1 Summer 2018 Kids, teens and adults can get rewards for reading this summer! Either use a paper log or register for our book-tracking app, Beanstack, to keep track of how many books you read. Stop into either branch of the library throughout the summer to enter raffles and pick up prizes for reading! Whether you re reading books or audiobooks or magazines, for pleasure or mandatory school assignments, it all counts! Join us in the Round Lake Auditorium (the big building across from Clark House) for a free performance by Nan Hoffman. Music, especially folk music with its emphasis on lyrics and stories, can help enhance reading, writing and listening skills, and language development. 2 Summer Clubs & Your Library A monthly group for adults with disabilities focusing on current and seasonal events, science, computer skills and craft. If you have an adult family member you would like to have participate in this group, please contact the library for further information. In July, we will be discussing Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, a dystopian novel that explores the role of the arts after civilization s collapse. August s pick is Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, about a boy's quest for a mysterious author whose book is as dangerous to own as it is impossible to forget. All supplies provided, and new members are welcome! For adults and children 8+. Join us in July to discuss The Girls of Atomic City: The Untold Story of The Women Who Helped Win World War II by Denise Kiernan. Check back in Malta or on the website for August s title. Bring your own projects to share with and inspire others, or come for help with those tricky stitches. Please note that August s meeting will be unmoderated. Cookbook Club will not be meeting as usual in July and August. Instead, meet us in Clark House for a pared-down Chopped-style competition! 4 Story Your Library Stella is a standard poodle who received her therapy dog certificate and she loves being read to! Bring a favorite book from home or borrow one from the library.
