Her 1.47 ERA is good for second in the league behind USSSA Pride pitcher Danielle Lawrie (1.40). Abbott has struck out 49 batters on the season so far and is a strong early candidate for Pitcher of the Year. Go Go Gadget Goler: Local product Alisa Goler is on-fire offensively for the Bandits. The rookie third baseman is leading the league in home runs (4), RBIs (13) and is third in batting average (.333). After a sluggish start she has really adapted to the professional pitchers and looks to be building a case for Rookie of the Year. Is there a Doc in the House?: The Diamonds have fight in them, but one thing is clear -- they need more pitching. With apparent injuries to Megan Gibson and Kelsi Dunne, the load has been placed on Morgan Melloh and she is being asked to go the distance night in and night out until Gibson or Dunne heals. Bandits Workout Plan: The Chicago Bandits have reached a new partnership with CrossFit Rise in Schaumburg, Ill.
