name Commentary 1 Isaac Evans Great effort Fish. Issacs skills pushed us into that GF with superb saves in a penalty shootout in the major semi-final. You have the confidence & ability to rule the 18-yard box. 2 Matthew Bailey Half of the twin terriers at the back. Matt gave as good as what was dished out to him. We like to converse with Matthew as he always has a positive opinion & is looking out for the best attributes for the team. In the off season work on that left foot. 3 Ben McGuire The other half of the twin terriers. We believe 1 of the best seasons you have had so far. Has developed immensely since Ben 1 st started. Hence the reason for the player s player award. In the off season work on that left foot. 4 Kosta Savvas The quiet achiever of our team. Played up an age group to play with his mates. Unfortunately, sickness played an integral role in Kosta s efforts in the GF but on a full season basis was solid at the back. 5 Ryan Amy Captain. Fearless and always leads from the front with a positive attitude. Loves playing near Matt Loy as they can see what the other is going to do before they move. 65

6 Hayden Reynolds Hayden is the work horse in the centre that hates to give an inch to the opposition. He would literally run a marathon in each & every game. Strong on & off the ball to physically man handle the opposition central midfield. 7 Matthew Loy Cruelly robbed in the back end of the season by a broken collar bone. Courageously fought back from injury to make the GF. Playing against teenagers twice his size & doesn t back down. Sensational deft touches when on the ball. 8 Brad Cooper A high percentage of games this year Nugget was scoring from infront and tight acute angles that had failed him in previous years. Consistency and the ability to play with both feet will drastically improve his game. Has the speed and on his day, the confidence to wreak havoc on any team he plays against. 9 Christian Laidler Christian main attribute is his competitiveness. It s how you use your competitiveness and being smarter than the opposition is when Christian is at his best. 10 Dion Omeros Dion is the affinity of how to mould a better player into a great player. Dion only ever gave himself a harsh assessment and worked tirelessly on what Dion thought he was failing on in his game to make himself a better player. 11 Costa Kardoulias Costa played most the season with leg injuries. Costa played his best football towards the start of the season with some barnstorming runs and shots on goal. 12 Josh Collins Josh has the urge, will to win and goal scoring prowess. Unfortunately, Josh only played a handful of games as he broke his leg at the start of the season. You can always tell how much a player wants to win with his passion in the GF. The referee s always No Luke Kozlowski Luke s greatest attribute this year was his adaptability to move and adjust with whatever position he was played in. Luke was also a polite and attentive teenager that listened well to instructions. 14 Christian Felici Christian positional play and quick footwork stead him well on the right hand side of the middle of the park for the majority of the season that was cruelly taken away from him by a despicable act by an opposition player that virtually ended his year. Keep your chin up mate. We even heard your father say several times how well you were playing which is a first. 15 Matthew Tone Mr Bullshit. We love having you around. With a jovial act that picks everybody s spirits up off the field. On the field, the competitiveness and the never holds barred attitude leaves your side following and the opposition fearing. 16 Liam Puckeridge Finally something we said came to fruition. A hard off season and Liam came back fit and rearing to go. Let s get those fast twitch speed fibres working now that you are fit. A starter that virtually kicked everything except the corner post that took a bit of pressure off the main stayers in the first 10 minutes in the middle of the park. Has the soccer brain to confuse the opposition but needs the body to follow. Give yourself another hard off season. Comment: I said it before and I ll say it again, we couldn t have been prouder of where you all came from and what has been achieved this year. There comes a time in all your lives, be it now or in the near future, that you don t wish to converse with the older generation as you may think that you know it all. Unfortunately, we ll still be here guiding or trying to convince you on which direction is the correct path. 66

We did fall at the final hurdle, but that makes you want to win more, it burns and fuels the fire to train smarter, work harder and come closer together as a group, so that at the end of the day it takes your game to another level. A WINNER IS JUST A PROUD LOSER WHO NEVER STOPPED EVOLVING. GO PANANIA Grade 16 Division 2 Coach: Chris Tait and Daniel Tait Manager: Jo Ferguson Players Player: Robert Russell Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against The highlights of the season were: Undefeated Minor Premiers Where to start, first things first, we would like to commend each and every player on their efforts this year. All boys have shown maturity above and beyond their age and have been an absolute pleasure to coach. We had our ups and downs but managed to push through and grow as young men. Second, I d like to say a huge thanks to Jo our manager who is slowly learning the rules all due to playing herself. Without you these games would not happen. All the behind the scene work you put into this team is so greatful. From the two of us and I m sure all the boys and parents as well, keep it up we need you. Also like to thank Kaz as well for being Jo s rock this year, attending games she was unavailable for and doing what we couldn t. You were always there and put the boys on the park, so thank you. To all the parents, thank you so much for the continual support throughout the year. Without all of you, this would not have happened. You should all be proud of the young men you have raised. A quick brief, there were many ups and downs this year as all the boys are finding themselves and we managed to still build what we call a very strong unit and have made great friends throughout. This season we managed to go through the competition undefeated which is a great accomplishment on its own, so you should be proud of your efforts. This year we were the second half specialists, which as a coach is so frustrating but you all knew this and played on it. We would have done the same so we applaud you boys, well done. Unfortunately we did not manage to get the result we wanted and worked so hard all year for. All we can say, coming from experience, is that this will only make you all stronger and the want to win even stronger. Congratulations to all you boys, we are proud of each and everyone of you and look forward to seeing you all next year and go one better. The Team Name Commentary 1 Ethan Barnes Our captain for the year. Showed and lead from the front and carried a lot of weight on his shoulders. You did a great job steering the ship, well done and let s go one better next year. 2 Andre Cipri Our leading goal scorer this year and lost count on how many but great to see. Keep on listening and learning mate and those numbers will only improve. Great season mate, hope to see you again next year. 3 Cameron Driver Cam has been a part of the team since we took over. A player that really grew this year and started making his position as a goalkeeper his own, great season mate and hope to see you again next year. 67

4 Jonpierre Fatouleh 5 James Ferguson Jonpierre has been our quiet achiever over the past two years and is learning and improving each week. Keep up the hard work, you are a pleasure to coach. James had a slight position change this year and was hesitant at the start. You trusted your coaches and excelled again this year, well done! 6 Heath Gilliver Another new addition this year who showed how versatile you can be, played several positions and proved to dominate in all. Great season mate. 68

7 James Khoury James hates playing fullback as everyone knows, so we only played him there when needed and was solid as always. Didn t matter where you played mate you wore your heart on your sleeve and played your guts out, well done. 8 Mitchell Parsons What a season by Mitch, spent three quarters of it sick or injured but still was the fittest. Like last year mate you listened and learned and played like a champ. Well done. 9 Stefan Plavsic Suffered a broken foot just as the season started. We commend you on still showing up on weekends to support. Once fit and ready to come back, you again excelled and slotted straight into the team. Well done mate hopefully you get a full season next year. 10 Robert Russell Our Players Player which we chose but also your team mates. Shows the impact you had on the team. Another new player who adapted and also lead. Great season mate, hope to see you again next year. 11 Diogo Serra Not too much to say as you already know. You are an enormous asset to our team in defence and attack. Solid as a rock, week in and week out. Hope to see you again next year. 12 Ben Shears Finally scored!!! I think mum may have missed that one, just as well you got a couple more. Another great year Ben, you are a very wellmannered young man and the first person to shake our hand, first at training and first to message. Don t change mate, hopefully we see you again next year. 13 Kayne Sorenson 14 Stephen Stojcevski 15 Thomas Sullivan Our gentle giant! New bloke on the block, proved to be a great asset to the boys and stepped up when needed weather on or off the field. You showed maturity above your years. Keep it up mate. Another solid year by you Steph. Again moved around positionally but proved yet again we can put you anywhere and the job gets done. Great season mate and hopefully we see you next year. Tom was welcomed back this year and managed to net a few which was good to see. Hopefully has found himself with a great bunch of boys and hope to see you again next year. 16 Dylan Willis Another new addition to the team who proved what passion is. Played every position this year and was great at all. Week in and week out you put your body on the line. Great season mate. Grade 17/18 Division 1A Coach: Grant Hession Manager: Kim Hession Players Player: Joel McNamara and Sam Dib The Team Name Commentary 1 Riley Binnington Definitely had his best season yet and gave the opposition plenty to worry about with his speed and skill. A really talented player that has a bright future ahead. 69

2 Lucas Borg Our awesome goalie! Lucas joined the team this year and took on the role as goalie showing so much growth and improvement throughout the season. We were incredibly lucky to have him in the side. 3 Sam Dib We were so lucky when Sam decided to join our team this season. Sam is the hardest working player in the side and showed such commitment every game. He is a team player who also helped out other sides. 4 Alexander Fomin Alex was also new to the team this year and he managed to slot in beautifully. He is one of the fastest and strongest players out there who made life uncomfortable for the opposition. 5 Lachlan Gray Lachlan was a real speedster this season and was damaging up front when the ball made its way to him. Scoring many handy goals and also helping out other sides on many occasions. 6 Joel Hession Another player who always gives it 100%. Worked in the halves this season and showed how good ball control and skill can win challenges. Always available to support other sides. 7 Callum Lavin Brought plenty of guts and determination to Never backing down from any challenge and always supporting his team mates. Callum has plenty of speed and strength that made him dangerous. 8 Zane Lord This year we moved Zane into the halves and he once again stood up and used his valuable kicking game to hassle the opposition. Showed how capable he is at playing anywhere on the park. 9 Joel McNamara The most committed player in the team that always put his mates first. Joel plays in the back line and brings such strength and determination to every match. Always available to help out other sides. 10 Samuel Nakhla Sam decided to return to soccer this year and we were so happy to have him back. Sam played up front with plenty of emotion and aggression. He never backed down from a challenge and scored many useful goals. 11 Andrew Nustas Andrew joined the team this year and immediately showed us plenty of strength. He worked tirelessly every game and gave the opposing sides lots of grief. 12 Tim Rufford We were devastated when Tim was injured so early in the season leaving such a huge hole in the side. He is a gutsy player you want with you! A really strong player that has the respect of his mates. 13 Sam Stylli Sam was another much needed player to come to our rescue this season. He played with the fullbacks and showed he had plenty of skill to take on anyone. 14 Daniel Ventrella I have said this many times before, but this young man plays with the biggest heart and most determination. He gives his all and continues to make life hard for opposing teams. Always available to help other sides. Comment: This was definitely a challenging season with injuries and not having enough players on the park. Despite this, we were always a threat to the opposition and never went down easily. With a healthy full squad we were a side that could have made the finals. We are so proud of this amazing group of young men that make our jobs so easy. They all bring their unique personalities to the team and they all bring a true sense of loyalty and support for each other. A big thank you to the boys from the 16 1 s and 16 2 s who often played two matches when we were short. We really appreciate you helping us out! We cannot leave out John Klinker from the other 18 side who had the same problems we did, yet never gave up on the boys. John allowed our boys to train with his side each week and we cannot thank him enough for his time. A huge thank you to the parents who have always supported the players and the club. The club is so successful due to the amazing help of volunteers, players and parents who offer their time and support whenever asked. 70

All players can hold their heads high knowing that each one played with the best attitude and in the spirit of the game. Looking forward to you all returning in 2018! There was a lot of confusion at the start of the season and numbers didn t really work out well for us. Highlights were very few and far between. It was the first year the boys had to play for the full 45 minute halves and although most are only 17 and some still 16 they all tried very hard putting in big efforts every week. Due to the fact that most weeks we were playing either short or with only 1 on the bench the boys always competed very well deep into most games but just ran out of puff late in each half against other sides that seemed to have at least 4 or 5 bench players to run on and off at will. Special thanks to coach Klinker for giving up his time to help the boys at training and on game days. Also a special thanks to Leanne Walther for assisting in managing the team. It was a tough season for all involved. Regards Scott Linabury 71

This group pf girls know how to have a good time. Not only that, they surprised themselves at how well they can play when they put their minds to it. This group of girls came together at the beginning of the season to have fun, make some friends and enjoy themselves. I think that as a group the initially underestimated themselves. With 2 byes and a loss in our first 3 rounds it was hard to get any rhythm going. Once the season was underway though a funny thing happened. These girls can play. Captain Courageous Sandra led the way, always positive, always with 100% effort. She leads by example and is a natural leader. Erin McFadden, Rebecca (Bex) O Shea and Georgia McFadden in the middle literally danced around opposition players throwing in the occasionally well-timed sledge. Lauren, Jo & Amanda at the back proved to be a formidable combination at the back with Alicia and Erin Potter making a very strong backline. Emaison Beck at striker showed what an athlete she is, able to put a deft pass into the bottom corner of the net. Great composure. Kiralee and Jayde found that their best position was on the wings, speed speed speed, you can t coach it and defenders hate it. Palla showed what a tenacious players she is, nothing stopped her from getting the ball. Opposition strikers just couldn t get any time on the ball with Palla around. Charlie is the player you want in every team. A great boot pass, turn, tackle she is the complete package. She tops it off by being a great team player always positive and great fun to be around. With the heart of a lion Cass Thompson was a revelation. First year back at soccer after a few years, Cass badly rolled her ankle in our first game. After weeks on the sideline and still not 100% she goes into keeper when we were short of players. Cass made the keeper s role her own and kept us in matches with her saves. Great Season Cass. Highlights of the season: Our 1-1 draw with Thistles. Up until that game Thistles had been winning games 10 and 11 nil. We were the first team to get a goal against them and end their winning run. The girls played like world beaters that day and given another 5 minutes, would have scored the winning goal I believe. Fruity language on the sidelines shock tactics are sometimes best to snap people out of a malaise and get them to pay attention to the game at hand, not last night s episode of The Bachelor. The coach may have taken it a bit too far on this occasion. He ll have to lift his game. Beating St Christophers in the Semi-Final. First time in the semis for most of these girls and getting a win against arch-rivals St Christophers made it all the sweeter. Lowlights: The netball catch, say no more. 72

Each week they turn up to training twice a week, they put in the effort but never forget to enjoy themselves. There s always a lot of laughter at training and these boys play the game just for the sheer joy of football. On game day they get there with their heads on ready to go, you can never question the effort, and the passion that they put into our games. It s always a privilege to coach these boys. They pull their weight around the Club, with Field Duty and Canteen and they don t mind getting on the cans after a game. The season started very well, especially considering where last season left off on our end-ofseason night out something resembling a penis (only smaller) was seen at the Wenty Park Greyhounds, two people were arrested and I put my grocery money on a mutt that is still yet to finish. Highlights of the season include A brilliant game against Panania B, the first night game at Kelso with the new lighting system. Beautiful attacking flowing football from both teams. End-to-end action with great skills on display from both teams, a joy to watch. Liam s screamer of a goal.hmm, wrong end Liam Winding up our favourite opposition player until he stormed off the field in a tanty. God we love him 73

A couple of times throughout the season I have brought out the phrase We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother. These boys are a tight group of mates. To me that phrase goes to the heart of what these boys are, a tight group of mates brothers. People want to be associated with this group because they can see the happiness that being a part of this group brings. It s something special. Well done boys. All Age Men 1B Coach: Scott Hamilton Manager: Ian Hamilton Player s Player: Patrick Henry Season Summary: Games Byes Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against Highlights: Beating Rovers 4-0 Beating Dragons 3-2 (who were undefeated until last game of the regular season) Matty s BDAFA (not sure if a highlight or lowlight but was entertaining) Lowlights: Losing more games than we won Having 17 players but only getting max numbers on a game card once or twice. BDAFA s incompetence (I don t think they could organise a piss-up in a brewery) The Team: Name Commentary 1 Tom Baker Baker was one of the new recruits this year, always had a play hard mentality and was always keen for a run in the midfield. Highlight of the season was against Birrong where he turned up at Kelso only to realise 5 minutes before the game we were playing at Jim Ring. 2 Dane Barnes Barnesy took up the mantle of Captain this season and managed to take out the golden boot for the team. Solid presence in the middle of the park, good season Dane and best of luck with the baby on the way. 3 Ben Basara Ben was another new recruit this season coming back from a few seasons break, managed to get a red card first game back that halted his second game by 5 weeks. Ben had an unrivalled passion and a hunger for goals (shame it only took to the second last game of the season for him to find one). 4 Daniel Cassidy Cass made his comeback from a back injury this season (sustained the injury procreating his 67 kids), Cass quickly gained his match fitness up again and managed to give us some more attacking threat out wide. Highlights of Cass s season was his goal against Rovers and when he rocked up to field duty with his foot cut half open and preceded to act like nothing was wrong. 74

5 Zac Chin Zac was scouted by Rick and brought into the Panania fold, unfortunately wasn t able to play every game, but when he did play he showed his class with his silky passing skill and willingness to put his body on the line. Good season Zac. 6 Gavin Costello Another season another injury for Gavin (pretty sure he has paid for his physio s kids University education), was top goal scorer until he decided to have a go one game and compete for the ball, this change in playing style resulted in a broken arm. I m sure he will be back next year ready to cop Matty s abuse for another season. 7 Dane Dinham Dane had another season plagued with another injury. The games he managed to play, he was always had a physical presence on the field 8 Scott Hamilton Poor season for a pretty poor player, highlights of Scott s season was reffing our victory against rovers and getting head butted against Dragons (Sydney Jets). 75

9 James Henry James made his comeback to Football this season, this ultimately led to brother John pulling out of the season (can t repeat the words John used when announcing his decision). Once James got his Football mojo back, was a solid and dependable force in the midfield. Solid season Jim. 10 Patrick Henry Rick was the main man at the back this season and took out our Players Player this season. Kept us in many games with his defence alone, put his body on the line a few times to keep us in games. Good season Rick. 11 Matthew Lee Self-proclaimed best keeper in Bankstown (didn t manage to play a single game we won though). Unfortunately his best highlights this season weren t on the field. The discussion with his mate Grimace (which resulted in a suspension) and his about Mitchell Pearce to BDAFA were entertaining to say the least. 12 Brett Nicholl Every side needs a guy as dependable as the old Schnicerdoodle. Always willing to play wherever he needs to for the good of the team, runs the esky and is an all round good bloke. Brett s footballing highlight of the season came while he had a spell as keeper against Birrong Can you pick up the ball between the 6 and 18 yard box Yes Brett, you can pick it up. 13 Daniel Reed Reedy played all over the park as necessary but when we had a full side was our starting right wing, was a strong force on the wing and troubled the opposing sides. Managed to score 2 important goals but probably will be unfairly dirty on himself for not getting more. Good season Reedy. 14 Jesse Reed Jesse returned to the game after a 15-year lay off, played half a season before jetting off to Europe for a Holiday. There were high expectations placed on him by his brother, Daniel hoped he would emulate his 30 goal season in U6 s Unfortunately he didn t find the game as easy as he did when he was 6, though constantly improved (dramatically when he started wearing shoes that fit who would ve thought). Good season Jesse. 15 Adam Santarossa 16 Matthew Smith 17 Cameron Taylor Egg had work commitments during the year and managed to get a suspension for getting a knee to the head (still trying to work that one out) which limited the amount of games he was able to play. When egg was able to play he linked with Barnsy in the middle and directed us around. Egg shows a lot of heart and always goes in hard. Hopefully will be able to play more games next year but with how he has been going with his commentary its not looking likely. Smithy was not only Mr Dependable at the back but was also the only sponsored player in the side (Pantene, why his hair was always as Silky as his skills). Has a sharp mind for the game and always gave 100%. Good season Smithy. Cameron started the season playing up front, but looked like he wouldn t be able to score in a brothel (could be due to now having 2 kids), fortunately for us he managed to find some form in goals (due to injuries and Suspensions from Matty). Good finish to the season Cameron, you might give Matty something to worry about next season. Coach s Report Another season done with not the result we wanted but that s life. This year wasn t a great season for the side, We showed glimpses of what we could do during the season and unfortunately hit form too late to make a surge into the finals. I have mentioned to some of the guys that this year will be my last as Coach of the side (will be back playing though), its time for someone else to step up and run the side (don t worry its not that hard), so with saying this I would like to thank all the lads for the last few years. I would also like to thank our #1 supporter and Esky Technician Garry, Assistant Esky Technician Brett and our Manager Ian, I appreciate your support, and without your help we either wouldn t get a side on the field or enjoy ourselves as much. 76

As always I would like to thank Bob Bell and the committee without their efforts there wouldn t be a club. As always, yours in Football Scott Hamilton Manager s Report Another season over and dusted before the semi finals. We played well against the top sides but struggled badly against the sides out of the top 4. To the players, it has been great being your manager once again. Thank you for not complaining too much about fee collections. Hopefully you all will be back next season. A big thank you to all the parents and supporters that turned up each week. A special thank you to Garry Nicholl for filling the esky each week, mostly out of his own pocket, and for not missing a game during the season. Congratulations to Pat Henry for 20 years service and Dane Dinham for almost 20 years service, James Henry 15 years service and to Dane Barnes on 10 years service with the club. Thank you for filling in for us Jack Jones and Scott Guest from the AA5 s and to Maso s AA2 troops, Ben Oldfield, Bryce Bentley, Trevor Maggs, Liam Stokehill, Mark Stokehill, Chris Tate, Liam Sheridan, Brendan Gibson, and Jake Nelson. (nearly had Maso s whole side) Thank you also to Dave and Bob for all the assistance we received through red card appeals, injury reports and late night s. 78 All Age Men 3 Coach: Alex Hassett Manager: Greg Hassett Players Player: Alex Hassett Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals For Goals Against Highlights of the season were: the competition when we had a full squad Gaining another sibling member with Nicholas stepping up and skipping the 16 s to play with his brother Alex On 4 separate occasions having the match officials compliment the boys on the respect that they showed the officials and the spirit that they played the game in they are a credit to themselves and their families The Team Name Commentary 1 Zac Bosco Bought back the man bun for a couple of games this season. Strong in defence and never shied away from the contest. Our enforcer at the back but could find the goal when he found himself up front. 2 Mitch Brooks Matured this year and let his football do the talking. Opposition players tended to target him but he plays much larger than his stature. Never realised how composed he was on the field until I met his brother 3 Russell Butters First season with the team and fitted in wherever he was needed and played strongly. Thought his cricket gloves would work better that the goalie gloves for a while. Horrific injury ended his season but he s happy to show you his scar 4 Neil Chand Played at pace in the midfield but only scored when he went to left back. Only picked up twice all season for moving the ball off the free kick mark despite averaging 15m per game. Missed a field duty because he was on a date but he did bring her to the game after that. We didn t see her again 5 Henderson Cheung Still the team supplier of apparel. Played strong when he wasn t injured. Would love to see him fully fit. Continues to provide guidance to team mates and referees alike. Recruits anyone who dates his sister. 6 Alex Cole I m a striker but just can t shoot straight Alex summed up his season well. Had some good finishing tips from Gab. Late flurry of goals almost saw him finish in the top goals scorers and would have finished equal top goal scorer if it wasn t for a timely whistle from the ref in the last game. 7 Daniel Ebrahim New to the team this year and filled the hole in the backline gallantly. Verbally quiet on the field he was strong in defence. Saved at least 3 goals on the line with freakish efforts when all looked lost. 8 Ben Fletcher A classy player that never took a backwards step. Can play anywhere except goals. Plagued by injury for the year though did channel Mr T on the sideline a few times. Still trying to work out what his tattoo means. 9 Duke Fonghee Recruited into the team by Hendo this year. Gifted player that loves to play at pace. Not afraid of the contest even against players in a heavier weight division. Ranked number one in the team for head clashes 10 Jake Gilmour Improved his long range shooting this year and hit the cross bar from 48 metres out and it was still rising. Wonderful balance on the ball. Enjoyed the second round clash with St Christophers 78

11 Alex Hassett Equal top goal scorer for the year after not scoring at all the previous year. Was never going to pass to Lepre in the last minute of the final game even though unmarked. Played strongly in the mid field and dominated teams in the air. Introduced the shoey to celebrate a win. 12 Nicholas Hassett 13 Gabriel Kilazoglou 14 Josh Kilazoglou Big step up into all age this year but held his own. Injuries marred the season and meant we didn t see his full potential but enjoyed playing out of goals. Always happy to get guidance from brother. Came ahead leaps and bounds this year. A strong midfielder / wing that made some memorable runs. Great mentor for Alex C and never short on providing advice on how he could improve his finishing. Should remember to make contact with the ball and not the opposition when trying to kick it over his head. Made his mum drive all the way to Birrong with the team esky when he left it at home. Lead the yellow card count all season. A real lion at the back. Finally worked out how tall he is to get up for those headers. Showed some real bursts of speed and put his body on the line every time. Mr Dependable. 15 Mark Lepre Equal top goal scorer and could have taken the individual honour if he didn t hit the cross bar in the last minute of the last game. Always looking to push up from even from defensive mid. Not as much talk about his sibling this year now that Stoj has moved on. 16 Kevin Pham Season marred by injury but when he played he moved like superman without a cape. Some spectacular saves in goal. Still keeps everyone guessing on how he s going to restart play 17 Joel Ryder First year with the team and a very solid wing. Made some very strong length of the field runs. Loves the contest. Only buys gear for the ute with his name on it. 18 Tony Taylor Has continued to improve every year and has grown in confidence. Competes every moment he s on the field. Still one of the biggest female fan bases at the game. Should learn that text messages and a night out with the boys don t mix well. 79

Coach: Manager: Players Player: Season Summary: All Age Men 4 Minor Premiers and Premiers Christopher Gavrielatos Dimitri Droulias Jake Macdonald & Kendrick Law Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against Report: Aidan Murphy One of the most consistent players of the season. Although his hot temper got the better of him sometimes (5 yellow cards for a Goalkeeper), Aidan proved his worth stepping up to the plate, performing when he needed to, organising his defence and keeping an enormous number of clean sheets in the process. He improved his kicking game and worked hard during training to improve his flaws. Thanks for your contribution keeps. Bailin Beck Looking at Bailin you see a young dopey kid who just wants to have fun. However when the boots go on, it s a different story. Bailin is composed, calm on the ball and shows ruthless aggression. Linking up with Ben, the two formed a centre back partnership that became our brick wall, impenetrable. Although Bailin missed many games with injury and travel, he was no doubt a big player all season, thanks mate. Ben Le Bas A true born athlete and a player who never hesitates to grind and work hard. Le Bas versatility proved to be his most useful trait as he was able to contribute anywhere on the pitch without question or discontent. Quick, agile and strong in defence he found his home in the left back position, which proved a success, linking up with Rob on the wing and providing some deadly deliveries with his left foot. Ben maintained consistent form throughout the year and never dropped in confidence. Thanks Le Bas. 80

Ben Taylor By far one of the hardest working players on the field. Ben is a player who can be relied upon, who rarely takes a break from his duties, and will play every minute of every game. A leader at the back, Ben commanded his defence and kept the team organised. It s no wonder why we kept the majority of our clean sheets when Ben played. Ben should be commended for his defensive efforts, especially on Grand Final day. Thanks Benny. Brandon Donovan Brandon was a great addition to the squad and brought a lot of heart and character to the side. After four weeks into the season, he unfortunately had to leave due to work commitments. However soon after, he made the decision to re-join the squad putting the boys first. An impact player who does not stop running and will always put in maximum effort. Thanks for this season mate, don t know what we would have done if you had left. Chris Bale Slink, an experienced striker who is able to carve up a defence with ease. You wouldn t put your trust in anyone else when one on one with the keeper. It was unfortunate we missed a player of his quality during many games of the season as he embarked on some memorable travels, however when available for selection, there is no doubt who would be leading the line. Able to bring a different dimension to the attack, Bales is a classy player. Thanks for the season slink. Derryn Chiu Lightning quick and a lethal striker, Derryn made a big impression from the get go. Whilst Derryn was restricted by work commitments to attend full training sessions, he was able to build partnerships with the majority of the attackers and midfielders. His ability to find gaps and make darting runs proved too much to handle for opposition defences. Derryn always showed full commitment, running till the very last minute. Well done Dez. Jake Macdonald Boss. No other words can describe the type of player Macca is. Playing in one of the most difficult and demanding positions as defensive midfielder, Macca stepped up to the plate this season. Driving the ball forward, keeping possession and breaking up the oppositions attack, Macca was the engine to the team. Acting as captain throughout many games of the season, Macca is a natural leader on the park and in training. Always training and working hard, an extremely important player for us this season. Thanks Champ. James Leedow (C) No one else demands more respect from his team mates than Leedow; a true captain and natural leader. Knows when to speak, what to say and knows how to keep the team in check. Leedow made sure that every training session and every warm-up, everyone was fully focused and ready to perform. A versatile player who can play virtually anywhere on the field and still able to make an impact. Pushing the team right till the end and all the way to the Grand Final victory, well done captain. Jesse Dawkings The biggest man on the park with the softest heart. Always willing to put others before himself, Jesse is truly a team player. No matter what is asked of him, Jesse gives 100% on and off the field. A big threat up front, Jesse bagged plenty of goals this season and played an integral part in our grand final success. Jesse was a massive help to the management team setting the standard of training and ensuring the boys followed his lead. Thanks Jestaz. Josh Jordan After being unfortunately hampered by injuries at the start of the season, Josh played an important role contributing when available and making a positive impact towards the end of the season when he returned from injury. Josh is the type of player you want around the dressing room This was evident during his injury spell o whereby he still made the commitment to show up for all training sessions and games, providing quality banter and morale. Josh undoubtedly made a big impact behind the scenes. Kendrick Law The most technically gifted player in the squad and in the division by far. Kendrick s ability has no bounds. Playing a critical position in the middle of the park, Kendrick pulled the strings, organised the team and controlled the tempo and flow of the game. His ability to instantly change the game with some magic proved invaluable, winning many games for us. A first name of the team sheet week in week out and totally committed to the cause. Well done champ. 81

Liam Bow Quick and agile and always willing to put in 100% effort, Bowy made a huge impact every game. A natural attacker, Bowy used his pace and dribbling skills to our advantage, playing on the wings. His link up play with the fullbacks, midfielders and strikers provided the team with many chances, assists and goals. It was a shame you were sick for the Grand Final, but your efforts throughout the season got us there. Congrats mate. Nathan Bennett Although Nathan was unable to attend training due to work commitments, it had no affect on his ability to produce quality performances on game day. Nathan is a reliable and versatile player who can play anywhere across the back line. Nathan is talkative and loud on the field, a trait which proved crucial in spurring on teammates. The king of banter and testipops, well done Nato. Robert Sumanggita After playing many years as a striker, Rob was asked to take up the left wing role with a particular purpose. Although hesitant at first, Rob grew into the position and made it his own. A player with speed, determination and great shooting ability, Rob made a huge impact down the wing destroying the oppositions defence. Robs desire to never give up until the final whistle was evident all season, bagging screamers and providing assists for the strikers even in the dying minutes of the game. Top year Rob well done. Sean Pryde Although Sean left us after only a month of playing, his contribution at the start of the season was not forgotten. Using his experience which spans over 15 years, he passed on knowledge and wisdom to the defence to prepare them for the season that was to come. A hard hitter, thanks for your efforts Prydey. Tim Evans Mr Reliable. Tim is a player that every coach wants in their squad, a player that you can rely on to do their job, train hard, and keep positive. A rock in the midfield, Tim was able to play centrally or wide and never complained. He is able to keep possession of the football and make crunching tackles when needed. A player who always put his head down and worked hard. A big season from you mate, thanks. 83 enough the fact that the injury ends his playing of a sport he loves so much is sorrow that we all share. I would just like to point out the lack of Yellow Cards and Red Cards (Nil) that this team has. It is a credit to each and every player you all make me and Panania Diggers proud. The Team Name 1 Simon Anderson 2 Scott Bradshaw Commentary Our fearless Keeper who always kept us in the game. The team was a different one when you were injured both on and off the field. One of if not the most active players on our team. Another great year Scott. 3 Adam Bursill Poppa always gives his best. Just get some more goals will you next year eill you 4 Michael Garbellini 5 Anthony Georgiadis Garbo is one of our strong men in defence. It is interesting that when he plays the goals against us are always low. AG (or AJ as I wrongly called him on many occasions. He is one of our newbees and took a couple of games to settle in but you are a welcome to the team. 6 Davide Gaicon Another neebee and another great asset of the team 7 Scott Guest Scooter you are another of a our defensive machine with an added benefit that you can score goals with your head. 8 Tashwar Islam Tash always gives 100% and gives the opposition defence nightmares. Just score more goals please. 9 Justin Johnson What can I say he was selected by his peers as the player s player (joint) and well deserved 10 Daniel Jones What I can about Dan is that he wants to play every day and his enthusiasm is infectious 11 Jack Jones Our Player Manager and also the selected player s player (joint). He is one of our workhorses on the team, and just a bit competitive 12 Dennis Kelly Nice new boots Dennis. He is also one of our enthusiastic players, and thanks. 13 Mathew McCann Mat is in the engine room of the team playing centre mid. His work ethic as well as the k s he runs each week just astound me. 14 Karan Menon Another newbee and one who fitted in nicely. 15 Richard Morcombe Richard this year turned up early for games, yippie. But is on the park that he shines, just get a bit fitter. 16 Craig Roberts A newbee who is fit but has never played before. However, by the end of the year it was very hard not to keep him on the park. Great year. 17 Brendan Ross Bucket loves to play soccer with his mates and it shows with how he plays on the park 18 Ayush Shukia Our new keeper who has never played the sport, I don t think being a hockey keeper counts. Great effort and you did the team proud 19 Daniel Smith He didn t play last year and got the bug to play with his mates again. Nice to have you back. 20 Brendan Thorpe 21 Shannon Wilson What can you say about one of the toughest most competitive backs I have seen. Bron thanks. Another newbee to the team and to the sport. A player who turms up to every training session and every game and knows that he is only going to get to play part of the game but does so uncomplaining week in week out. Thank you. 83

The Team Name Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against Commentary 1 Johnny Aviles Jumping Johnny was his usual busy self when he turned up!! 2 Ian Bell Boozing Belly, the impeccably bred stallion, went through the whole season without scoring an own goal outstanding! 3 Gary Danielson Grinding Gary, one of our veteran recruits, was a great asset distributing the ball, just needed more people to distribute to! 4 James Finlay Jovial James, also a veteran recruit, used his advanced years as an excuse not to hear when he was being replaced. Non stop worker, good season Jimmy. 5 Daniel Gainsford Dashing Daniel made the middle of the field his own. 6 Jickson John Action Jickson, the Kiwi superhero, was our star acquisition, scored plenty of goals and was a well deserved Players Player. 7 Gabe Kaillis Gambolling Gabe, half of the Dynamikos Duo, again spent more time at Double J than on the field Gabe, learn to delegate! 8 Nick Kastrounis Nasty Nick, the other half of the Dynamikos Trio, relished having the Stopper job pretty much to himself and had a great season. 9 Sam Kontogiorgis Slippery Sam, veteran number 3, was doing an admirable job in goals before heading back to the homeland with the family for a Souvlaki and Spanakopita Tour. 10 Ryan Melvold Rampaging Ryan was busier than a one-legged man in an arse kicking contest at Sweeper but did his usual outstanding job. And now he s the father of a beautiful daughter, congratulations Ryno! 11 Patrick Lamprinos Pesty Patrick annoyed the opposition constantly, with more fitness he could be a real pest! 12 Chris Long Casual Chris was back to his Guest Appearer role this season, always worked hard when on the field. 13 Jim Margaris Jovial Jim played here, there and everywhere, well done Jim! 84

14 Lachlan Morton Leaping Lachlan was one of our younger new recruits and found out he should have done a bit more training! Good comeback season Lachlan, bigger and better in 2018! 15 Eric Quah Quirky Quah was another who seemed to find lots to do on Saturdays apart from soccer. When he was there he ran his heart out, never a lack of effort with Eric. 16 Bipul Supedi Bustling Bipul was firstly snavelled for our team, and then for a job at PKF. Very good addition to both squads I m happy to say, and fortunately no recruitment fees for either! 17 John Simboukis Jovial John, our 4th veteran recruit, did a great job up front and got a bit feisty on occasions! 18 Munur Tugce Moonwalking Munur, yet another veteran recruit, showed his excellent skills on many occasions and was a great asset. Receives the Bench Warmers award for always loving the start on the bench (probably because of reasons stated earlier). 3 Paul Ashley We have found our new sweeper. Receives the Manager s Golden Boot award, for actually taking and using Shaun s boots after the round 1 injury. 4 Travis Darnley Definitely at home at fullback this year. Receives the Punching Bag award for taking a big shot to the head in that heated game against Thistles. 5 Shaun Goodson Earns back the Injury Award (although only just) after doing his other ACL 10mins into game one (or maybe at week one training). Could well be career this time round. Full time supercoach??? 6 Joshua Holt The Big Man at the back. First time anyone but Jason has won it, and hopefully he can shake the title next season. 9 Jason Lee Receives the Sexy Legs award. We ve seen him striding down the pitch, now we need to see him pirouetting in a tutu. We need that video, Jason! 10 Stuart Molloy Non-contest best Haircut award winner again, although probably lack of haircut I guess. Receives the Tantrum award (probably learnt from his son) after his dummy spit following a terrible team effort against Dragons. 12 Nathan Ruppas Took the backheel out of his game, scored more goals this year. Wins the Marathon Man award for covering the most ground every game. 13 Anthony Sams Finally gets his Player s Player award that has eluded him his PRSL career. Scored basically all our goals again, apart from that one game we don t like to talk about. 14 David Vu Led by example this year. Receives the Recruiter award for discussing a potential transfer deal with an opponent during a game. 15 Tom Walther Made it back from a bad injury last year only to this year receive the Bad Break award for breaking his hand in the last game. Didn t really hurt our season, but I bet his boss wasn t happy. 16 Keith Wheeler First year, first goal. Receives the Friendly Fire award, for, after helping out a depleted opponent team at half time, diving in on Ruppas in the box in a tackle some have dubbed the worst tackle of all time. 17 Harrison Walther Receives the Most Likely to be a Soccer Player in real life award. 90 Manager s Report Managing and playing in the AAL2 team or Ladies Platinum League Reserve Grade made me look forward to Sunday afternoons. While BDAFA's organisation of the first season of Ladies Platinum League made things frustrating at times, the fantastic ladies in my team made it worthwhile. I hope you all enjoyed the season as much as I did! I met a lot of new team members this year and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you all. The introduction of the squad, joining the AAL1 and AAL2 was a highlight and really brought the two teams together. Unfortunately due to work and other commitments we were often short of players, but the willingness of the AAL1s, AAL3s and U16Ls to help us out was much appreciated and a testament to the welcoming and family environment PRSL encourages within our ladies competition. We're very grateful for all your help this season! I think all our team would agree that Rachel Lombe deserves a special mention for stepping up and helping us out almost every week. Rach, it was a pleasure to have you play for us and you're welcome any time, you're an honorary member of the AAL2s! Thanks to Brett and Mike for coaching our team, you both did a fantastic job. Thanks also to Brett for all the equipment you bring to a match for us. I could guarantee that if there was something I didn't have in my bag, Brett would have it. Thanks for bringing the esky with spare water bottles and ice for us each week! Thanks Greg for coming to support us each week and keeping us supplied with lollies for half time and thanks to Kerrie for the oranges! Finally, thanks to everyone who came and supported us this year. I'm looking forward to doing it all again next year! The Team Name 1 Catherine Aguilar 2 Raelene Bernoth Commentary Attacking Midfield Catherine has had a great season this year. Hard working who puts in every game and it s been great to see Catherine improve during the season. Catherine has made plenty of good fast runs down the sideline. Hope you enjoyed your season and will play again next season. Centre Midfield A reliable player who reads the opposition well. One of the most crucial positions is centre midfield and Rae does well by controlling the centre of the field with Jen. A passionate team player who would play any position for the team. 90

3 Ellie Bull Ellie had a great start to the season playing as a right midfield/winger position. But after a few games was badly injured and was not able to play the rest of the season. It was great to see Ellie come along and support the team on many occasions. 4 Rebecca Cranston Fantastic team player. Rebecca s years of experience is easily seen in the way she plays. Always encouraging her team mates on the field, at half time and off the field. And Rebecca is no slouch on the field either, she gives her all week after week! 5 Elise Douglass Striker Even though Elise hadn t played for some time she soon showed she hadn t lost her skills or knowledge of the game. Elise liked to take on her opponents and getting the ball past them. 6 Taylor Gow Defender even though it was her first season playing, Taylor gave a consistent effort each week. Usually I wouldn t play a new player in a defending position but Taylor learned quickly to slow the attacking player and to time her tackles. 7 Chaffia Haouam Defender (Sweeper) Chaffia is a skilful player, she is better than she gives herself credit for. Would have loved to see Chaffia play in an attacking position but she didn t feel comfortable trying. A polite young lady you can always count on playing her best and Chaffia improved game after game! Thank you Chaffia for a great season! 8 Hannah Lombe Centre Defender It takes good communication, respect for the other defenders and their respect plus cooperation with the other defenders to be effective and Hannah does an outstanding job in this position! 9 Bianca McAlister 10 Rebekah Nakhla Unfortunately, due to family commitments and moving house Bianca only played a handful of games this season. Mainly played as a defender and had potential with her speed to play in midfield too. Even though Bianca has moved out of area and maybe too hard to play in the team next season I hope she continues playing and enjoying soccer at a club in her new district. Rebekah is a pleasure to coach as she took on board any instructions she was given and put them into practise. From week to week Rebekah improved to become a key attacking player in our team and was rewarded by the goals she scored. Rebekah was always at training. 11 Elle Seeto Position = whatever we needed, Elle would be willing to play that position if asked. As a coach trying to please every player by playing them in their favourite position and doing what s best for the team is a hard task. Elle makes the job so much easier. Thanks Elle! 12 Jennifer Stevens Centre Midfield a good team player who is always looking at what can be done to improve the team to win the game. Jen is a character, a character every team should have. It was practically impossible to keep her off the field when she is injured as she always wanted to play! 91

13 Kristie Stevens Kristie mostly played as goal keeper where her efforts didn t go unnoticed! Well-deserved Kristie being awarded the Players Player! Kristie is passionate player who would have been at training every week if it wasn t on the same day and time she worked. Never complained on being in goals even though she would love more game time out on the field. Congratulations on winning this year s Players Player Award. 14 Elyse Walker Didn t matter whether Elyse was on the field or off she was always giving her all for the team! On the field as a defender Elyse was part of our strong back line, marking tight and many times stopping the opposition from advancing. Off the field, I can t thank Elyse enough for her efforts as Manager, her support to Mike & I and the many extra things she did for the team and making sure we had a team each week. THANK YOU! 15 Alana Wood Alana is one of our youngest players on the team who had a flying start to the season by scoring 2 goals in our first match. Alana played mostly in a midfield position and a few times up front as striker. Alana shows her passion for playing and to the team by always at training and matches. One of Alana s strengths is her long throw in. 16 Jeanette Yammine Striker Juggling Year 12 school work, family commitments, a part time job and sport is no easy task but Jeanette made it to as many matches and training as possible. Jeanette s speed and determination was always appreciated as she made every effort to score goals and get the win for the team. 93 Season Summary: Games Won Lost Draw Goals Goals For Against Coach s Report 2017, what a year! With the first (and possibly last) season of Women s PL we merged our women s teams and created two very competitive sides for 1 st division and 2 nd division. After a few teething problems early on with BDAFA we were underway. We had quite a few new faces in the team this year but it certainly didn t feel that way, everyone fitted right in. We quickly got into gear and looked like we d all been playing together for years, starting the season with some very convincing wins. Unfortunately a lack of numbers at training through the middle of the season saw us have a bit of a mid season slump, drawing some games we should have probably won and just missing out on the minor premiership, coming second by 1 point. That didn t worry us though, winning the major semifinal and getting straight through to the grand final was a real highlight of our season. The grand final was an epic game of end to end football that could have gone either way. In the end we were so unlucky not to take out the premiership, losing 0-1 in the 92 nd minute. I thoroughly enjoyed this season and coaching such a great bunch of girls. We all get on so well on and off the field and it makes coaching a lot of fun. I appreciate everyone being such team players and playing any position asked, many of which aren t your regular positions. The biggest thank you goes to our Manager Elyse, without her we would be lost! The huge amount of work she put in this year to manager both 1 st and reserves, while also playing in the reserves was massive and did not go unnoticed! THANK YOU! Finally to the AAL div 2 and div 3 teams, thank you all for being a part of this season together. Sharing players from all 3 teams throughout the year, training together every week and spending our end of season trip together just shows the comradery this club has within the women s teams. Something that I hope we can continue for years to come. 93

Manager s Report Managing the AAL1 team or Ladies Platinum League First Grade (I'm still not sure what we're called, ask BDAFA!) was a challenge this season. BDAFA's lack of communication of the rules and by laws for the inaugural season of Ladies Platinum League made things difficult and sometimes frustrating. This wonderful team of ladies made all it worthwhile though. I played in the AAL2 this season and often ran straight off the field to start getting organised for the AAL1 game. The ladies made it easy for me, having their match fees ready for collection and being on time. Jill was also a huge help, often collecting money for me while I played, to take some of the pressure off after my game. Thanks Jilly! Watching these ladies play made me wish I had half their talent. My Sunday afternoons were certainly well spent sitting on the bench watching some truly great games of soccer. Thanks to Kate and Bob for coaching. I certainly appreciated the effort you put in when I filled in doing the substitutions for a couple of weeks while Bob was on holidays, it's not an easy job! Thanks to Brian for your managerial advice and help. I learnt from the best! Thanks also to Brett for letting us use your esky to keep the drinks cold and providing the ice and spare water every week. Thanks Greg for being a great supporter and lolly man! Thanks to Kerrie for bringing us oranges for half time. Thanks to the AAL2s for always being willing to fill in when the team was short. Making AAL1 and AAL2 a squad was one of the great parts about being in Platinum League. Finally, thanks to everyone who came and supported us this year. I'm looking forward to doing it all again next season, hopefully with a grand final win! 94

The Team Name Commentary 1 Taylor Bell This year s players player and it was definitely well deserved! Tay was our rock at the back and nothing got past her. Her speed and ability to take the ball off any attacker is such an asset to our team. I think it s safe to say she was the player of the Grand Final! One of your best seasons Tay! (Back for one more?) 2 Aleesha Bow Bowie is someone who never gives up and always puts in 110% every game. 20 goals this season really proved to the competition that she is one of the best strikers in the comp. Well done on another great season Bowie! 3 Tahlia Burke New to the team this year Tahlia slotted straight in. Playing in the central fullback position was new to her, but it looked like she d been doing it for years! She always seemed to be right where we needed her, shutting down opposition attacks with ease (especially in the grand final!). Top season Tahlia! 4 Ashleigh Campbell One of many versatile players in the team. Even finding herself playing sweeper throughout the season! You can put this girl anywhere on the field and know she will give her all. Thanks for playing everywhere, Smash! 5 Toni Cooper Another newbie to the team and a very warm welcome back from rep soccer. Toni is a natural in the middle and just does not stop running! It was great to have you this year Toni and we hope to see you again next year! 6 Courtney Dailey Another work horse of our team. Court is a player who works tirelessly to win the ball. Her ability to use both her left and right foot is a huge advantage in women s soccer. (Please plan your overseas holidays better next year!) 7 Hayley Dick Hayley is one of the smallest players in our team but that doesn t stop her! She gets knocked about every game but just keeps getting up and getting stronger. Her touch on the ball is one of the best in the comp. Another great season, Haylz! 8 Maddie Harvey I would say Maddie was our most consistent player all year! She found herself in a new team and a new position at right fullback this year but she made it her own. She s also got the best headers you ve ever seen! Thanks for a great season Maddie! 9 Emily King Another one of the younger girls moving up into Div 1 this year but she slotted straight in. Her pace up front and on the wing made her a real threat. One of Emily s impressive skills was her ability to get straight back up after falling over everything and nothing. Thanks for all your efforts this year Em! 10 Emily McGrath Our little pocket rocket. Little Em has so much passion for the game and it really shows in the way she plays. Always seeming to find herself getting knocked down but nothing can stop her, even playing some of the Grand Final with a fractured hand! Another awesome season Em! 11 Jessey Meredith 12 Ashleigh Mooney Having Jessey back this season after a year off was fantastic. Her left foot on the left wing is a huge asset to our team. She is a never give up player and always gets herself involved to win the ball. Great season, Jessey! Mooney is another utility player that was used both up front and in the mids. Her pace and determination to win the ball caused havoc with the opposition this year. Well done on a fantastic season! 95

13 Jamie Pollock JP has a killer right boot that was so dangerous throughout the year, especially with her corners! She has natural ability with the ball at her feet and was always looking to make space. Well done on a top season, JP! 14 Jill Raynes One of the veterans of the team and someone you can always rely on! Jill makes sure she is always first to the ball when it s headed her direction. A very capable fullback and a great team player. Thanks for all your help throughout the season, Jill! 15 Maddi Sanna Maddi was a part of our unstoppable fullbacks this year. A position she wasn t too familiar with but played it with ease, combining well with the other fullbacks to really strengthen the backline. Great work this season, Madz! 16 Kate Walker Goalkeeper/Coach - Both still need some work. 17 Rebecca Wheatley Bec is someone you can always count on to get out there and give it a good crack. Thrown into midfield a bit this year and her ability to pass the ball around is a real asset to her game. Another solid season, Bec! Lo and behold, we have reverted back to the 2015 structure, the original 10 team competition that has been around since PL started. The quality and professionalism has returned, or so we thought until we saw the draw that had Panania playing our first 9 rounds away followed by our second 9 rounds away. That was changed to 4 away games, then 9 home games followed by 5 away games. The only benefit to us was that we seemed to avoid some field duty because we always seemed to be at Kelso. We really started on a rebuilding phase and ended up with 9 new faces in the squad. We had some mixed results with the newbies learning our structure and each others capabilities. The start of the season was made difficult with 5 weeks of rain and very limited opportunity to play trials. 97

All new players were welcomed at training and made to feel part of the squad. That seems to be something that we are good at, being a squad, more so than any other club in the competition. Firsts support Reserves and Reserves supports Firsts and then we all support each other. The commitment of all the players showed in the numbers at training, with the best numbers that I have seen at training for many years. Maybe it was the competition for positions or just the energy of youth or the promise of a BBQ and Lembo s marinated chicken, but this is the right attitude to build a strong squad in the future. On behalf of the squad, we would like to thank the Committee for their continued support. The right environment has been created that allows everyone within our Club to enjoy their football. The move to bring back a PL2 squad to Panania can only enhance the development of more of our juniors. Coaches Our coaches, John Lembryk, John Radman and Jay Smith, what more can we say, this is what it is all about, providing the framework to have a competitive squad. The after training BBQ s also help. Club Involvement This year was no exception, with many players taking positions looking after junior teams and being part of the Committee of the Soccer Club. Paul checking out next year s PL recruits. Sponsors We express our thanks to our sponsors, Alliance Real Estate, Logical Freight Solutions (Kegs) and Panania Diggers for their ongoing support. Unfortunately, the recipe for salt and pepper squid has changed at the Diggers, next season will tell if they have made a good move. Supporters There is nothing better for a squad than to have your family, friends and junior players turn up and support you at every game. Many thanks go to all these people who support us every game for the inspiration and encouragement to do good things on the field. That was even more evident at the Reserve Grade Semi-Final at Crest, where Panania shirts were the most popular attire in the crowd. The only good thing about being knocked out of the finals, was being able to get around and support the other Panania sides progressing through their own finals series.. Kevin Finnie Memorial Award for Premier League Players Player This award is in honour of Panania s first manager of Panania s Premier League when we entered the Premier League Competition, Kevin Finnie. The award is given to the First Grade player who has gained the most votes from the squad at the end of the year on a 3, 2, 1 basis. This year s Award goes to, with Paul Edmunds and Jake Lembryk second and third. Players Player for Reserve Grade is voted in the same fashion as First Grade. The Reserve Grade Players Player was won by Drew Smithwick, followed by Emil Koleczek and then Dale Williams just pipping Cam Newby and Logan Hession. 98

Fitness Manager This year we were very lucky to get the services of Amy-Leigh Williams for fitness training sessions. The squad benefited from Amy-Leigh s expertise, with our improved fitness being evident late in games when the opposition was starting to struggle. Thank you, Amy-Leigh. Amy-Leigh has indicated you will return next year after her stint in Flagstaff, Arizona, on the support staff of their grid iron team. Competition There were some memorable games and some we would rather forget, fortunately there is no videos of anything that happened. We couldn t find Troy and his aerial GoPro. Annual Dinner The annual PL dinner at Panania Chinese was well represented with our numbers increasing to 50 players, relatives and friends, a great night was had by all, even the four customers that joined in the fun. 99
