The Seneca Valley Band Boosters has a Facebook page. svbandboosters Like us! President s Gavel Great to see everyone attending our first Booster meeting of the year in August. I hope those who attended enjoyed our meeting which was centered on showing a typical meeting, but ensuring New Members had time to gain information on the operations of our Booster Organization. All whom attended were able to get a glimpse of how our chairs prepare for the years programs. Our Executive board hopes everyone continues to attend our monthly meetings and becomes involved with our many events and committees. Becoming a Seneca Valley Band Booster is the best way to share in your child s band experiences. When you receive this newsletter, both Band Camp and our Pie Festival will already be behind us, and we re now looking forward to our first game of the season with North Allegheny. With watching the Band s exciting half-time performance at Pie Fest along with knowing all the work our Directors, their staff, and the Auxiliary sponsors and students put into Band Camp, working so hard to prepare the marching band for this year s program, I really am looking forward to this year s Band Season. Thanks to Linda O'Connor and Cheryl Ferraro and their Uniform committee who did an awesome job with the marching band uniform fittings. This takes a lot of time and effort. Also thanks to Terri Seltzer for organizing and overseeing the band photo session. As usual, everything ran quite smoothly. As you might not be aware at Marching Band Uniform fittings we collected the $10.00 Booster membership fee, which is to be paid by all Band Families. If your child is not part of the Marching Band, but is a member of the F r e s h m a n, S y m p h o n i c, W i n d Ensemble, or Jazz Bands all you need to do is send a check with your Name, Students name and address and your address and place it in the mail using our Seneca Valley Band Boosters, P.O. Box 303, Zelienople, PA address and you will be added to the list of Booster members. I d like to thank Bettie Sager and all of her volunteers for their hard work during the ten days of Band Camp. I d also like to thank Jamie Smith and the other nurses for their expert medical care of our children. It s always exciting to watch the all-new halftime show for the first time at the Pie Festival. I d like to thank Michelle Popp for her hard work in organizing another successful fundraiser. If your student plans to attend the Band Trip to Washington DC in the spring of 2015; Our first fundraiser which benefits individual trip accounts began on August 15th with the distribution of forms for Enjoy entertainment books. If you have any questions please contact Booster Treasure Neal Jackson. Also, our second fundraiser which benefits individual trip accounts was distributed on Monday August 18 th this new fundraiser also began with the distribution of sales forms distributed for Bruster s Ice Cream coupon books. If you have any questions please see Booster Ways and Means Chair Peter Grewar. We re off to a great start so far and with your time and talent, this is sure to be another successful year for the Seneca Valley Band Boosters. President, John L Campbell

2 Page 2 A Note From the Directors Fall, Football, and MARCHING BAND! By the time you read this we will have completed Band Camp, performed at the Pie Festival, and started the football season. We are very excited about this year s band. Congratulations to all those who have worked so hard to get us to this point. This year s staff has been tremendous. It is truly a joy to work with such talented people. The students are to be commended for their preparation, attitude and diligence. We know that their successes have just begun. It is amazing to see all of the parts of the band come together to produce a complete performance. A special thanks goes to all of the Band Boosters who helped during Band Camp. Their efforts are very much appreciated and never go unnoticed. We would like to take this opportunity to stress the importance of having 100% attendance at all band rehearsals and functions. The band cannot rehearse or perform properly without ALL members in attendance. We are making a concerted effort to keep the calendar up to date on our website: Be sure to check it often. Please schedule all activities and appointments accordingly. This is also a good time to remind everyone that it is the student s responsibility to maintain his or her uniform throughout the entire season. Please keep your uniform clean, shoes/ boots polished, and all parts intact. If you have any uniform concerns please contact Mrs. Ferraro or Mrs. O Connor. Thanks again to everyone for a great start to this year s marching season. With everyone s continued hard work and pursuit of excellence we will have a season filled with great performances and memories that will last a lifetime! Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Babick, Mr. Eisenreich, and Mrs. Snyder Ice Cream...Ice Cream...Who Wants Ice Cream We have just launched a new fundraising initiative - the Bruster s Booster Ice Cream coupon book.
