More Monny, More Wins: Chicago Bandits pitcher Monica Abbott is in the thick of the pitching Triple Crown race, leading the NPF in wins (8), strikeouts (82) and ERA (1.09). Abbott is on pace to set the team record in strikeoutsj (137 by Lauren Bay in 2005) and could challenge Bay s record for wins in a season (17 in 2005). Halfway Home: The Bandits are halfway through the 2011 season and are tied for first place with the USSSA Pride with a 13-7 record. Chicago is looking for its sixth NPF Regular Season Championship in seven years. Rookie Power: Rookies Megan Wiggins and Alisa Goler, both hailing from Georgia, currently lead the NPF in home runs (5). Wiggins leads the league in extra base hits (9) while Goler leads in RBIs (17). Both are making a bid for NPF Rookie of the Year, which would be the third straight year a Bandit won the award (Tammy Williams in 2009, Nikki Nemitz in 2010). Bandits Split: Chicago s 12-3 win on Sunday split the home series with the Racers. Through eight games against Akron the season series is 4-4. The teams will face each other eight more times this season.
