2 Mother s Day High Tea
3 MOTHER S DAY HIGH TEA LUNCHEON On Friday the 12th of May Year 6 held a Mother s Day High Tea and everyone loved it. We raised over $1,000. It started at 12:30 pm and ended around 2 pm. There were waitresses and a lot of food which was delicious. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. (Marnie) I asked Mum if she enjoyed the Mother s day high tea and she said she LOVED it. She loved the cakes, the food and how cool the girls looked in their aprons. It was really fun and different. (Katelyn) Year 6 are building a chook shed and Kitchen garden to help improve the school. To raise much needed funds we decided to have a Mother s Day High Tea. [Tom] The table setting was amazing. The china looked old fashioned and it suited the High Tea theme. It was on the 12th of May at 12.30pm. Some Year 6 students were waitresses; others were doormen. There were approximately 100 people there. We also had a raffle with prizes donated by some very generous Year 6 parents and grandparents. Kindergarten and Year 1 combined to perform along with Alirah playing the drums. (Grace and Lily) Last Friday at 12:30 there was a Mother's Day High Tea Luncheon it was super fun. So many people enjoyed it, Grandmothers, mothers and one Grandfather. It was super fun to Wait on people and we earned over 1000 dollars. (Tess) Wow! Over $1200!! All thanks must go to the mothers and grandmothers that showed up. If this is any indication of how successful an instant restaurant could be, we are going to do GREAT. On 12/5/17 at 12:00pm like most of the girls, I was a waitress and frantically running around making everything look perfect (and trying to resist the temptation to taste test everything). 12:30pm came too quickly and people started showing up. We tried desperately to look professional I think we pulled it off.(charlie) It s 12:30! Quick everyone take your positions. Mothers and grandmas filled the hall. Pippa, Lily and Leah were at the door to greet people as they arrived. (Leah & Pippa) The mother s day luncheon was a success, a lot of mothers turned up and we raised about $1200. Our invited guests were full of compliments for the Year 6 students, our matching aprons and all the delicious food. It was all for our wonderful mothers and grandmothers. (Georgie) Our Year 6 Mother s Day High Tea was a huge success. We started preparing in the morning and by the time 12:30 came around the hall was looking amazing and all the mothers were loving it. All together we raised around $1000 dollars.(mia Geddes) We have had a great Mother s Day with our high tea raising about $1200. Our mothers got a special treat with cupcakes, slices, hot food and sandwiches. Kindergarten and Year 1 sang a song, there was a performance from the band and a drum solo from Alirah. (Alirah) We started cooking the night before and we all helped in the morning, all the waitresses put on the aprons and started serving the guests. I asked all my relatives that came how it went and all were positive. (Eliza) Tea, cake, cupcakes, candles, flowers and all the stuff the mothers would like. My mum even won some kind of raffle and got candles that smells quite nice. (Lydia) My mum didn't come because of her work but I did help set it up. It looked amazing and it looked like the mums and grandmas were enjoying it (Marnyka) After our beautiful Mother's Day High Tea I had a thought about our lovely day and I asked mum if she enjoyed it and she said No I didn t enjoy it, I absolutely loved it. I loved the cakes and the yummy finger food and the excellent presentation. She said that we looked stunning in our awesome aprons, white shirt and black pants and shoes. We raised over $1200. It started at 12:30 pm and finished at 1:30. All of our money is going to our chook shed and kitchen garden. Thank you to everyone. (Claire and Mia.M)
4 Mortimer Shield On Tuesday the 16th of May Alirah, Mia M, Grace, Lily, Claire, Mekaila and Eli travelled to Leeton to play the Mortimer Shield. The girls team won three out of their four games and only had six players. One of the highlights of the day was beating Leeton St Joseph s 8-0. Eli had an opportunity to play with other schools and meet different players. Thanks to Mr James for coaching us and thanks to the NRL developer officers for setting up the day and making it happen. 7 This Friday 19th May is National Walk Safely to School Day when all primary school kids are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It s the perfect opportunity for you to talk about pedestrian safety with your kids. It s also a great way to promote healthier lifestyles by encouraging our young ones to be more active. The following road safety tips have been provided by the Centre for Road Safety: If you re walking to school remember to use pedestrian crossings, stay alert and stay off your mobile phone. Parents and carers should hold hands when out walking with their children until they are at least 10 years old. Stop, Look, Listen and Think every time you cross the road! Be a positive role model and always demonstrate the same safe behaviour around children, as they will often learn habits from you. When you re getting off a bus, keep an eye on children to make sure they're safe and always let the bus pass before you cross the road. Narrandera Auskick (Ages 5-10) Commencing: 21 st April 2017 Time: 16:30pm Duration: 90 minutes Location: Narrandera Sportsground Registration Online: Registration amount: $70 (Online payments only) Auskick registration is entirely online this year with both registration and payments to be completed online. So please don t wait until the first night of Auskick to register your child as we will not have the facilities to do this. Auskick packs will be sent directly to your specified address and not sent to the Auskick Coordinators as was the case in previous years. Auskick is a great initiative and will help your child learn the fundamental motor skills vital for future physical activity and sport participation as well as learning how to interact with other children as part of a team in small group activities. As a parent you are the driving force in helping AFL Auskick to be successful, without valuable volunteers this program would not be able to function. Please let us know if you would like to help in any capacity, your experience as a parent is all you need to be a valuable volunteer and we will provide any additional information you require. For any further information please visit the Narrandera Auskick Facebook site or contact the Narrandera Auskick coordinators Adam Davis and Stu Hutchins on the following details: Adam Davis narranderaauskick@gmail.com Stuart Hutchins
