1 Volume 1 Issue 13 February 3, 2017 Superintendent s Weekly Newsletter Remember that we will be using February 20 th, President s Day as a snow make-up day Boys Varsity Basketball Brings Home the Conference Title The Meadow Heights Varsity boys basketball team brought home a second consecutive conference win Thursday evening by defeating the Zalma Bulldogs in the Championship Playoff Game. Monday evening, during the first game of Round Robin play, the Panthers triumphed over the Leopold Wildcats Tuesday evening, they enjoyed a victory over the Marquand-Zion Tigers The boys resume play at home on Tuesday night vs. the Oak Ridge Blue Jays. With a win, the Panthers will own the Conference Regular Season Championship out-right. The Junior Varsity game starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by Varsity play. Remember to join us and come out to support our Panthers!
2 2 Panthers of the Week Abi Bristow is the Lady Panther Player of the Week. She drained 5 three pointers to aid us in our victory over Delta Monday night! Austin Gruenke is the Panther Player of the Week. Austin ramped up his game dramatically during a highly emotional and competitive Conference Tournament Championship Game. Austin s leadership and cool-manner on the floor helped guide the Panthers to victory! The Books Are Here!!! Once again the Scholastic Book Fair paid off for Meadow Heights students. With the proceeds from the last Book Fair we were able to buy over 70 new books for the library! Second graders were excited to be present when the boxes were unpacked and they got to view the new titles. Students were excited to see books in the popular series from Geronimo Stilton Cavemice, Creepella Von Cacklefur, Spacemice, as well as Owl Diaries, Notebook of Doom and Kung Pow Chicken. Non-fiction titles include books about red foxes, Canadian geese, sea horses, bald eagles, butterflies, electricity, and technology. A huge thanks to everyone that contributed in making this happen!
