Returned Checks: A check returned for insufficient funds will result in a $50.00 fee being assessed on your account. Participation in current and future programs will be suspended until fee is paid. Refunds: Refunds can be authorized only BEFORE the second program meeting unless it is a special event or one-night program. Cancellations: All registrations will be fully refunded should an entire program be cancelled by the recreation department. Reserve one today for your next gathering! $35 Resident, $70 Non-Resident Gazebo A perfect place for a wedding ceremony along the beautiful St. Clair River. $35 Resident, $70 Non-Resident (2 hr. maximum) Morton Park Ballfields Reserve one today for a team practice or a fun game with family and friends. $20 Resident, $40 Non-Resident Boat Launch Daily Fee: $7 Resident and Non-Resident without Pass Season Pass: Free Residents, $50 Non-Resident Boat registration, trailer registration and drivers license required for season pass. Passes can be purchased at the Marysville Community Center. ADA Accessible Canoe/Kayak Launch Launch is now located on the north side of the Water Plant at the Old Boat Launch Area. Free to use! Community Center E. Huron Blvd. A great place to host family reunions, graduations, birthday parties, receptions, bridal and baby showers. Seating for 100 people with a refrigerator available. Alcohol is allowed. $40/hour Resident, $80/hour Non-Resident (2 hr min.)

6 Youth Camps and Activities Teen Volunteer Program The Marysville Recreation Department is one of the best in the area and that is due to the amount of teen volunteers we get every summer! This gives teens an opportunity to get work experience while developing good work habits and giving back to their community. We will need volunteers to help with sports programs, aquatics, playground program and special events. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and great work experience. Applications are available at the Recreation Department or online. Volunteers MUST attend orientation! Applications are due by: Friday, June 1 Volunteer Orientation: Friday, June 22 11:00am Viking Hoops Camp June The annual Viking Hoops Camp will teach young athletes the basic fundamentals of the game, while developing a healthy work ethic and positive attitude. This camp will take place at the Marysville High School Gymnasium. Pick up forms at the Recreation Department. Grades 3-6: 9:00am-12:00pm Grades 7-9:12:30-3:00pm Fee: $70 1 st Child, $35 2 nd Child Make Checks Payable to: City of Marysville Viking Volleyball Camp June This is an all skills camp for all levels! You will get instruction from the Marysville coaching staff and varsity players. This is will cover hitting, blocking, setting, serving, and passing, along with team skills. Pick up forms at the Recreation Department. Forms due by June 8th to guarantee a t-shirt and volleyball. Grades: 3 7 9:00-11:00am Grades :00-3:00pm Cost: $50.00 Cost: $70.00 Additional Family Members: $ nd ANNUAL FISHING CLINIC presented by the Marysville DPW and Marysville Lions Club Does your son or daughter want to learn how to fish? This clinic will teach them the proper way to do so with stations covering safety, knot tying, tackle, casting, and how to be a good angler. Join us for a fun Saturday morning on the St. Clair River! Ages FREE fishing poles to first 100 in line the day of event! When: June 2 at 9:00am Where: Marysville Boat Launch/Fishing Pier Cost: FREE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS Register: or at City Hall, 1111 Delaware Ave, Marysville, MI Nerf Wars Kids will get a chance to battle it out using their Nerf products! The day will be run as a tournament style competition with five player teams. Let your kids get competitive and have fun this summer with Nerf Wars! Players will bring their own Nerf products to the competition. Teams will be made the night of event. For a list of rules visit our Facebook page or pick them up in the office. 7 Youth Camps and Activities Playground Program at the City Park The Marysville Recreation Department invites your children, ages 6-12, to participate in our playground program at the City Park. This program includes board games, arts and crafts, imaginative games, playground games, individual and team sports, fitness, education, splash pad, adventures and more! Children are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Every day will start at Pavilion #5. Dates: June 25 August 2, Monday Thursday Time: 11:00am-4:00pm Fee: $75 Resident/ $100 Non-Resident Tot-Lot Program Recreation staff will lead children through fun organized activities like games, crafts, stories and more. This program is for ages 3-5. All staff is CPR and first aid certified. NEW LOCATION: Pavilion #5 Dates: June 26 - August 2 Tues and Thurs Time: 9:30-10:30am Fee: $25 Resident/ $35 Non-Resident Tent City Boys and girls (ages 7-13) join us again this summer for our 11th Annual Tent City! Campers will be setting up their tents in Marysville City Park. We will be spending the evening playing fun games like capture the flag, kickball, dodgeball, group games, football, and doing our famous midnight scavenger hunt and splash pad adventure! Open to the first 100 campers! Date: Thursday, July 26 to Friday, July 27 Time: Drop off 6 pm Thursday/ Pick up by 8am Friday Fee: $20 and a packaged snack to share for 15 kids Must be pre-registered! All campers will be well supervised! We will be handing out prizes for best decorated tent! Creative Kids Classes Crafty Kids Every week children ages 2-6 will read a new children s book and then make a related craft! This class is great for encouraging your child s creative side while also teaching them to love reading! Older children ages 7-12 will get a chance to make a variety of fun crafts that harness their creativity and individuality! Dates: June 27-August 1 Days: Wednesdays Time: Ages 2-6 9:00-9:45am Ages :00-10:45am Location: Marysville Community Center Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Fundamentals of Theatre Acting Children and teens will be introduced to acting through drills, skill work, and group activities. Not only will children learn the skills necessary to stand out when acting, they will also learn some technical terms to aid them in their exploration of theatre! 8 Field trips These special trips are for ages 7-14 and chaperoned by our supervisors and staff. Price for each trip is different and based on location of field trip. A few notes about the trips: Trips are for Residents and Non-Residents Children WILL be supervised by Recreation Staff at ALL TIMES Children MUST be pre-registered by each trips deadline Transportation provided by Marysville School Bus, Inc. 40 Child MAX for each trip. Some do fill up fast, so make sure to sign up right away! Please arrive 15 minutes before departure time. Pick up and drop off will be at the Marysville Community Center, 867 E. Huron Blvd. Every child must have a sign permission slip turned in by the deadlines listed below. No exceptions! 9 Youth Sports Cheerleading The basic fundamentals of cheerleading will be taught, along with small pyramids. This is a great individual and team skilled program. Dates: June 26-August 2 Days: Tuesday/Thursday Location: Marysville Community Center Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Time: Age 5-7 9:00-9:50am Age :00-10:50am Age :00-11:50am Grass Volleyball Come play volleyball outside!!! This program is designed to teach the basic skills of volleyball through fun drills and competitions, along with game situations. Great practice for Volleygrass! Dates: June 25- August 1 Days: Monday/Wednesday Location: Marysville Park Field #4 Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Time: Age :00-12:50 pm Age :00-1:50 pm Age :00-2:50 pm Basketball Instructors will help players develop the basic fundamentals of passing, shooting, dribbling and defense through the combination of drills and games. Dates: June 26-August 2 Days: Tuesday/Thursday Location: Morton Elementary School Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Time: Age 5-7 9:00-9:50 am Age :00-10:50 am Age :00-11:50am Dance Classes Dancers will learn a routine throughout the summer and perform at the Marysville High School Auditorium on the last day of classes. Dates: June 26-August 2 Days: Tuesday/Thursday Location: Marysville Community Center Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Hip Hop Ballet Ages 5-8 3:00-3:50 pm Ages :00-5:50pm Ages :00-4:50 pm Wrestling Takedowns, period breakdowns, stances, basic moves, rules and scoring will be taught to each individual. There will be plenty of time to practice these moves each class. 10 Youth Sports Tennis NEW! Instruction provided by the Port Huron Tennis House! The fun of tennis begins with the basics. The players will learn through active drills and instruction to master the skills and rules of this game. No class on July 4th. Rain makeups will be the week of August 6. Dates: June 18-July 25 Days: Monday/Wednesday Location: High School Tennis Courts Time: Beginners Age 4-7 4:00-5:00pm Cost: $100 for 6 weeks or 11 Classes Intermediate Age :00-6:00pm High School and Adults 6:00-7:00pm T-ball, Softball, Baseball The coaching staff will teach the basic fundamentals to each level, including batting, throwing, catching, fielding, base running, and rules of the game. This is open to all levels. Dates: June 26-August 2 Days: Tuesday/Thursday Location: Marysville Park Field #4 Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Time: Age 3-4 9:00-9:25am Tues or Thu Age 5-6 9:30-9:55am Age :00AM-10:25am Age :30-11:30am Football The staff will lead the youth players through the basic fundamentals of football through drills and exercises. This will lead into a flag football game. Dates: June 25-August 1 Days: Monday/Wednesday Location: Marysville Park Field #4 Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Time: Age 6-8 9:00-9:50 am Age :00-10:50 am Age :00-11:50 am Sporties for Shorties Introduce your son or daughter to different sports and learning basic fundamentals. The sports they will participate in are: basketball, football, soccer, t-ball, tennis and track & field. For ages 3-6 with a maximum of 30 in each class. Dates: June 29-August 3 Days: Fridays Location: Morton Elementary Cost: $25 Residents/$35 Non-Residents Time: 9:00-9:30am 9:45-10:15am 10:30-11:00am NEW! Gymnastics ABC Gymnastics with instruction by Coach Keith is making its debut at the Community Center this summer! This is beginner level gymnastics with challenges in group and individual activities. New games are offered every week. 11 Aquatics Swim Lessons: $30 Resident/$40 Non-Resident The lessons will be offered in 3-week and 6-week sessions. Classes are limited to 15 kids per class with two instructors. All classes will be held at the Marysville High School Pool. Below are the levels listed, so please read carefully to make sure you place your child in the right swim class. Level 1 Water Exploration: This level is to help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Swimmers will learn how to submerge their heads, basic breath control and supported floating on front/back. Level 2 Primary Skills: Gives swimmers success with fundamental skills and learn to float without support. Learn the basic self-help skills. Level 3 Stroke Readiness: Swimmers learn the fundamentals of front/back crawl and treading water. An introduction to the backstroke is provided. Level 4 Stroke Development: Swimmers develop confidence in strokes learned thus far and work to improve other aquatic skills. Introduction to the breaststroke, sidestroke and wall turns are provided. Level 5 Stroke Refinement: Swimmers work on coordination and refinement of key strokes. Introductions to the butterfly, open turns, feet-first surface dives are provided. Swimmers increase swim distances. 12 Aquatics Swim Team The swim team is for boys and girls ages 6-18 years old living in the Marysville School District. All practices are Monday through Thursday with swim meets being held on Fridays for all age groups. Swimmers MUST attend at least 2 practices a week to be able to participate in the swim meets. All participants must be able to swim one length of the pool in any stroke and will be tested on the first day. The swim team is limited to 100 kids, swim meets 50. Dates: June 25 August 3 Location: Marysville High School Pool Cost: $75 Resident /$100 Non-Resident Practice Times: Ages :00-2:00pm Ages :00-3:00pm Special Needs Swim Lessons These are 20-minute swim lessons that will get the special needs children in the pool playing games and learning how to swim. They will be one on one with an instructor. Participants must be toilet trained. Call the Recreation Department to set up the time and instructor. Fee: $30 for 6 weeks Private Swim Lessons Call the Recreation Department to set up a private lesson with an instructor. Cost: $20/half hour. Senior Water Aerobics Seniors can enjoy the benefits of warm, therapeutic water set between degrees. The pool is handicap accessible, including the ramp entrance/exit. This is a group exercise program without a lead instructor. The program is for ages 50 and older. Dates: Now- August 10 Days: Tuesday and Thursday Location: RESA Woodlands Pool, 499 S. Range Rd Time: 6:00-7:30PM Cost: $1 Daily Fee or $15 Summer Pass Open Swim Schedule The pool is open to the public for lap swimming and open swim with family and friends. 13 Adult Programs Yoga in the Park We are happy to announce that Happy Dog Yoga Studio, in partnership with the City of Marysville, will be offering an all-levels yoga class at Marysville Park this summer. Join Katie Morey for an all-levels class where students can develop strength, balance, and flexibility while enjoying the beautiful summer weather. Please wear comfy clothing and bring a yoga mat. Classes will be held in the community center in case of inclement weather. When: Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm June 19 August 21 Where: Marysville Park Cost: $10 Weekly Drop In Fee Rockin Retirees with Deborah Forster A class for everyone, whether you ve been exercising or simply want to age in a healthy way. This class will provide cardio, resistance, flexibility, core, and balance training. Every class is self-paced; chairs are provided for those who need them. Join certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor Deborah Forster, for a fun and energetic hour! When: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30-9:30am June 26 August 2 Where: Marysville Community Center Cost: $20 for 12 classes or $10 for 6 classes NEW! Sit to be Fit A chair exercise class for older adults and anyone needing slow and gentle movements. It is perfect for men and women! Join Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, Deborah Forster, as she guides the class in exercise focusing on core strength, flexibility, and balance training. Enjoy the company of others while learning the basics of becoming a healthier you. When: Wednesday 10:00-10:45am Starts June 27 Where: Marysville Community Center Cost: $20 NEW! Gentle Yoga Improve your balance, strength and stability! No need to be intimidated by strange words and difficult poses. Modifications will be shown to accommodate every level including modifications for back/knee pain. This class will allow you to gain confidence without having to worry about not being able to touch your toes! Have you always wanted to try Yoga but didn t know where to begin? This is your class! Certified Yoga Instructor and Personal Trainer Deborah Forster will lead you to success! 14 Golf Golf Lessons Learn the etiquette of golf, along with rules and basic skills. Golfers will work on grip, stances, swings, putting, short game, and driving. This is a beginner s course. Class will be taught by PH Elks staff Brian Bowman, Kyle Bailey, and Joe Faulks. Limit to 20 kids per class. Dates: June 26 - August 1 Day: Tuesday Location: Marysville Golf Course Practice Range Cost: $40 Residents/$50 Non-Residents Time: 12:00-1:00pmAge :00-2:00pm Age Junior Golf League Golfers must have some basic playing skills and ability to advance the ball with regularity. This is for the more advanced golfers who are ready to take their golf game to the next level. All golfers must wear a collared shirt and proper footwear (no flip flops, sandals, or crocs).
