2 Recreation Department Policies Cancellation of Outdoor Programs If it rains, outdoor programs may be cancelled. Any inclement weather will result in program cancellation or waiting for the weather to improve. Call , facebook/lincolnparksandrecreation, on Twitter. ALL TIMES AND PROGRAMS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Summer Registration Refund Policy Refunds will be made during the first week if there are scheduling conflicts, such as overlapping programs. Summer Registration Deadline Policy There will be no registrations accepted by the Recreation Assistants at any programs. You must register either at the Recreation Office or by mail. All programs are subject to a minimum enrollment to be run. If we don't meet that requirement, the program will be cancelled and refunds will be issued to those who have registered and paid. The Town of Lincoln wishes for any child to participate that has an interest, therefore, a Sponsor A Child fund is available to help as needed. Be Sure to Visit Us at Homecoming July 16th-19th!! All programs are open to the general public. Children may sign up for more than one program and the schedule has been set to allow this to happen. If a conflict arises, please contact the office. 3 Town Responsibility- *Taken from Child Protection Policy The Town of Lincoln recognizes the importance of protecting the community s children. Because of this, we have endeavored to institute policies that focus on protecting our youngest citizens while we provide recreational, cultural and educational programs. Town employees including seasonal, volunteers, instructors and/or coaches (known within this policy as staff) are to be held liable for any conduct that does not follow with the Codes of Conduct. All Recreation staff will adhere and sign off on this policy. The Town will perform a criminal record background check on all staff including fingerprinting prior to program start dates. Registration sheets shall be kept in an enclosed envelope or binder for participants by the Program Director/Coach at each activity and master copies kept in the Recreation Office. This information will list contact numbers and medical considerations. *A full copy of this policy is available at the Recreation Office. Prince Thomas Park American Red Cross Certified Swimming Lessons Res. Fee $25/Non-Res. Fee $40 Children ages 4 and up can register for this program. The program is taught by certified instructors. These lessons focus on fundamental swimming skills and water safety. Class size is limited, and child to instructor is generally a 6:1 ratio. Classes will be 30 minutes in length, Monday-Thursday, for 6 weeks. Parent/guardian will be contacted at a later date with specific class time. June 29-August 6 Free Swim Free! This program is a service that offers convenience to our citizens by staffing the beach with trained, certified lifeguards. Children ages 8 and older may swim without adult supervision following the completion of a Prince Thomas Park permission slip. June 22-August 9 Mon-Fri 12:30-8:00pm Sat-Sun 12:30-5:00pm Free Beach Events Free! Bring the kids for activities such as the life jacket relay, water balloon toss, and our famous messy obstacle course. Friday July 17 12:00-3:00pm

4 Adult Water Prince Thomas Park Free! Call the recreation office if interested. Days and times will be to benefit the most individuals that we can. Soccer Day Cobb Field Res. Fee $30/Non-Res. $40 This program will teach participants the basic fundamental skills of soccer with M.A Coach Stephanie Dubay. Offered to children in grades 3-8. July Gr. 3-5 Mon-Thurs 10:00-11:15am Gr. 6-8 Mon-Thurs 11:30-1:30pm Cheering MA Res. Fee $15/Non-Res. Fee $25 This program will offer a basic introduction on cheerleading routines, proper technique, and much more. This will be a great opportunity for your child to start young and grasp these skills! Gr. K-5 July :00-1:30pm MJH Res. Fee $15/Non-Res. Fee $25 This is an instructional program designed to teach children the fundamentals of tennis. June 22-July 22 Ages 7-11 Mon & Tues 10:30-11:15am Ages Mon & Tues 11:15-12:00pm Parent Statement of Understanding *Taken from Child Protection Policy The following information is important for the safety and protection of your child. Please read the following information so that when asked to sign and date the form upon registration, you have a clear understanding of the policy. 1. I understand that staff is not allowed to transport my child from one location to another if I am late or when activities end. 2. I understand that staff will not allow my child to leave with anyone other than those listed on the registration form or a note signed by me provided to the Activity Director. 3. I understand that I shall not leave my child alone at any location for a program if there is not a staff member present to sign them in. 4. Lastly, I understand that if a person who appears under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol arrives to pick up my child, staff may hold the child there and report the matter to the Lincoln Police Department. I also understand that the Town is mandated, by state law, to report any suspected abuse or neglect to appropriate authorities. *A full copy of this policy is available at the Recreation Office! Fee $40 This program is for children ages This program instructs children in all elements of Track and Field. There are weekly competitive track meets. Successful participants may advance to regional and state track and field meets. Parents/guardians are responsible for out-of-town travel. If you are a first time participant, please bring your child s birth certificate when you come in to register. It is imperative for USATF membership. June 22-Aug. 1 8:00-9:30am Mon-Thurs Co-ed MJH Res. Fee $15/Non-Res.Fee$25 This program is designed to help children practice their basketball skills in a fun, noncompetitive environment. Learn new skills, perfect skills you already have, play a few games and have a blast! June 30-July 30 *Boys and Girls Basketball Gr :00-10:00am Gr :00-11:30am Gr :00-11:30am TBA Tues, Wed, Thurs Basketball Day MA All kids grades K-9 can participate in this four day basketball clinic. Local coaches will instruct kids on rules and fundamentals of basketball. June 22,23,24,25 Gr. K-2 9:00-9:45am $10/$20 Gr :00-12:00 $20/$30 Gr :30-3:30pm $25/$35 Local coaches: Steph Dubay, Brian McDormand, Ben Arsenault, Randy Harris Open Gym MJH A rainy day activity! Various supervised, age appropriate activities. Mon-Thurs 12:30-2:30pm Baseball MA Instructional clinic for kids interested in baseball. Coach Bryant Lynx baseball coach, will be leading this activity. July Gr :00-1:00pm Gr :00-3:00pm Free! Free! Walking is the best form of exercise. 6 Golf JaTo Highlands Golf Course Res. Fee $10/Non-Res.Fee $20 Instructor Michael Foster will offer a four day clinic for participants ages The basic concepts of the game will be taught including grip, stance, swing, and club selection. Dates and times TBA Golf Barnes Brook Golf Course Res. Fee $10/Non-Res. Fee $20 Instructor Mike Clendenning will offer a three day clinic for participants ages The clinic will develop the fundamentals of golf from driver to putter, teach the rules of the game, and proper golf etiquette. Dates and times TBA Coed Cobb Field Res. Fee $15/Non-Res. Fee $25 This program focuses on the fundamentals of soccer, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Participants will also learn game rules. June 22-July15 Grades K-2 12:15-1:00pm Grades 3-5 1:00-2:00pm Grades 6-8 2:00-3:00pm Mon & Wed Grade 4/6 Soccer Fall 2014 Winners never quit and quitters never win. -Vince Lombardi Kayaking Airport Campground Res. Fee $5/Non-Res. Fee $15 A new program! Learn kayaking and water safety skills on the Penobscot River. Instructed by Steph Dubay. We have kayaks available for the class. You may bring your own as well. The schedule will be adapted to accommodate numbers. At the end of the program, a trip is planned from the Winn boat landing to the Chester bridge. Ages 10-adult Starts June 30 12:00-1:30pm Tues & Thurs. Farm Cobb Field and MA Field Res. Fee $15/Non-Res. Fee $25 This program is for children ages 6-9 who are not enrolled in Lincoln Little League. This is an instructional program with an emphasis on learning and having fun. June 22-Aug 5 Mon, Tues, Wed 5:00-6:15pm Cobb Field and MA Field Res. Fee $15/Non-Res. Fee $25 This co-ed program is for children ages 4-6. This program teaches children the basic skills and rules of baseball. This is an instructional program with an emphasis on learning and having fun. June 22-July 29 Mon, Tues, Wed 4:15-5:00pm
