Not-so Grim: With the injury to Folden, the Bandits were down to just Shannon Doepking behind the plate. That was until Chicago signed former Loyola University-Chicago backstop Jenna Grim. A native of Beecher, Ill., Grim spent her college days with the Ramblers at the catcher position. She finished her college career ranked second on Loyola s career home run list with 31 and tied for the team lead in 2011 with seven. Her 87 RBIs place her fifth on the school s all-time list. Going the Distance: Bandits pitcher Nikki Nemitz threw her third complete of the 2011 season in a 5-1 loss last night in Akron. She threw six innings, allowing eight hits, five runs (four earned) and one walk to go along with one strikeout. Her overall record sits at 3-3 on the year, with a low ERA of Gettin Wiggy With It: Megan Wiggins continued to swing a hot bat Thursday night, going 2-for-2 with a double, one RBI, one stolen base and a walk against Kristina Thorson. Wiggins now leads NPF hitters with 10 extrabase hits and is tied for the lead in doubles (5). Overall on the season she is batting.294 (7th in NPF) with 5 home runs (T-1st in NPF), 14 RBIs (4th in NPF) and three stolen bases (3-for-3, T-1st in NPF stolen base percentage).
