Motion Passes 4. Guests: MNSA, Mock Trail, LEAD 5. Committees: Reviewing the governance structures of other colleges for P&P (Priorities and Planning) 6. Legislature Officer Reports a. Academic Programming i. Academic Forum 3/23 3:30-5pm in Larini Room i. Update is same. Looking into bringing someone as a point opp ii. We talked about getting amphitheater (in Kellenberg) fixed and we are ordering new desks with it. We got a new official account. When talking with faculty that will be our way of contact. Met with some faculty as Branchini, Malduni, Maureen Sanz, and Katelyn Smith. The meetings went well and we got great feedback. Speakers for school and faculty have a collaboration to do an education seminar and lecture and other professors from higher colleges a. Jeffrey Lozano: Booking dates for focus groups? b. Anika Chowdhury: We want to do focus groups not just for majors but honors, transfers, and athletics b. Molloy Life Media i. Headshots for Bulletin Board i. Make sure everyone takes headshots. Reach out to Kelly. ii. Dave Seuling: We all have access to the Google doc with roll call with s iii. Jojo Minasi: Submit PR just make sure all the info is filled and be specific what you want it too look like and what you want to be on it. Nothing is more annoying then you say don t like it if you said it from the beginning. c. Community Service i. Saint Baldrick s Day: Tuesday, March 10-4 Public Square Lobby and Patio i. Jeffrey Lozano: If interested for St Baldrick s, make sure to sign up on the website so you can raise up on the website. Grace raised $2,000 with her family via online. ii. Candy Buffet: Wednesday, February 12-3 Public Square Lobby
2 i. Stacy Zachariah: There is a store in Levittown cheap discounted candy for college students called Rocketfitz. I ll share it on slack. iii. Paint splatter: Tuesday, February 12-3 Public Square Patio iv. Chipotle: Tuesday March 2-9 Oceanside, NY v. Swirls and Twirls: Tuesday March 3-9. Oceanside, NY vi. Doge for Cure 2: April 6 7:00pm Quealy Gym. vii. Hat Sale: $15 each and no deals. Selling this week and at paint splatter & table day: March 2 nd viii. Event Feedback: Molloy Day of Giving was a lot of fun. St. John s Newman Club is every Friday and they want to work with us and see us once in a while. We also learned a lot. d. Residence Life i. End of Year BBQ i. Working to have this huge BBQ. Have meetings for it & I ll keep you posted ii. Jeffrey Lozano: Are you calling it End of BBQ? iii. Melissa Guida: No, but we have to come up with something else. We were thinking carnival theme & kind of like open house with pretzels, etc. Maybe we could get a big blow up on the parking lot and on the side of the dorms, like a bouncy castle or something iv. Gina Cristallo: Once you know how much you know you want to take from the MSG budget let me know. v. Samantha Drexler: Do you have a date? vi. Melissa Guida: Tuesday, May 2 nd at 1pm e. Class Officers i. Seniors i. Yankee Candle Fundraiser: a. Two table days next week b. Mira Awad: PR I ll slack it again and please spread the word c. Dave Seuling: Financial incentive for seniors and it s campus wide, for internal gov you can get a point. So basically, if not a senior, you can get a point d. And if you are a senior and sell up to 4 candles you can get $20 subsiding the cost of gala ticket e. Every $50 you can get a candle perhaps. ii. Gala Updates: May 4 th It ll end 12:30pm and you can show up at 7:45pm a. Nick Carratelli, Senior Class President, motions for the funds not to exceed $2, $85 for tickets $600 for 2 photographers: Destine and Frankie $2,250: Lightening, MC, and Equipment Gina Cristallo: Take it out of fundraise Melissa Guida seconds the motion. Sign up for the table day v. Chipotle Fundraiser: Tuesday, April 11th, 2-9 pm 3161 Long Beach Road, Oceanside, NY a. We are going to make you stand in a certain area to give out flyers. b. Melissa Guida: What about putting flyers in windshield wipers? ii. Juniors i. Bake Sale, PS Lobby Feb. 15th a. CANCELLED ii. Happy Birthday Everyone 4/19/17 Hays a. As a class, we looked at our budget and it is $1,500. We have approximately three events: Molloy s Got Talent, Colorfest ($754, 404 color and 300 packets and Molloy logo with tshirts and cleaning supplies it s $50 with towels) $ b. Tentative date: March 27 th if we have the tent. We created a breakdown and it comes out to $2,350 for a fourteen hour event. People are distraught events are on Wednesday and Thursday so we chose to do a Monday. c. It is basically a birthday party for everyone and not everyone will be able to attend so throughout the day you get will get an based off your birthday and then will come in to the office and have the interaction with students, You get a prize and an invitation to the party at night. Party at night and the way the room is split is based on month and based on themes and the season. d. Jessica Holdsworth: New Molloy ID doesn t have birthday on it e. Katharine Black: Decorate campus with 94 balloons $100; 700 giveaways $845; wing pizza and desserts for $400; and DJ: $200; decorations: $500 f. Each season we have a different giveaway: beach ball (summer), Frisbee (fall), water bottles (winter), and footballs (spring)
4 g. Elizabeth Meittinis: An all day event and, yes it s a lot of money, but think about the amount of people it serves. It touches a majority of people h. Jeffrey Lozano: Think about going to clubs and cosponsoring. College Against Cancer celebrates a birthday everyday and Education Club. Volunteer and they are more then welcome. i. Gina Cristallo: Budget is made up a while ago. I suggest don t rely on clubs and motion for it now. j. Katharine Black: We are going to motion for the money, but we may not spend it all k. Mira Awad: How many people will need to be working it? Point opp possibly but what about when class. Katharine Black: Maybe that Sunday, we ll get together and break it down for everyone for the next day l. Jackie Bassey: More incentive if point to do office hour during it m. Ryan Gribbin-Burket: Maybe specific reason to be in office is to do the task. But what if went out and no one s there? n. Jeffrey Lozano: In past events, held part in gov was a point opp o. Matt Gibbons: If inclined like Jackie said Tues & Thurs office will be scarce p. Apparel: No money it s all pre order. q. So just find out for me. iv. Chipotle Fundraiser, Feb. 22. a. Post in slack v. PS I Love You- Thank you! Sold out of shirts and raised over $900. a. Next year if we make it an MSG event then we could have bought more shirts and raised more money and awareness for the cause i. Sophomores i. Trivia Night -Madison Theatre; Thursday! February 16th; 8pm a. Had to reschedule Lip Sync and a lack of enthusiasm so we came up with Trivia Night idea. b. Mike Paone, Sophomore Class President, motions for the funds not to exceed $ for pizza and for lip sync funds to move to trivia night. A total of $ c. Danielle Khoury, Junior Class President, seconds d. Breakdown: 3 $25 gift cards; 5 $5 gift cards; e. Motion passes. f. PR it g. There is no way to revamp the process or speed it up. So we are thinking about a stuff your own bear. It's more an experience type of thing.
