We have about colleges who ve already scheduled recruiting visits to AHHS! These reps travel from all over the country to recruit our students. We really want their time at Alamo Heights HS (and in San Antonio!) to be a positive experience. We d love to provide them with opportunities to choose their own snack adventure while they re on our campus. These items could include: small bottles of water, snacks (healthy and sweet), etc. Kindly send these donations with your student to drop off at the College Center anytime. We ll post pictures of our happy reps on social media! #SeniorSeptember The College Center is a resource to all grade levels. However, September is peak college application season, and when seniors/families need the most help. This is also when colleges from all over the country will begin descending upon AHHS to recruit our students ( these recruiting events are open to all grade levels ). We ll be touring Senior English classes this week talking about the college admissions process and providing Naviance help. College Visits Week of Sept. 3 : UT Austin (just added!), UNT, OU, UofH, DePaul, *Southwestern, Johns Hopkins, Hamilton, Eckerd Week of Sept. 10: Haverford, Texas Tech, Ithaca, Amherst, A&M (Kingsville), Carnegie Mellon, Abilene Christian See Naviance for dates, times, locations, and to RSVP. COLLEGE SPOTLIGHT : Southwestern University ( ) Austin has more than one great college (and many students would prefer to not be on a campus of 50,000+ students)! Southwestern University has around 1,500 undergraduates enrolled and is located just north of Austin in Georgetown. SU is one of the amazing Colleges That Change Lives schools ( ). Paideia is Southwestern s interdisciplinary curriculum and is designed to develop the intellectual practice of identifying connections between the fundamental questions and ideas that shape our world. If you re running late to class, hop on a yellow Pirate Bike SU s FREE bike share program for students and staff. Fun Fact: SU is one of the few schools in Texas to offer collegiate lacrosse (AHHS grad, Thomas Volpe, is on their roster!). Learn more when Southwestern visits AHHS during lunch on Thursday, September 6 th in the College Center. Essay Help 4
