The time seems to go as fast as flipping through the pages of a book. If only we could stop the clock when good things happen and wallow in that moment. Well, it's not going to happen, we need to move on with time. However, we as TWC members always make those minutes and hours count. We are volunteers, care givers, supporters and advocates that make that time important for our community. It's why time goes quickly, we are busy doing for others. Remember those hours are important for our reports, keep a record of the volunteer time on your calendars. Write down when you leave and when you return. Travel time counts. There are many chances for you to volunteer... coming up are the paper bag auction, which is really fun, save your "Good Discards" for the rummage sale, and mark your calendar for the Fashion Show. Volunteers are needed for these events. You will be able to sign-up at the meetings, or contact the chairmen. With a new year comes new beginnings. Read the newsletter, go to our website and find something you have not done before. Write a poem for the writing contest, make a craft for the craft show or take an unusual picture for the photo contest. Attend the District Meeting and bring a pound of rice or sugar. Get creative, and make it different and original. How ever you begin the year make it a fun experience. Happy New Year - Peace - Joy - and most of all good health. JANUARY CALENDAR Jan. 3 Jan. 4 9:30 AM - Set up for meeting (Ladies whose last name starts with W, A, Q or Y) 10:00 AM - Social Hour Jan. 4 11:00 AM - General Meeting Brown Bag Auction Jan :00 AM - Helping Hands Jan. 18 1:00 PM - Game Day Jan :00 AM - Board Meeting Jan. 27 9:00 AM Set for Rummage Sale Jan. 28 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Rummage Sale
2 First Vice President Barbara Freeman It doesn t seem possible that this year, 2016, is almost over. I certainly don t feel a year older and I wonder where did it go. There wasn t a Marina District Council Meeting this month so nothing to report on there but if you missed the Wine Auction at the November District Meeting you won t want to miss the Pound Auction at the February Meeting. Members bring in a pound of something... anything... wrapped up real nice and the items are auctioned off. Our own Pam Ament is the auctioneer and she does a great job. The last time we had one Deanna Hanson paid $8.00 for a pound box of cake mix. So, I hope you come and enjoy all the fun. Here at TWC your report forms are due. As I said before, you don t need to fill out the form if you don t want to. Just write up the things you did for club and the events club had and send it to me. I ll figure it all out. If you worked on a fundraiser the chairman probably has your info and will turn it in. We want the District and State to know what a great club we have and how much we do for the community. If you have any questions give me a call or . I want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season. It is my favorite time of the year and I m enjoying the music, lights, shopping and baking. I think this should be my MO. So be Happy, Healthy and Wise during this Season and we will see you back at Club in January Yikes another year... January MARINA DISTRICT CALENDAR 20 Marina District Council Meeting - WC of Redondo Beach - Reports Due Culver City Rummage Sale Second VP/Membership Sharon Saffer and Claudeene Lyon Hope you had a joyous holiday! TWC gives a warm welcome to our two newest members, Donna Teoli and Melinda Palmer. We started our year with four new members and we now have a total of nine new members giving us a club total of 143. Happy New Year! January will be a perfect time to reflect on our accomplishments and encourage our members to get involved with our events and opportunities for community service. We hope you had a chance to purchase something special from our Holiday Bazaar and you can also look forward to the Brown Bag Auction on January 4th. Here are some New Year's Resolutions for TWC: * Invite a friend to a meeting who would possibly join our club. * Volunteer a few hours of your time because we are "The Heart of the Community". * Save you coupons to help the military families. * Buy a raffle ticket for the opportunity drawings at our monthly meetings. * Participate in the TWC fund raisers.
